Why most of us are losing money in sports betting?

I believe that most of us are losing money in sports betting, but I'd like to know based on what you read and your experience (if you have) the reasons why we are losing. Personally, I've been gambling for years, I'm just an ordinary gambler who can't be too serious with gambling, but I can't deny that I have been losing money more than I win.

managing your bankroll well would be really helpful if you want to minimize your losses try just to bet with small amount the risk is low but also the profit is small but at least you still have a profit.

There only reason we are losing is either we are in bad luck or we did not analyze well the match and the team. Honestly there's really no assurance who would win even the other team has the higher odds there's still a possibility that they are going to win.

What I do to minimize my losses is that I'm not thinking the how much did I lose since when I started thinking and counting it I ended up trying to recover it which leads me to more losses.

This is my personal experience:

Say I deposited x BTC. I placed a bet with some money and won it. I have now 1.25x BTC. Let's say I keep winning and make 2x. In the next bet I lose half of the balance I have and now I am back to my initial. Again keep betting and winning makes a total of 3x. Now betting and losing and betting and over all my balance is 1.5x. Keep betting and at some point you have 0.5x. Again keep betting and win some and you have 0.75x. Keep betting and now you have 0.1x BTC. You are nearly lost everything so you gamble with whatever left and loss all.

See here - actually you own, you won several times. You even tripled your investment but you never pulled the trigger or never did the money management.

In gambling a gambler lose because he does not know when to stop and where to stop for a day. He does not have a good money management knowledge. He keeps gambling until he lost the initial. Greed plays the major role. In fact the entire gambling industry is standing on the only one human characteristic which is "Greed of making easy money"

I would like to add that you also should bet on the teams where you know the performance of each player and its coach. You also should know that odds will not be on your favor unless you are a bookie. Do not bet a lot in games, remember that once you lose, the money that comes with it will also lose, this helps you to psychologically trick your mind to regret spending that amount of money in betting which could result in you minimizing the amount you are betting. If avoidable, try to go to for physical sports betting instead of online, assuming that you also gamble with fiat, this helps you to also mitigate the money that you will lose because you will see the physical manifestation of your bet via cash instead of numbers in a website.

I only lose if the mechanics has lots of requirement to be fullfilled before winning.
So one of the reasons of a loss is maybe the game difficulty. My suggestion pick easy betting sports bookies, like OneHash or Sportbet because you only need your team to win and that's it. Then you'll get instantly get paid.

this was a simillar complain to those who play for the signup bonus but we aint talking about the bonus and i understand that you arent pointing to them but what was that site where their sportbetting has an unusual rule ? supposed to be a betting site will let you win once the team or player that  you pick win unless if its a multi bet where you need to win a couple if games before you got paid .

to @op thats a common event and this dont only apply to sport betting but on any type of gambling  as well . we loose because there is called an edge in gambling but with the right knowledge and skills , we can somehow beat the edge for a short period of time .

I think that I am lucky since I have won few competitions and generally have a positive balance in my preferred sportbookie.
But I am playing since a lot of time (15+ years). I didn't generate "WOW" wins but mostly of my bets are conservative and played below @2 odds.
Best suggestion I can give? Play live with exchange only single match. Play only if you are very confident, mostly it's not luck.
Every win is a win, even with a small pot, or you accept a cash out option.

I think because of the lack of discipline, we need to learn how to manage ourselves when we are losing or we are winning so we will not be in trouble in the end. Being greedy is one of the big reason too, why we are greedy? because we lack the discipline to implement our game plan, and if we don't have a game plan, most likely we will lose in the long run as we are sailing without a map.

It seems like it's easy to say TBH but in reality it's hard to implement it in action as our emotion or ourselves is our biggest enemy.

You have to realize that no matter how long you bet or gamble, you will end up losing more than winning and all without realizing it.
Learning from mistakes and what to fix when you are gambling and playing casually will allow you to play carefully and thoroughly, and do a good analysis before betting and follow your heart after you have analyzed because sometimes your conscience will bring good luck.

All people are lacking the discipline because obviously we are human and the wants of the human is unlimited meaning it is infinity so that when we are winning in a betting game or in a gambling we are encourage to bet again a huge amount in a chance to win huge also, and the cycle goes by. This probably the reason why many people are losing money in a sports betting game and in fact not only in a sports betting because there are so many people who are losing on E-Games also.

There's not tip I could share to increase your winning since every game have different ways to analyze but I think I could share some tips to minimize your losses. I think you should do like a martingale betting wherein you can try to bet a small amount and if you lose try to double it with the odds of 1.5 and above.

For me and probably most of the people, it's emotions. I've tried and found that following expert pics that are available for free on the forum or over the internet would make you positive in the long run. But I'm never satisfied with what I get and my emotions take control over any rules I make when I'm either betting for my favorite team or in a longer losing streak. Martingale too works much better in sports betting but people don't have a patience as much as when they dice.

You will surely have many different replies to your post, in my opinion, it will surely depend on peoples luck and if this is sports betting research is the key to making large percentage in winning every game or matches and I think managing your bankroll and lessening the money in getting into gambling may not improve your winning but may lessen your money loses, people will have a different opinion when it comes to sports betting it is a matter of handling decisions.

If you are betting to much on the teams you didn't familiar then provably this will be the outcome of your bets, but I'd you only bet on the one you are familiar and focus to search more about the league then a higher chances for you to win.

But sometimes we can't deny the fact that bad luck sometimes hits and so if you feel you are starting to lose just stop to minimize the damage just bet next time when we are relax to place your bets again.

The only advice I can give is once you won don't try to enjoy those winning and don't be greedy since once you win I am sure that you still wanted win more isn't well in fact that is not good and might ended up losing and once you lose you will be thinking of recovering those losses and might lose more.

Basically what caused gambler lost of money during gambling is the lack of management. Most gamblers careless about what they are winning or losing, sometimes when we win we tend to continue the games until we loss everything again which bring us back to step one. The most obvious answer is we are losing because the house edge, after all it is known that no amount of money management strategies or betting patterns are going to change the probabilities of winning and losing, so the house has an edge over us and unless we can overcome with our own analysis we are going to continue to be losers, and I have yet to see someone sharing their strategy to be a winner in sports betting, and while there are some out there most of them depend on using arbitrage to make profits and I have yet to see one that can bet the house by just using their skill.
