Why most of us are losing money in sports betting?

I believe that most of us are losing money in sports betting, but I'd like to know based on what you read and your experience (if you have) the reasons why we are losing. Personally, I've been gambling for years, I'm just an ordinary gambler who can't be too serious with gambling, but I can't deny that I have been losing money more than I win.

Sports betting is based on the previous success of a team in most of the time so we make a decision based on the previous success but the the problem is all the time the previous chart will not been correct for the today situation that's why I think betting in sports will not been successful for everyone in all the time.

I don't know about others, but I lose because I wish too much with my combinations! I mostly win when I make single bets, but it's like not enough profit, so I make come crazy combo with 5+ games and a bit higher odds. Of course, I don't bet with high amounts on single games, I never bet more on sports with more than $10. And just to add that I have more hits when I bet on goals than on winners and draws. Well for me it's fun to make some sports bets here and there, and I never win anything big, but I haven't lost much. I enjoy to make bets on soccer games I like to watch with friends, and when there are some big games, so it's not like I am betting on sports every day!

And this is should how people do find out with games where they do mainly enjoy on what they've been doing and not really just minding off too much with money making thing.
We do have the same behavior in terms of betting where i do only make bets when there are big events or finals or similar thing but with regular season or something like that
then i do intend to pass excluding to those matches that do really make out some interest for me to bet.It isnt about on losing money but rather what matter most here
is that i do enjoy on the bet that i had made.Im not minding much if it would be a win or not but of course we are longing that our guess is right.

Also, if you know the game, sometimes you place multi-bets, which usually has high chance of losing. Sometimes it is better to do single bet only if you truly know the players and the game. And why are we losing? If we already won the first game, we continue to bet in the succeeding games, up until we lose that money again.

We put our bet because we believe them, but of course, we can't assure also that they will win. Isn't about choosing the wrong team causes our losses (could be that possible as well) but because they are not lucky enough to win the game, that even they are good but still not all the time they will win the same as what will happen to the gambler. No matter how good you are in choosing, analyzing but it was not the ticket that we are 100% winning, yet losing still there.

This is a reason people will always lose money. The reason gamblers don't research is laziness and the liking of quick money. Going for the quick money will take the gambler down.

I have experienced several losses by choosing the wrong team for betting.

The wrong team to bet is usually why you lose or any other gambler lose , so you won't blame yourself on that. Better luck next time because gambling is luck. If you had the luck to choose the team that win, you have made the right choice..

A simple approach to me.

To minimize losses, don't just pick random bets. It's suicide. Don't rush for profits. Say no to tipsters.

To maintain winning stats, go full analysis on a game that I have knowledge either for a big or small bet.

Gamblers winning chances is not 100%.

In short greed runs inside our minds, thinking that you are so lucky and you can continue doing the same thing. Keep playing and keep

trying to win more, that's natural if you don't have any control of your gambling habits, you will lose more unless you learn a much better

strategy or you established good command over your greediness.

But the thing is, games are also unpredictable even how good our analysis. Therefore strategy+knowledge+luck.

It's not because of confidence why gamblers lose, it's a must on the other hand. We lose sometimes as that's what gambling is supposed to be.

But the thing is, games are also unpredictable even how good our analysis. Therefore strategy+knowledge+luck.

It's not because of confidence why gamblers lose, it's a must on the other hand. We lose sometimes as that's what gambling is supposed to be.

Definitely we will be confident if we study a game before playing a bet, but you are right, confidence does not mean you'll win easily, we just need to be at the right side most of the time in order to win, and we have to ensure a proper bankroll management so we would result into profit.

It's easier said than done to be honest, but we are gamblers, we have an individual belief, however our record does not lie so we better check it first before we will say that we are already successful in gambling, lastly, we need to be realistic.

You should have opened a poll to know exactly how many are losing and if they really represent the majority of the section or not

This is a good suggestion IMO but this poll will only serve this forum which we can certainly get less than 500 poll voters while in overall we have millions of gamblers, so it could still be irrelevant if we are talking about the overall number, but anyway it could help so see a small picture within the forum only.

There's not tip I could share to increase your winning since every game have different ways to analyze but I think I could share some tips to minimize your losses. I think you should do like a martingale betting wherein you can try to bet a small amount and if you lose try to double it with the odds of 1.5 and above.

Sometimes it works, sometime it's not, if it is effective many gambling sites will close because this is the most, widely used strategy for betting, newbies and veterans have used it, and they can testified that it's not 100% effective, even if you do a lot of variation, you need to be well funded to chase your losses, I have 14 straight losses doing this and I lose it all in the 14th and when I start again in the 15th roll that's where I won.

Usually I'm just a small time better in a game, I place a bet just a small amount of money since I'm not that lucky to win every bet I’ve made. We need to minimize the amount to bet if we don't want to lose big in one round. I still try to do that because that is the only way that I can do to manage my money from losing. I agree that self-control and discipline will be a need for every gambler because that can avoid losing more than we can afford. Sometimes, placing a small amount will work for us to win and collect the win money, so slowly we can recover our losses before. But we need to have control our games because if it's not, we will lose more. In that case you are solely gambling for fun, without your favorite team playing, you won't enjoy the game and hence you will not put your bet. Thing is, when you are into sports betting, it's not necessary that you bet on your favorite team, you only bet on a team where you see there's a value.

I don't mind losing. What I'm just doing is to give my best everytime I bet.

How to minimize losing? Then be serious about making an analysis. It's not that it's a sure win but the goal here is, to increase the chance of winning by using all our the resources we can rely on.

Thinking about how much we lose on the process will just result in chasing those losses and hence, can affect improving our future strategy.

Betting on favorite team is something dangerous imo, it can be something that makes you over confident to bet more because you believe that the favorite will win easily. We have just seen some matches on CL such as Manchester United vs Basaksehir, if someone is a big fan of MU and he placed too much money on MU because it is his favorite team without doing more researches before placing bet then I can call it as a suicide. Dont bet more just because your favorite team is going to play against weak/non favorite team. This kind of action that makes gambler lose more in sports betting.

gambling isnt about memorizing to be profitable but being responsible in gambling is a sure thing that can be done by any gambler . i was once an adict but i said to my self that im stronger than my mind . our minds cant control us or dictate our life but we can get out on an unhealthy habit .

If you're betting based on luck then bet only with little/small amount once or occasionally. You should have the skills and be consistently profitable before you can start betting consistently and with higher amounts.
Bet but don't gamble

betting higher amount wont hurt if you dont do it often . we dont really need a precise skills before we can play gambling and we can still experience to win consistently but its better if we dont try to over gamble just to prove that we can .

The question is can a gambler be responsible? Gambling (or taking big risk) in betting world does not sound responsible to me. A bettor can however minimize risk or drastically reduce risk by betting with amount he/she can afford to lose/risk. You could be a big bettor if you are skilled and consistently profitable in bets, otherwise it's recommended to bet with small amount.
If you earn a thousand dollars monthly and risk/squander half of it in bets every month then you could be called a gambler, and that is clearly irresponsible thing to do.
 I wouldn't bet big amount (even occasionally) if am not sure of winning. I can't afford to risk that
