There only reason we are losing is either we are in bad luck or we did not analyze well the match and the team. Honestly there's really no assurance who would win even the other team has the higher odds there's still a possibility that they are going to win.

This is my personal experience:

Say I deposited x BTC. I placed a bet with some money and won it. I have now 1.25x BTC. Let's say I keep winning and make 2x. In the next bet I lose half of the balance I have and now I am back to my initial. Again keep betting and winning makes a total of 3x. Now betting and losing and betting and over all my balance is 1.5x. Keep betting and at some point you have 0.5x. Again keep betting and win some and you have 0.75x. Keep betting and now you have 0.1x BTC. You are nearly lost everything so you gamble with whatever left and loss all.

I would like to add that you also should bet on the teams where you know the performance of each player and its coach. You also should know that odds will not be on your favor unless you are a bookie. I only lose if the mechanics has lots of requirement to be fullfilled before winning.

I think that I am lucky since I have won few competitions and generally have a positive balance in my preferred sportbookie.
But I am playing since a lot of time (15+ years). I didn't generate "WOW" wins but mostly of my bets are conservative and played below @2 odds.
Best suggestion I can give? Play live with exchange only single match. Play only if you are very confident, mostly it's not luck.
Every win is a win, even with a small pot, or you accept a cash out option.

You have to realize that no matter how long you bet or gamble, you will end up losing more than winning and all without realizing it.

If you are betting to much on the teams you didn't familiar then provably this will be the outcome of your bets, but I'd you only bet on the one you are familiar and focus to search more about the league then a higher chances for you to win.

The most obvious answer is we are losing because the house edge, after all it is known that no amount of money management strategies or betting patterns are going to change the probabilities of winning and losing, so the house has an edge over us and unless we can overcome with our own analysis we are going to continue to be losers, and I have yet to see someone sharing their strategy to be a winner in sports betting, and while there are some out there most of them depend on using arbitrage to make profits and I have yet to see one that can bet the house by just using their skill.

I'm winning some bets and losing others, but mostly losing on average, even though not by a high margin. I think that it's at least partially related to the fact that I'm not a pro in sports. However, I've seen people who seem good at sports, but often have these losing streaks (but maybe their overall balance is actually positive, I don't know), so I'm not sure that's it. I guess one is almost bound to lose because there are many unpredictable outcomes in sports. Comparing of percentage of losers to those who do gamble with sports betting than to those who do play with luck based games is much more lesser.Well, losing is inevitable but all

Maybe you are betting on the games on which you are not sure about the results of them so you are losing more than you win and also people bet on their favorite team all the time but it doesn't mean our favorite team will win all the times so we have to bet on the better team not on our favorite team.

Maybe you are betting on the games on which you are not sure about the results of them so you are losing more than you win and also people bet on their favorite team all the time but it doesn't mean our favorite team will win all the times so we have to bet on the better team not on our favorite team.

The only time you decide to stop gambling was when you experienced a massive amount of losses that make you have financial difficulties, reduce work, etc. Gambling is definitely based on your luck, whether it is a high or low bet, so you could win. But for me, as long as you enjoy playing sports betting or other gambling games and don't encounter any side effects because you only gamble for fun and entertainment, it is okay to play gambling for a while just don't aim too much for profits.

The only advice I can give is once you won don't try to enjoy those winning and don't be greedy since once you win I am sure that you still wanted win more isn't well in fact that is not good and might ended up losing and once you lose you will be thinking of recovering those losses and might lose more.

I doubt it is only game of analyzing which everybody believe is so helpful but do ypu know that all the stats sometimes will only makes you confused once you have read it all but the outcome often fails.
At that moment you may will think "this is bullshit" and since the beginning it is always about luck.

When you want to bet on the favorite team, you must have input about each team to know how big the percentage for each team and which team that can win. If your favorite team doesn't have a high percentage, you don't have to select them, but you can select the opponent. Sometimes we go for different strategies by increase our bet size and check for live bets. I'm not one of those mate,because I only Bet when my favorite teams of fighters will Play and at least i have big percentage to win.

Analysis is important when it comes to betting, you should not just bet because the standing of the team are more good than the other one. The analysis that you should do is depends on what kind of sports it is. When it comes to basketball and other team sports; individual and team analysis are both important. We should consider the health of every members especially when it comes to basketball, there are times that there are players who are in bad state that resulted to their performance to get bad also. I do not have 100% win rate in sports betting but I have high win rate and it is above 65% so most of my bets are always winning but still losing is inevitable because I considered the risks which is there is no perfect strategy here in sports betting. Maybe because i am too confident and not looking for the real score instead i believe the team or the fighters that i am betting for.

Over confidence can be a factor when it comes to losing wherein you keep making bets without analyzing the game itself first. Not all gambler do think as such, most especially those with self control. Though everyone in this industry want to win games, but not all went into the games solely becasue of the wins. Before COVID screwed everything up this year I had done fairly well across the last 3+ years essentially betting full time with an ROI of around 5.5% which was as well as one can hope for with a large enough sample. I've made some money after the leagues restarted but it became hard to model and I just about broke even since July.

A few things:

Top flight European soccer spreads and even goals are unbettable. The bookies have far too sharp of lines, especially since they have access to data you don't (unless you pay a ton of money or know how to access some stuff you aren't supposed to). There are viable markets in things like bookings, corners, in part because they are somewhat incidental - nobody plays to get booked or relies on a lot of corners to win - and somewhat related to referee performance as well. Those are the kind of data you can actually get and do some modeling with but it's still not that great of markets.

COVID also really screwed up the lower leagues in out of the way countries and that's really the biggest shame when it comes to betting on soccer. Advanced metrics haven't really hit the lower youth leagues in countries like Algeria or Tanzania or Iran yet but you can bet on them nonetheless. This gives you a better shot at finding something the bookies missed. U20 internationals in South America, some of the lower league North African matches can be wildly mispriced and that's the sort of opportunity you really need. I had a leg up as I logged 10,000+ hours of Football Manager over just 4 editions and have some familiarity with almost any league that made it into the game at some point (and took Ireland to two World Cups in the same save)  but hey, it really teaches you a lot.

MLB, NBA, and NHL are actually still excellent markets but for completely different reasons. MLB's advanced metrics (sabermetrics) is so ridiculously advanced and the data entirely accessible instantaneously direct from the league down to the angle and speed of each pitch and each swing of the bat that there's a lot of stuff that the bookies simply can't keep up with. I'm not sure if it's really bettable if you aren't familiar with advanced metrics and projections at that level, but if you are there are gaping mispricings every day and the season goes for 162 games (when COVID isn't around) and so the dataset is huge and more importantly, bookies have trouble pivoting on quickly enough on real-time changes that you would be abl to notice in game and then test out immediately with data, and they run on a lot of old assumptions and "common wisdom" which doesn't play out in practice. COVID ruined this but for as long as I have data on the lines, spring training games where the "road" team is an AL team that didn't make the playoffs the year prior, just betting on that would leave you up 200 units up since 2007. Those games don't even count, but they count for money. This was in part due to bookies assigning a home team advantage when in spring training there's next to no home field advantage and they forget that after the 7th inning they swap out every player and put in random minor leaguers. There are a few other really obvious and consistently mispriced lines in baseball betting and can make you a fairly tidy sum of money. Remember that you should be betting on value anyway, so you're really betting against how well the bookies are setting the lines, not other actual people or even the teams in a sense (unless you're in a betting exchange situation but those don't exist for Americans). Stuff like weather, umpire, bullpen fatigue, whether a pitcher works well with a catcher or not are all elements that in the aggregate can give you a 1-2% edge if you correctly take into account. I have a 16% ROI from just betting on ML dogs in baseball spring training 2019.

NBA is even better since there's basically 0 point in betting on anything for the whole game. First quarter, first half road dogs, filter by the obviously related params like strength of bench and turnovers, can really be great bets. Last few years the Nets, the Hawks, and the Grizzlies managed to do incredibly well in the 1st half and then consistently blow the second half. 1st half ML bets are a god damn goldmine. Particularly for road dogs, I have a 23% ROI after 239 wagers going 93-139-7, offsetting a fairly bad home ML dog record of -5% ROI. Something similar goes for hockey.

Some countries definitely have rigged games all the time though. Don't bet on Serbian domestic soccer, or the Chinese domestic league, or quite a few others. Stick to leagues where the pay is high enough to make rigging matches a bad deal.

Also, you're in it for the long haul anyway so variance is gonna be a thing no matter what. Don't panic and run your analysis. Individual results matter if you're a supporter, but as a bettor it is just what it is. I try not to bet on or against teams I support though, and leave most of the work to bots when it comes to placing the bets.

But anyway, yeah, it's entirely possible to make money doing this, but you'll need to be a step ahead of the bookie and really understand analytics and data or exploit any knowledge gaps. You can only have an edge in winning in sport betting if can stick with the sport you are well versed or knowledgeable in it else you may continue to lose your bets, avoid gambling randomly without being focus on a particular sport.

Lack of planning and lack of experience can result to have bad performance in sports betting, I make sure first that I'm in the mood before I bet in a certain sport because I want to have positive emotions first for me to able to think and analyze the performance of different teams. I often do sports betting in NBA but now there are still no games and I recently switch in PBA where it is now in playoffs and there is now elimination. You bring another good point, making sport bets in a physical casino comes with an even higher cost because as you say you have to tip the people there out of your winnings and while this may not seem to be a big deal as you say the difference between a gambler that makes money in sport bets and one that loses it can be very small, when people look at that 53% win rate they think it is a very low but for the people that really know sports bets they know that someone that is winning that many times he is at least producing some profits out of the casino, nothing spectacular but winning money is always better than losing money.

For me i'll just accept the fact that the principle of gambling is losing and winning. We tend to lose a lot of money in sports betting because sometimes we are too confident and go all-in that the team we choose will win the match but later on unexpectedly sometimes it fail. It happens to me many times, I always rely on statistics of the team I always choose the strongest and won most of it but my last bet made me quit, so frustrating because after the successive winnings next is a very hard loss.

As for me, it's because of a lack of discipline and self-control. Sometimes we're carried by too much hype on our bet. Knowing our limits as we enter gambling would be a big help. As gambling professionals always advise, we should only bet what we could afford to lose because winning in gambling is mostly by luck.
