[ANN][ISR] Isracoin - The Israeli cryptocurrency

Hello everyone,

As usual, we are working on a bunch of things at once and hope to have some very cool and perhaps even groundbreaking announcements soon. Yet until then, we also have a fun little treat especially for the international community.

If you're following Isracoin closely, you probably saw we finished developing our coupons system for the Israeli public a few days ago and have put it to the test with really, REALLY nice results (we tested the system by issuing a coupon for voting on HitBTC exchange and what do you know.. we are closing in on #4 on their list!) so people are clearly responding really well to these coupons (and this is just the beginning), but, we figured, why only do this for the Israeli public and not give something cool to our supportive international friends as well?

And so, without further ado (yet apparently with quite a bit of gusto), we are glad to announce our Twitter Blitzkrieg Viral System Coupons Thingie! (Codenamed: TBVSCT?!?!?!   )

ok, it's really not all that complicated as it sounds.
We definitely want to increase our social media exposure and thus, quickly developed a nice little system allowing anyone to register an Isracoin wallet with a Twitter ID and then retweeting any @Isracoin tweets (up to 10 days old) and immediately get a few coins as a token of our appreciation for helping spread the word!

So,

step 1: Follow http://twitter.com/isracoin

step 2: register your wallet addr with a tweet that contains
" #MyIsracoinAddress iLVFqnEGX3w7JJNY2N6idhByXipUVQRtoc "
(with your own wallet address of course! you only need to do this one time. that's it.)

step 3: retweet any original @Isracoin tweets less than 10 days old.

step 4: Profit!

(takes a few minutes for coins to be sent and you need to have >40 followers to participate, with 1 coin for >40 users and an additional coin per 300 more people with a current max of 5 ISR per retweet. you can't get coins for retweeting the same tweet over and over. nor can you register more than one address)

Please help us test this system and be cool about bugs and problems as this literally just came out. Hopefully it will bring plenty of new followers and retweeters and be a great tool for propagating all sorts of news that we have in the pipeline.

I would second that feeling, some tangible results would be highly appreciated and not just marketing talk.

1. Dan Goldman said: “There are many businesses who already contacted us to express their interest, but until Phase-I is officially opened, we cannot yet integrate them. Suffice it to say that the number of businesses who contacted us far outnumbers that of businesses who already accept Bitcoin in Israel. This is before we even started our media campaign for Phase-I, so we imagine the numbers will drastically grow once we do.”
On July the 4th the following statement was made: “The business directory is in process and we hope to have it ready within a week or so. This development also includes a simplification of the business registration/verification process and some management tools.” Today is July the 16th.
How about providing some insides on this?  as on isracoin.org it only states: statistics coming soon,,, for more than a month, maybe even months.

2. The English Forum at isracoin.org don’t seem to be properly maintained, this because obvious at the electronics for sale adds that have been posted and don’t get removed. If you need help maintaing it, you could reach out to the community.

3. Heavy weight developer joining the core dev team -> Can you give a name? Why is this not mentioned on the isrcoin facebook page?


I just starting to get a bit concerned that isracoin might just sizzle out as auroracoin did before. There still seems to be some progress (like the ATM in customs, paper wallet, Mikael B. (34) and Shalom Cohen (34) joining, Gambling), but from far away it hard to evaluate what is real and what is just an illusion.
I guess there two ways to make money with a pre-mined coin on is to hype it for a while and the other is to buy or mine before anybody except yourself believes in it and build it up until gets used as a mean of payment in the real world. I hope ISR takes the second route, because I think there is lots of potential here and if there are real benefits for the customers.

Therefore providing the list with the business would be highly beneficial (if existing), because otherwise it is just monopoly money. Most businesses should be thankful for the additional attention.

We'd like to point out that when we keep quiet until certain developments are ready to be released, we get feedback that we should keep updating on progress instead.
When we do just that and provide updates on what is being developed and is not yet ready, we hear feedback about why things aren't ready yet even though we wrote about them.

Guys, patience is a virtue. We are working as fast as we can within all the constraints we have to deal with.
While so many (if not most) coins have gone the way of the dodo and their developers disappearing and leaving the general public hanging, we at Isracoin are steadfast and diligent and are doing everything we possibly can to deliver.

Specifically regarding the business directory and other related developments, we are hard at work on that (we are building it alongside a few other things that will be combined into one portal) and we've had other things to take care of in between.
We did not give any hard deadlines for this since we couldn't guarantee them.

Take a deep breath and let us do what we do, which is deliver.
Mind you, it is also a bit difficult to accomplish certain things when everyone is transfixed on the domestic security issues for several weeks now. Kind of hard to get attention from the press and other media, get business interest and so on.

Building infrastructure is the most drawn out, slow and hard process of all, yet it is undoubtedly the best if not the only way to bring long term success in this field. That is exactly what we are doing.

As someone who's helping a bit on the design and marketing process at the moment, I can confidently say that there's A LOT happening at the moment. Most of what I see is happening in Israel.

Isracoin have managed to acquire a great range of powerful allies all throughout the community.

On a personal level I've seen work at conferences, creation of new cooperatives related to the coin, lots of activity on the Hebrew facebook group, thousands of people signing up and receiving their Airdrop coins, and the spread of paper marketing techniques.

I'm guessing most of you are here just to make a return of investment. For you, just be patient and don't worry - you'll get your return with time, and even more than that!

To be fair, this is a really bad time to launch ISR. Lots of controversy about Israel's actions.

Do you plan to show how many Israeli citizens registered for 100 ISR? it's not less important than knowing the amount of businesses who agreed to accept ISR.

For me it's an indication of how many people believe in this coin - especially when the price is so low.

Another thing is... how do you see the future price for this coin? you seemed very optimistic when this coin's price surged up when the coin reached it's peak so I assume that you didn't expect the price to fall that low.

Mining this coin right now is just not profitable, so I wonder what are your thoughts about the situation.

Yes, some of us work full time on Isracoin.
(In fact, even much much more than just full time).

As for the price, we actually had no expectation of the price going up early on and the fact that it did was not in the plans and even cause us some problems because we knew it was not based on anything tangible yet, which is also why it went down afterwards.
The only reason Isracoin will go up in value is because of expansion of infrastructure which in turn will draw more and more people to use it in some fashion. We said from the get go that it is a long term project and that has not changed for us.

It is true that a low price makes it harder to get media exposure which is what we need for market penetration and yet thousands of people already registered for the Airdrop. What we are doing now is prepping all sorts of new infrastructure as well as big news items and are biding out time until this latest fighting round is over in order to come out with some cool stuff in the news to get things going a bit more.
(It's very hard to get media attention these days for anything not related to Israel's security issues and while one may think this has only been the case for the past 10 days or so, in fact it has been like that since those poor 3 teenagers were kidnapped and murdered over a month ago or so).

The fact that thousands of people have already signed up for airdrop coins when a) the value of the coins being given is, as you said, so low. and b) we cannot get any media coverage whatsoever until things quiet down, should indicate to you just how very much people are interested in what we are doing. This is just the beginning for us and as more and more infrastructure is put in place, things will build more and more towards a critical mass.
The day we reach that critical mass, is the day you will see many people eating their hats.
