BETNOMI has opened the door for us to have a new poker series ran on their site. They ran a couple freerolls for everyone to test out the platform and try different starting stacks to see which suited everyone, now it's time to get the series started.

Information

The series will feature 8 qualifier tournaments, a Grand Final and a Runners Up Final. There is an internal points structure, where you accumulate points to qualify for the Grand Final. If you are a regular player, you will automatically qualify for the Small Final(not open for qualifiers into the Grand Final).

We play Texas No Limit Hold'em, the starting stacks are 25000 chips, blind levels are 10 minutes and there is no late registration available.

Also considered opening a telegram group if you guys wanted to talk about this without it being on the forum. I'll leave that up to you.

The guarantee will also be changed as well. I am introducing a tier system. This will motivate you guys to bring in more players. The more average participants, the higher the finale guarantee will be. The average will take all the players who joined each tourney and divide it by 8. That will give you the average # of participants. For example 20 players join 5 games and 30 players join 3 games, that will give you an average of 23.75 players, meaning a 1250 euro finale game.

The tiers are as follows:

0-12 players average= $750  finale
13-24 players = $1250  finale
25+ = $1750  finale

Telegram
TELEGRAM

Entry fee and PW Info

The entry fee per tournament is 15 euros. The site allows BTC deposits but your currency is shown in USD.

There are no entry fees for the Grand Final and the Small Final.

The tournaments are password protected, you will get the passwords via Personal Message (PM) in this forum or on telegram. Just pm me.
Tourney Schedule

A total of 8 qualifier tournaments will be played inside 8 weeks, Sundays 5PM GMT. If possible, register as early as possible, since there is no late registration available.

Q#1: 1/24/2021
Q#2: 1/31/2021
Q#3: 2/07/2021
Q#4: 2/14/2021
Q#5: 2/21/2021
Q#6: 2/28/2021
Q#7: 3/07/2021
Q#8: 3/14/2021

How the points work

To determine who will qualify for the Grand Final, we have an internal point structure, where you get a number of points for each tournament, when you finished inside the Top 10.

10th = 1 Point
9th = 2 Points
8th = 3 Points
7th = 4 Points
6th = 5 Points
5th = 6 Points
4th = 7 Points
3rd = 8 Points
2nd = 9 Points
1st = 10 Points

If two or more players have the same amount of points after 8 tournaments, the average finishing position in all tournaments participated will be the tie-breaker.

Grand Final

The 9 players with the most points from our internal point system will be eligible to play the Grand Final, which will take place on "Undertermined". You will likely  have to register for this tournament with a password I will send to all the qualifiers and don't have to pay an entry fee. Betnomi is sponsoring $1000 for this tournament.

1st: 40.1% of Prize Pool
2nd: 39.9% of Prize Pool
3rd: 20% of Prize Pool

Not sure if I can change this. This looks to be their standard payout on 9 players. If nothing else winners can transfer $$$ between each other if you guys are set on 50% 30% 20%

The Little Final

Every player who joined at least 2 of the 8 qualifying tournaments, will be eligible to play in the Small Final, no matter how many points they accumulated. You will receive a password for this tournament and don't have to pay an entry fee. TBD: I prefer only players to participate in this who have not qualified for the Grand Finale.

The date  is TBA and the prize is $250.

Spreadsheet

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OOETV-EIj7o8UjwINUw3YjGOruqRrOB0D5QN36CJq9w/edit#gid=1983278553

You can follow and monitor all happenings in the spreadsheet:

If you have any questions or find any mistakes, feel free to mention it in the dedicated threads or PM "Undetermined"

Miscellaneous

I am adding a rule for the little losers tourney. You must compete in 4/8 games in order to qualify.

And here it is! Smiley

I am in! Last Sunday evening was "empty" without poker game! I thought to enter some random tournament, but after a quick search I gave up... the ones I found interesting (buy-in, reward...) had 25 levels late registration...it was I need to play hours and hours...

0-12 players average= $750  finale
13-24 players = $1250  finale
25+ = $1750  finale

I think this is fair! I wrote about this game whenever I can...  Kolloh is on Bitdice chat often, I told a few days ago that we will play another series, I will remind him about this when I see him... other than that "old" players knows about new series, I hope some of them will join us for one more round!

1st: 40.1% of Prize Pool
2nd: 39.9% of Prize Pool
3rd: 20% of Prize Pool

The last Grand Finale prize distribution was 50%, 30% and 20%

I am in! Last Sunday evening was "empty" without poker game! I thought to enter some random tournament, but after a quick search I gave up... the ones I found interesting (buy-in, reward...) had 25 levels late registration...it was I need to play hours and hours...

Thats normal if you are a hardcore MTT grinder but if it is a bounty hunter tournament then there is an advantage with playing for hours before the registration ended. You could knock out few recreational players , build some good stack for a deep run and probably make it to the final table

0-12 players average= $750  finale
13-24 players = $1250  finale
25+ = $1750  finale

I think this is fair!

The previous series has 11.25 on average with 90 entries. We need 14 more atleast to get $1250 guaranteed prizepool for the Grand Finale. It would be great if we could have $1750 but yeah We'll settle with 15+ players on average for now

@johhnyUA : I hope you read this and will consider to join this series, buy in for the tournament is 15 euro or somewhere around $12.86  Smiley

Sounds good. I'll set an alarm for Sunday as I'll be sleeping off a nightshift. Apart from that layout looks good, price point is down a bit maybe that'll help bring in a few stragglers. Get your PM's sent folks and let's get these spots filled. It would be nice to get to the top tier prizepool, but I'd be happy with the mid tier. If we can average what we had in the 2nd and 3rd series I believe we would hit it.

I'm in. At least for few first games. Also asked the friend of mine (he played with us before on SwC poker).

But i have a question about buy in:
Entry fee and PW Info

The entry fee per tournament is 15 euros. The site allows BTC deposits but your currency is shown in USD.

And in PM this is what i've got:
The buy in is roughly 12.50 usd each week. The tourney shows everything in Euros but you'll see only a little over 12 dollars is deducted when you enter.

15 euros is around 16.5 dollars. Does it mean that Betnomi take for itself 4 dollars per player?

By the way, I have a great idea ... Cyrus started working hard on the Bitcointalk server.

Its goal is to turn the server into a large crypto community that will ultimately help popularize Bitcointalk and attract new users to the forum. And I am 100% sure that he will gladly create a separate section for us "poker players". #PokerSeries. There are about 300 people on the server, and I am sure that moving from Telegram to Discord will be an excellent solution.

$12.62 is what will be deducted from your account each time you play I believe. When you check out the tourney it will show $15xx but it only charges what I said previously.

It's honestly confusing how they do it. All I know is it should show a little over $15 to enter but charges you in euros value which is roughly 12.62. Also pays out the same way.

What time is the game on Sunday in UK terms?

My game isn't until 10 pm so I may be able to play this.

Game should be around 5 pm for you. You can look in the lobby and see the start time.

The buy in will show as 12.62 euro on your screen but your balance should be deducted exactly $12.62

I have just registered few minutes ago so I can confirm about this

-snip-

That would be great and would help promote this series to others that never check the gambling section at all.

So Im the first one that have registered and Im commited to win this series after getting the runner up seat two series in a row. We might have alot of new players for this series, lets have some good time on the series  Smiley

Can I play in BETNOMI through VPN? Do they want a KYC on withdrawal?

I would love to play in the series, but it seems I'm in a banned location: The owner of this website (www.betnomi.com) has banned the country

Thanks

Can I play in BETNOMI through VPN? Do they want a KYC on withdrawal?

I would love to play in the series, but it seems I'm in a banned location: The owner of this website (www.betnomi.com) has banned the country

Thanks

Yes I tested it through a VPN regards to playing at lease.

Apparently they aren't too KYC hot but you know if you win a lot you probably will have hoops to jump through.

If you are VPN'ing. I suggest only playing Poker, and in reality if it's other than just a privacy concern I would only play the series. Just advice for avoiding any unpleasantness down the road.

You are required to input details under your profile before you can withdraw, but they aren't authenticated. In most situations I imagine playing strictly poker on their site wouldn't bring up any issues or flags for KYC, as compared to placing bets, unless it appeared to be a multi-accounting problem.

+1. i'm connecting through VPN, and was able to withdraw a couple hundred bucks without any KYC authentication. i agree about steering clear of betting if you're concerned about getting KYC'd.

it's up in the air at the moment, but i'm gonna try to make tomorrow's game. i'm not sure i'll be a contender in the series given my current schedule but i should definitely make a few games at least.

thanks to @yahoo and @betnomi for putting this together!

Thank you @Globb0 and the rest for the VPN answers.

I've managed to register through VPN, but then I found out that the poker client is only Windows/Mac OS, without a Web based version. For some other reason, my VPN is browser only, so that I will skip the series.

Without more off-topic, good luck all!

The only problem that i will miss initial game (not for sure, but with big prob) because of some business in offline life at Sunday  Tongue
I also had such thoughts ... I was planning to get some rest this Sunday. But all the same, I decided that it was not worth giving @arallmuus a head start, especially considering how seriously he was determined to win this series.

People, who have a better idea?

It seems to me that from the obvious advantages, the move from Telegram to Discord will give us an impulse in the form of an influx of new players.

I've managed to register through VPN, but then I found out that the poker client is only Windows/Mac OS, without a Web based version.

There is a browser based poker client . You dont have to download anything at all, click on the play now button if you are on the poker page, it will direct you to the browser client

it was not worth giving @arallmuus a head start, especially considering how seriously he was determined to win this series.

Dang, I will try my best but the field is getting harder now compared with the previous series so I might not even make it to the top 3 depending on how bad my run is  Tongue

the move from Telegram to Discord will give us an impulse in the form of an influx of new players.

Instead of moving to discord as some probably dont use discord , a sub channel would be okay for now which consist of all information related to this poker series as well as the thread's link in it so those that are interested on the poker game could just head straight here through the link.

Reading the buzz, I thought many would join but it turned out to be the tournament with lowest attendance among all series. Pretty comfortable win for me, for most of the part I got favorable hands. Knocked out 5 out of 6 players and got 10 points (which I think would be more than necessary considering the participation as we go). It was funny kicking both @arallmuus and @Jayce with A6 within the span of few hands. Cheesy

By the way, is it just me or you guys also feel bad folding the hands like the one below? Even though I won but still can't get over the fact that I folded the following hand, lol:

I almost never look at my cards after folding them just so that I don't enter that mindset where you start feeling bad for folding and then consequently calling shit hands.

So it was just 7 of you guys tonight or? Really low attendance. I was thinking on joining but couldn't since my ISP decided to have some work done on their 3G/4G towers during Sunday and I had shitty connection all day.
