There's always a bad side of things if used excessively even food can be bad too but there are lots of people who take everything excessively especially those things that have given them bad results. If you play more than you have then that will fell into addiction and when you think of it every day, then that falls into addiction too. This is where most people fall into, they cannot control their desire, and most of the time they affected some people with that kind of mindset too. Those countries are top to those kinds of people.

If they only see it that way, other government see it as more than addiction that need to stop and can destroy individual life for long time  if they continue playing or gambling. Although that's a self decision not by  the government but they want to help them  to stop by doing it illegal .

Some of them just want to stop the illegal gambling but still, we know that they want only is the legal gambling with permits and other papers, is this quite fair? Because those illegal gambling does not have tax so the government wants to take down them. Well, I think it's just good because we are preventing illegal but at the same time how about the people who get caught just want to play? Just my thought.

At the end of the day, I will agree with legal gambling because there are a lot of people enjoying this without worrying about lawfulness.

Contradiction comes from their sources probably! I don't even know how they can do the math these days, except legal gambling sites and casinos you have illegal ones, and we have crypto gambling! To gather accurate information from all of them is impossible!

Gambling with a legal consent is a good and very freely to play and enjoy. I agree to the idea that it is more enjoyable to play and of course you will not think of any other things because it is legal but I think for every positive side, there is also a negative side. I know there are lots of different person in the world. There are gamblers that is discipline and know what to do and there are also gamblers that is not. If a country make gambling legal, some people would abuse it and think of a way that makes them earn or let just say because of the greediness, some gamblers might play dirty. I'm not saying that most of gamblers, just few will abuse the legality. But I can see that gambling being legal is a good way. Also in the economy of the country. The article has been published last January 22, 2020 (if you have noticed it), and probably the surveys have been taken last 2019 (last quarter of the said year). And during that time the world is still calm and live at peace, and all businesses, gambling places were open to the public especially for the tourist people, and become their recommendation to visit.  Somehow we come into a doom situation when the Covid-19 hits us and turn into a pandemic crisis that causes the force shutdown to some of these sites but I believe that they will resume business again might be next year and still retain their position.

Las Vegas is such an awesome city with so many different casinos. The hole city and county lives of the gambling revenues. Unfortunately many other countries don't have such a centralised gambling city. Except maybe Macau there are not really other places to compare. They certainly have the statistics, but sometimes they will focus on a crime that is more serious, not everyone who commit crimes are related to gambling, so gambling isn't that bad, it's just there are people who really are irresponsible and have become drug addict and they think of committing crime. Usual cause of crime are illegal drugs and alcohol, so gambling is out in the picture because most gamblers are not criminals, meaning people enjoy gambling.
