No life lost yesterday in Kolkata so that's a relief but saw some sorry visuals, only because families of politicians and vips hijacked the event and ignored the fans completely, such a shame and then we wonder why all big event goes to Mumbai and Gujarat.

I didn't see the news and still haven't got any tragic news in social media feed too, I will google it and see what happened.

But I think we have to accept these are inevitable in our country where people lack the civic sense and common sense like how to behave when gathered around and should priorities the safety of people and chose to stay in the home unless it is necessary to visit the crowded place.

Human lives will never be given importance in our country either because 1.4 billion and counting so not much loss for them other than playing the political blame games.

TMC politicians and their friends and family didn't gave much chances to fans and took over the event. It happened in Kolkata so not much outrage in media from usual suspects, except couple of articles.

Oh it was a total mess. All of this was because of the VIP system but the unfortunate ones were the fans who didn't even get to see Messi.
Seems that one of VIP's assistants caught Messi's hand for selfie and another one was forcing him to sign his autograph on a T-shirt.
Messi's security guard felt the lack of security and alerted Messi about the same and so Messi left the stadium.
The fans kept waiting for him to show up and then the situation got out of control and the crowd vandalized the stadium in anger.

Just that one small bite and the entire event would be have been a table turner for the fans who came to see them there.

Every single event has presence of politicians but except for Kolkata where TMC decided to treat it as some election rally to start of their campaign for Bengal election ...others too photos , felicitate him & then left him alone so he can interact with fans.

I was not following Messi's Tour of India, but I wonder why this tour did not cover all football mad places. When I was watching premier league matches in hotstar, I noticed that it was being offered in 2 Indian languages which were Bengali and Malayalam.

I mean, Messi's tour to India should have covered Kerala as well if his tour was truly planned for promoting football in India. But, I am not sure about the level of management in Kerala (you may check in google about Sunny Leone's visit to Kochi under images category, lol), it might have got another 2 out of 10 rating.

No love, only publicity stunts and being in the limelight which this people love to do everyday.

The event was for the football fans to see Messi in their hometown in front of their own eyes and have a chance to click photos with them, not for some politicially movitated potbellies to come in and barge with their status of being Politically influenced to get front row seats.

Arai bhai log apun kai aik cheez bohut mast lagta hai in mai kuch aur ho na ho states hawalai sai ekta hai yani sab ko brober chance milna chahia yai nahi kai thora professional azam lai aur sports ko indujstry mai change ker kai kuch quality imporve karai aur investors ko bee attract karai.
IPL is now big brand no doubt, but now it's time for having some good investment and publicity about soccer and basketball because these games also have good potential and things can take good changes.
I personally feel Cricket, Field Hockey, Squash and Kabbadi under total control so just keep up about few sports where India has good chance of taking their control with strong influence.

The government had collected TCS worth ₹221.3 crore in 2022-23 and ₹362.7 crore in 2023-24, implying transactions worth ₹22,130 crore and ₹36,270 crore were conducted in those two years, respectively.

100% , if we somehow got the data from these unregulated platforms i'm sure it will 75,000cr + maybe even 100kcr

that's the main problem with goverment isn't it , their first line of action is to ban instead of regulation ..did the same with fantasy app ..they missing out on 20-25 billion $ easily in revenue if they made clear regulation instead of fear mongering ..just take tax & let adults do what thet want to with thier own money.

I agree that impractical taxations always lead to black economy. When governments tighten the gold import rules, we can see lots of news on smuggled gold and when tax on cigarettes goes up, China cigarettes hit the market more. Overall, higher taxes and regulations are always ending up in revenue losses to the government. But, it seems like no government (current and all previous) minds these, they want to collect as much as taxes from the one who voluntarily comes forward and leaving off the others.

Taxation is very very important for running a government smoothly and similarly paying taxes should not be a pain to people.

In my humble opinion, government must think about introducing voluntary tax for all who get income above 1 lakh (or 2 or 3 Lak) per year, say some Rs 500 (please note it would be voluntary contribution for building our country more stronger) as tax from such category of people will bring big changes to all others. Similarly, if we have flat 10% or 20% tax for non-salaried (but self employed or business), I am sure most people from that category will start think about paying tax.

As of now, only salaried people contribute the most portion of India's Individual (corporate is another category) tax revenue which is totally unfair in my opinion.

If crypto income to be considered as usual regular income and to be taxed in usual slabs, I guess, India might have got chances to collect more revenue than these.

About taxation I feel a lot of untaxed population exists in the country. If these people are taxed the revenue collection will increase.
