But if we go on your argument that we are going to hold in the next 10 years then yeah, possible, as you as you have a tough mentality to hold in that span of time. Anyhow, I'm basing on my experience, I have stocks that I hold for more than 10 years so it's doable. The only thing that might sway people though is that crypto is very unstable and risky because of it's volatility.

I think the perception of climate impact is the biggest danger to Bitcoin long term.

That is why there needs to be some sort of concerted community effort to change this somehow.

If a small part of Bitcoin's capitalisation could be ploughed back into this, then it would set it apart from other coins such as Litecoin (which is probably bitcoins biggest threat as a store of value - and apart from supply, which is divisible anyhow, there isn't much difference between the 2).

Then again, many miners probably mine altcoins too, so perhaps this is a problem for the whole market and the more coins that join in, the more intractable the problem becomes.

Yeah it is. However, I'm putting most of my bags on Ethereum since I sold Bitcoin too early. Either way, it's all about getting the right seeds to plant and bear fruit later on. Yes, but always remember out about the risk because not all would really be having a happy ending.You wouldnt know if those plants/btc that you had planted wont wither or die in the end of line.
So you should really be prepared on the possibilities that would happen but somehow on seeing the current situation or progress of bitcoin in over a decade then you can eventually tell
that this one will really last long in future years to come.If you can risk out to put up some money or investment on just like on planting trees then this time it might pay out ahead just

We all think that bitcoin will reach much higher prices in the future. That's why we are constantly trying to increase the amount of bitcoin we have. Even later than 2009-2011 is an amazing investment. In 2012 - 2013 a it still gave you a 1000x. There won't be anything like Bitcoin again our lifetime I think. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity (maybe it still is, who knows at what price Bitcoin will be trading in on year from now).

The whole question is when this bullish trend will end and be replaced by a bearish trend... Good analogy there OP. Most of us buy bitcoin as a long term investment, we are not planning to spend it until we retire or until the value we want is achieved. We just keep accumulating bitcoin because we know that it will benefit us a lot in the future. It's like bitcoin is the tree, and we are the earth. Once those trees are fully grown it can protect well the earth like our future if we accumulated enough amount of bitcoin..
