                                                           M-Port: An AI-Powered DID Platform based on Biometric Information (part 2)

Why do we need DID?

DID can be the only bridge between users and platforms.

If we take a look at the history of the Internet, the way users create their digital identities is always changing. On Web 1.0, people create their digital identities through a combination of a user name and a password. On Web 2.0, people can still create an account through user name plus password, but they also have alternative ways of logging in that often require them to provide their real names, phone numbers, email addresses, or ID documents. The problem is doing so may compromise people’s data security.

A bigger concern is that users have no control over how their personal data is used, while Internet service providers, who don’t generate any of these data, get to profit from them. Not only do people have their personal data used by big tech companies for free, but also they are taken advantage of a second time when tech companies use such data for targeted push ads.

Therefore, although DID can serve as the bridge between users and Internet service providers, we need to find ways to create digital identities that are both secure and efficient, and achieving this requires no small number of technological innovations.

DID is the most valuable innovation made possible by Web 3.0.

Thanks to features such as immutability and hash encryption, decentralised identity (DID), a previously impossible way of creating digital identities has become available.

Different from centralised identities, DID gives control of personal information back to users, who will now be able to create unique digital identifiers for themselves through a trustable system. These identifiers can be verified through cryptological means such as digital signatures. This way, both users and Internet service providers get to benefit from more trustable and secure personal information usage and management solutions enabled by the blockchain.

Thanks to DID, users will truly own their personal data and get to decide how these data can be used. This is a huge step forward compared to relying on centralised Internet service providers. In fact, Ethereum, crypto wallets and other blockchain projects have already turned DID into a reality.

DID’s Structure and Challenges

In essence, DID is a string of address identifiers directly owned and controlled by users. Each identifier has a corresponding DID file that can be used to verify logins, encrypt messages, etc. Through password proofs (such as digital signatures), entities can prove their ownership of these identifiers. Individuals or entities may also approve these identifiers for use by others through encrypted proof methods (such as digital signatures). The structure of DID is illustrated below:

In a word, DID marks a breakup with traditional centralised Internet service providers and will hand back to people absolute control over their digital identities. This way, people get to decide when, under what conditions and with whom they disclose their personal information. At the same time, the blockchain only needs to verify users’ identities but doesn’t require them to provide any additional personal information. This arrangement makes for a higher level of privacy. As DID gets wider adoption, the barrier between different DID solutions will be broken, and people won’t be isolated in separate ecosystems.

Due to technological limitations as well as regulatory requirements, DID still faces many challenges.

For one thing, decentralisation, security and efficiency are mutually exclusive and impossible to be had all at the same time. Whether it’s blockchain, DID or Web 3.0, lots of innovations and breakthroughs still need to happen before we can make the blockchain efficient enough to serve our needs.

For another, although DID is all about linking real-world people with their virtual-world identities and guaranteeing anonymity while doing so, our current DeFi solutions are incapable of connecting addresses with real-world users. As a result, many economic activities that are commonplace in the real world won’t be possible in the virtual world, and an example of this would be borrowing when you don’t have enough collateral. For this reason, ordinary ways of identification such as photos or ID documents won’t be suitable for DID on Web 3.0, which creates yet another barrier to the wide adoption of DID.

                                                                                                    MATRIX Fact Sheet 7

44- Focus and #BUIDL!

· All function modules of the new mobile wallet completed by the Matrix ecosystem team, now about to enter beta testing;

· New mobile wallet interface being designed.

45- Powered by MANAS core algorithms, ai services will play a central role in improving digital synesthesia for the #metaverse

46- Proxy promotion is an arrangement where Matrix does not participate in the commercialization of MANAS itself but will delegate business operation to third parties, who can access MANAS services through open API tools. Generally speaking, there will be two categories of third-party participants on MANAS: proxy service providers and app developers.

47- MANAS has already made its APIs public so any Metaverse platform can access AI services on MANAS through these APIs and repurpose MANAS services for the platform’s own users.

At the same time, Matrix is actively seeking partnerships with all sorts of Metaverse platforms to gather more Metaverse data to fuel the development of MANAS.

48- With the PoS-based random clustering, a small number of nodes will be chosen as delegates. The transactions are broadcast only among these delegates. In previous blockchains, transactions have to be transferred to every node in a P2P network and the latency increases as the number of nodes grows. With our algorithm, the small number of nodes enables a significantly lower latency because of the reduced overhead of broadcasting transactions". Owen Tao - CEO

49- The #metaverse will be an immersive version of the internet with interactive features using different technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 3D graphics, #5G , hologram, #NFT , #blockchain , haptic sensors, and artificial intelligence (AI).

To scale personalized content experiences to billions of people, one potential answer is generative AI, the process of using #AI algorithms on existing data to create new content.

50- The Matrix Bio wallet, attracted great attention in the financial world with its many prominent aspects.

                                                          M-Port: An AI-Powered DID Platform based on Biometric Information (III)

M-Port: A DID Solution Based on the Matrix Mainnet and Biometrics

In response to the challenges DID is facing, Matrix has come up with the perfect solution.

       Inspired by the separation of powers, Matrix has designed a Hybrid PoW consensus mechanism, which finds a perfect balance between security and performance. With a TPS of more than 10,000, M-Port will be safe and efficient to use.

       In the meantime, based on its experience developing biometric wallets, Matrix has also designed a unique AI algorithm for finger vein scanning.

       Finger vein verification provides the perfect solution for connecting the physical and the virtual worlds and will guarantee anonymity at the same time. Finger vein biometrics is unique for every person. It is not only an identity marker that everyone carries on their physical bodies but also something that governments and companies don’t collect.

The way M-Port works is as follows:

1.     It connects real-world users through finger vein biometrics;

2.     It uses blockchain to keep records and match finger vein data with users to whom the biometrics belongs;

3.     It uses distributed storage to keep user data safe;

4.     When apps connected to M-Port want to use such data, it grants them access through distributed computing.

To make all this come true, we need Matrix to provide the necessary infrastructure.

Matrix Provides the Best Infrastructure Available for M-Port

       As a next-generation DID platform, M-Port will require solid infrastructure and cutting-edge tech support.

Matrix Mainnet: A High-Performance Ledger

This high-performance ledger is none other than blockchain, which is essentially a distributed bookkeeping technology. By involving multiple parties into the bookkeeping process, blockchain can guarantee trustability, reliability and immutability.

Why do we need a high-performance ledger? This is because when valuable data are transmitted from one point to another, we need a way to guarantee the reliability of this process without recourse to centralised institutions. This is where blockchain will shine. In order for people to adopt Web 3.0 on a large scale in the future, the development of a high-performance blockchain brooks no delay.

The Matrix Mainnet currently boasts a TPS of more than 10,000, ranking among the best public chains. In the early stage of Web 3.0, this concurrency will be more than enough to support the DID of the whole network. In the future, Matrix will continue to upgrade its hardware and technologies, building a solid foundation for M-Port.

MANTA—The Ultimate Distributed Computing Platform

DID requires a technology called trustless computation. It’s a solution that enables a group of untrusting participants to collaborate on solving the same problem without compromising the privacy of each.

Take the healthcare industry for example. Hospitals are forbidden by law to leak their patients’ personal information, let alone share it without permission or sell it for profit. Paradoxically, large quantities of patient data are necessary for medical research. This is where trustless computation comes to play. Through secure multi-party computation, participants can work together on calculating, categorising and analysing data without leaking anything that can be traced to its owners.

MANTA’s distributed computing is a perfect example of trustless computation. This, in combination with machine learning, will create endless possibilities for M-Port.

Matrix IPFS—Trustable Storage

Storage is at the core of DID’s data security. Up to now, trustable storage is mostly achieved through IPFS, which has the following characteristics:

1.     Once loaded into storage, data are almost impossible to tamper with or delete

2.     All data can be directly accessed. Whether it’s text, video or music stored in an IPFS network, they are all directly accessible through hash.

Matrix’s IPFS storage is an important part of the infrastructure of Web 3.0. It is responsible for storing Web 3.0’s content and access protocols. Just like the cloud storage services we are used to today, distributed storage will become the essential infrastructure for storing and distributing content in the future.

M-PORT’s Multi-Layer Structure

Layer 1: Standards and Identifiers

The mutual trust layer of M-Port consists of standards, identifiers and namespaces. It serves to ensure standardisation, transferability and co-operability, allowing developers and users from different networks to register and manage their decentralised identities.

Layer 2: Infrastructure

Infrastructure and proxy frameworks enable apps to communicate with one another. These solutions will apply to communication, storage and private key management scenarios.

Layer 3: Proofs

A biometric DID verification system can manage, update and exchange proofs. The function of this layer is to allow users to prove their DID ownership so that data can be transferred reliably and securely.

Layer 4: Apps, Wallets and Other Products

M-Port will provide complete ports and tools for developers to build decentralised apps and products. Users will directly benefit from the convenience and efficiency of Matrix-based services.

                                                                                          MANAS Deployed to Matrix Mainnet

Dear Matrixian,

After the upgrade, MANAS will consist of a decentralised part and a centralised part. The centralised part consists of :

1.     A user account system,

2.     A front-end management and operation interface for users, and

3.     API access and management functions.

The decentralised part is powered by Matrix, and it will consist of IPFS, MANTA and mining machines. Its functions include:

1.     Distributed storage of AI services,

2.     Distributed operation of AI services, and

3.     On-chain storage and bookkeeping for services and account transaction information.

Below shows how the platform operates

The Distributed Operation of AI Services

After upgrading, AI services on MANAS will run in a distributed fashion. When people use services or access APIs on the front end, they will send requests to the chosen computing power providers (e.g. mining machines), which will then access and run the corresponding algorithm models to deliver the requested services.

Currently, all major algorithms, with the exception of those not yet fully compatible with MANTA, run under MANTA’s architecture. MANTA will continue to work towards full compatibility,

On-chain Bookkeeping of Transactional Information

Users will have access to all their order history, whether they have used services directly or through API. By clicking Details, they may also check their transaction information that is stored on the blockchain.

In the Details page, users will find a thorough record of every API access or service use, as well as the corresponding fee charge and hash.

Click hash to view the corresponding transaction on-chain. The blockchain stores the core information of each order users make.

Enjoy the adventure with MATRIX.

                                                                                  [AMA]: Stay updated with the latest news from our end of July AMA

July AMA Transcript

Eric: Hello Matrixians around the world, and hello our CEO Mr. Owen Tao. How are you doing?

Owen: I'm good. Hi Eric, hi community.

Eric:  Okay. Anything you would like to share with us about your personal life for July, what happened to you?

Owen: Yeah, my daughter started her summer holidays so, I had to spend some time to be with her.

Eric: Okay, that's a good time then.

Owen: That was my work, yes.

Eric: And how is the Covid-19 in Beijing now?

Owen: Recently it's okay. Better than a couple of weeks before.

Eric: Okay, I hope we get better and better. Alright, so, Matrixians, today is the 28th of July, so as usual we are having this monthly AMA with our CEO Mr. Owen Tao, and so let's just kick it, start the ball rolling.
And today we have nine questions from our community, so without further ado, I would like to start with the first one. Owen, “How can people pay the service MANAS? Are they paying in a currency dollar/yen/euro and you have a mechanism to buy Matrix coins?”. This question is from Jerry Hollander. Owen?

Owen: Yeah, I have mentioned in the AMA before and also, we have some article about our business operation about MANAS. So, in our plan we won't run the business of MANAS by ourselves, we have opened the API and the SDK to the community. We hope the community can make the business running for MANAS. They can connect to our API to offer the AI services to their customers, so they can build their own business portal as an AI service platform. So, they can get the currency from their customers directly, and then they will transfer them into MAN, and pay them to the people who offered the computing power, and also the AI services. So, yeah, that's how this business is running in our plan. And also, if you want to use the AI services directly on our MainNet, you can buy the MAN coin directly on the exchanges, and buy the services directly on our own platform, yeah.

Eric: Yeah, so, simply put for using the MANAS services, we need the end users or the merchants to use MAN as the payment, alright. And to get the MAN coins, they have to get to the exchanges for the customers. I think that is simply very easy, we have Gate and we have Kcoin, I'm sorry, Gate.io and also Kucoin, and so it's easy for the global consumers. And if they want, they don't have any accounts in exchanges, I think they can seek advice from their friends and see how to find any go around solutions for them, yeah.
And let's go on to the second question, this is from Buzkurt: “Let’s say two GPU mining machines are running on Matrix network. One machine in located in China and the other in Canada. AI resource is submitted. Which mining machine get selected to provide the computing resource? How is the selection made? Note that this is not for mining but for computing resource”. Buzkurt. Owen?

Owen: Yeah. Every time when the MANTA platform would need to send the AI training missions to some nodes, our platform will send a little task to all the nodes who want to join, who want to get this mission. And we the net will depend on how they perform in the little tests, and send the mission to the suitable nodes to run this mission. In our first version, I think the bandwidth will not be very important for the mission, because the biggest mission in the first part is the decentralized machine learning, so the bandwidth will not be very important then. So, I think whether the node is in Canada or in China will have very little impact on the selections. So, that is how we will do the selection.

Eric: Hello, so Owen just answered the second question, and the question is from Buzkurt. And allow me to go back to the first question which is from Jerry Hollander, about how to pay in MAN or how to get MAN. So, aside from the exchanges or other solutions, I think there are many payment gateways or payment… also called wallets, when they integrate the MAN into their wallet, if the system or the payment system provides the on-ramp and off-ramp services then they can use the FIAT to use any service from MANAS, and likewise for other services from MAN as well. And on a larger scale, these kinds of payment apps or solutions they can entertain all the customer that have already crypto, have a crypto wallet, or only as FIAT currency, so there’s sort of a solution aside from what we just mentioned, aside from the exchanges, and other solutions so, it's sort of a payment app. Yeah, right.

Eric: So, Owen, let's go on to this third question this is from Bozkurt, I think Buzkurt and Bozkurt, is it the same person? Yeah? And the question is like this: “Does Matrix have a partner that will setup mining farms to provide AI computing (GPU) and mining resources to the Matrix chain? Also, the partner plan to rent out computing resources similar to what the Ankr blockchain does?”
Yeah, I think there are two questions in this question. Owen, do you understand the question or do you need me to repeat it?

Owen: No, no, no.

Eric: Okay, that's good then.

Owen: Yeah, at first, I think our objective for MANTA is something similar to the Ankr blockchain, yeah, it’s something similar. But right now, we haven't got any partners who have already decided to set mining farms to provide AI computing power on the MANTA system because our MANTA hasn't been ready yet. And we have also… We need to do some open testing work before the business are running. But right now, we have already been in touch with some computer companies who have been running the business in the Cloud Computing area, so they are very interested in our project and they'd like to discuss how to introduce their GPU computing power into the Matrix AI Network.
So, I think in the near future, yeah, there will be some partners who will set up their farms for our MANTA platform, yeah, I think so.

Eric: Okay, so, let’s put it this way, we do not have any partner yet for the mining farms. And this is good for you if you can do that, so you can be the first one to set up such farms if you have the resources. And second, Owen just mentioned we have some partners testing MANTA, and actually I do have the list, by just waiting for something before we publish, so, yeah, there's something to share with you. And… go on to the fourth question from Kacawote. So, this question is about AIRTIST: “Will AIRTIST be the same as Dalle-2? Will there be a Text-to-Art generator App that will use the Matrix currency?”, Kacawote. Yeah, good question. Owen?

Owen: Yeah, I think AIRTIST is not… It’s different from Dalle-2 because the way it generates the art, the art is very different. AIRTIST is… I'll say they are trained by the people's paintings, so they will create the work by painting as the western painting, oil painting, and the trends painting. But Dalle-2, there’s something like they will cut lots of the pictures and put them together, so they are something different.
Yeah, I think there will be a protocol which you can input and text, and you will get a painting in the end. But I don't know if it will/should be an app or a dapp. For the Matrix currency so, as I know, AIRTIST will be set up on the Ethereum Network, but it will use the Matrix IPFS and also the decentralized computing. So, the people who have offered the computing power to the artwork generation and also the IPFS storage for the art to be stored, they will get paid in MAN.

Eric: Yeah, so I think it's two things: one is Ethereum for business consideration because they have to reach to all this network as large as possible, so that means it’s good solution. And because they’ll have to use the computing resources from Matrix so they will use MAN as the currency for that, yeah.
So, fifth question is from Hakan1629: “Hello, I wrote before but you didn't reply.” Alright, sorry about that. “Our web wallet is very slow and stagnating.” (Meaning slow). “Even staking is very difficult, it gives an error. I've been a Matrix investor for a year but still such minor issue has not been fixed.” Hakan1629. Yeah, Owen?

Owen: Yeah, I think this should be a DNS problem, so please send us your address, where are you from, and I think we will fix this problem by our network engineers, yes.

Eric: Okay, so perhaps we can speak with the deafs and then see what kinds of information these people have to provide when they encounter a slow speed of the web wallet, we need to speak with them, okay.

Owen: In fact, if you can offer your IP address, that will be wonderful. But if you want to keep your private information secure, you can send us or share with us your location, I think that would be okay.

Eric: Okay, yeah. And Hakan1629, speaking of the web wallet, some other comments from the community are about the UI, so we will be also looking into this web wallet as well. And please bear with us because we get questions from communities every month so we have to screen them and select for… What do I say… For [something] more interesting to the community, so that's why we have to give more chances to others, and this time I hope that answers your question.
And let's go on from Krcl: “Hello there. As we know, Matrix has survived a bearish market. We are currently experiencing a decline. What plans do you have to stay financially afloat in this downturn? What would you like to tell us about this?”. Owen?

Owen: Yeah, I think it is a tough time for the older blockchain team right now because there’s the Covid-19, and we… For Matrix we have done lots of things. At first, we have reduced the other parts, the cost, we will put most of the cost on our development work. And also, we have reached some companies such as the TBEA, and we have offered some development work for them to get some payment back, and also to keep our team running normally. And also, in our opinion, at first, we will do some development work to gain some money, and also we'd like to get some better AI algorithms and models for this kind of development work. We’d like to put them on our platform such as TBEA. We have finished their work and we will add the algorithm from their work into our MANITO platform. And in the future, we’d like to share the MANITO platform to more partners and offer this service to more companies, that's what we are doing right now.

Eric: Okay, thanks Owen. Hi Krcl, I would like to add some points, following that. Matrix has survived not just this bearish market, we have survived for some years, so this is not the first time for a bearish market. And that was for other projects as well. And I think this is the progress for those projects to get mature instead of just hyping, etc, alright. Secondly, I would like to speak from a risk management perspective. We are not a company that tries to lend or make money from others, etc. Just for example, the LUNA thing, we don't do it, we don't leverage, we don't, so we try to focus our effort and our money on the dev work, so we try to minimize the risk. Because, as we all know, the equity market fluctuates a lot and this is something you can say “good” for those speculators, you can say “it’s really bad”, it just depends on how you perceive it. But this is not the first time that we go through a bearish market, and don't worry about that. I think this is a question from other community members as well, and I hope you can get an answer from this question.
Budspencer, alright: “Do you have any costumer”, I think it's “customers”, “for MANTA and MANAS, yet?”, Budspencer. Owen?

Owen: Yeah, I think this question should be divided into two parts. First for MANAS, we have mentioned that we would like to let our community to run the business part for MANAS. We will offer the technical support and also the API for all kinds of AI services, so we won't run… do the business operation for MANAS by ourselves so we haven't started to call the business customers by ourselves. We'd like the community to do these things. And for MANTA, we will finish all the development work and start the testing work, we have already invited some companies and labs to join our testing. I think they will be the first group of customers after their testing. And it will include some kinds of companies and also some labs, and we will give you more details in the near future when we have set down all the deals with them, yes.

Eric: Okay, good. And the second last question from C128r729. The question is this: “Do you have any thoughts about taking part in the Turkish market? Are you planning to make an agreement with Turkish stock exchanges?”. I think he's referring to the exchanges like Gate.io or Kucoin since they are not stock.

Owen: Yeah, I think the Turkish community is very important to the Matrix project, and would like to do more things with the Turkish market. So, if you have something resourceful, you can introduce us with exchanges that are doing a good job in Turkey, we’d like to communicate with them and to see how to be listed on them, yeah, I would like to do that. Please give/share with us more information.

Eric: Okay, yeah. So, the answer is positive, if you have resources you can refer to us, then please do share. And the last question goes to Sbblc: “If all the platforms are ready, the payments will be made with MAN. But what will happen with that MAN? Who is getting these payments, where will it be used for?”.

Owen: Okay. At first, if you pay… When you are using the service such as our MANAS platform, or you are using the computing power on MANTA, the MAN you have spent will be paid to the people who have offered you the AI services or the AI computing power, who offered the service to you, they will get the MAN, that's how the business is running. In fact, on this platform, there are some services which are provided by our team, by Matrix development team. So, this kind of AI services, if you spend MAN on these services provided by Matrix team, all the MAN coin will be burned.

Eric: Okay. So, the question… I think the answer to the question is very simple. Think about in your real life, you use your FIAT currency to purchase anything, so this is about the circulation, about the economy. So, it's just… You just put it into a crypto world, and use MAN coin or any cryptocurrency to pay for anything and to use anything, just like what you did in the real life.
I'm not sure whether I fully understand your question but it is an answer to that. So, Owen so we just finished nine questions from the community, and that's the end of the July AMA. So, thanks for your time, and thanks Matrixians, and please do share with us your questions, and also if you have any resources, you can submit using the forms that we shared in the group. And stay safe, and be more active in the activities and discussing about our series of education or tech talks, that kind of thing, so do your own research so you can be more prepared for a good market, because someone else mentioned about the bearish market. So, in reality whether it’s a bearish market or a bullish market we have to get prepared for ourselves, from a project perspective or from an investor perspective, and that's important for DYOR (Do Your Own Research).
Thanks for everyone, bye.

Owen: Thanks everyone, bye.

                                                                                                       Matrix FactSheet 8

51- Owen: The project we have worked with #TBEA is coming to the end, and we have already finished most of the work for this project. Most of them are under testing right now. Within this year we will finish all of our work in this project.

52- Decentralized Identity - Web3 Pass

The emergence of #Web3 which fundamentally embeds economic transfers, has brought about a renewed emphasis on creating robust identity systems. Although decentralized identity (DID) has been a largely overlooked topic compared to DeFi, #NFT and DAOs, many view it as a critical technological primitive that enables native Web3 applications.

53- Owen : we have already done lots of things in Xinjiang province to support the OBOR province, and most of them are in the energy industry such as we have supported the Chinese electrical group to build their smart electric factory in Xinjiang and we have already provided lots of the Artificial Intelligence solutions for them to make the energy transactions safer and faster. And in the future, most of the solutions we will introduce to our MANITO platform, and we will make them as generalized services, we can provide them to all kinds of companies who will use these solutions. And if you want to use our services in MANITO, you also need to use our computing power on our MANTA network. That’s our plan.

54- Total staked amount: 212,851,431 (tom.matrix.io/accounts)

55- Mint an #NFT with your biometrics data. Sounds great. you will be able to do this with Matrix Bio-Wallet. Stay Tuned.

56- MATRIX’s support of the #IPFS protocol enhances its #blockchain ecosystem and makes it easy to envision future enterprise use cases.

57- Open Source : #Source code of the #DApp is available to all
#Incentive : Has #digital assets for incentivising the #validators
#Decentralized : Uses a distributed system #technology
Consensus Algorithm : Has an inbuilt #consensus mechanism

                                                                  M-Port: An AI-Powered DID Platform based on Biometric Information (IV)

The Significance of M-PORT

In the real world, people’s ID documents are indispensable for a well-functioning society. Governments use passports to manage citizen identities. Driving permits grant holders the right to drive a vehicle on the road. Credentials certify the expertise and professional knowledge of holders.

 Fully integrating biometric verification, the new DID, which we will call Web 3.0 Passport, will be more capable than ever and create infinite value  for people during online economic activities.

NFTs—Identity and Authenticity

Fabricating and copying are two headaches for the art industry. Derek Laufman’s digital artworks were auctioned on Rarible without his knowledge, and this was but one of many such incidents.

Matrix’s version of DID, which integrates biometric verification, can serve as the infrastructure of blockchain. Artists can use Matrix’s finger vein recognition tool to create a DID and put their signatures on any digital or physical asset they sell. This way, both buyers and sellers will have a way to verify the origin of a digital artwork.

In addition, Matrix’s DID will also increase the interaction between artists and communities. By limiting the ownership of certain NFTs to community members only, we can do away with scalpers and offer unique NFTs to certain groups of people specifically.

On a broader level, NFTs will also diversify decentralised identities and make for a more vibrant digital world. Today, some people already use a combination of their username and an NFT as their avatar on the Internet. For instance, Richard, co-founder of Manifold, refused to accept a bid of 9.5 million USD for his NFT (CryptoPunk 6046), saying that he sees this NFT as  part of his identity and personal brand.

Unlocking the Next Stage of DeFi

Collateral loans are not only the central function of DeFi but also the engine for its growth. Since DeFi completely does away with the issue of trust, anyone can benefit from the financial services it provides. The problem is it’s impossible to assess the risks for a loan based on real-world information. For this reason, loans are often required to be over-collateralised. To acquire a loan through on MakerDAO through ETH, one has to pledge a 130% to 170% collateral. Although collateral loans helped the growth of the DeFi market last year to a great extent, its high collateral requirement also caused the forced liquidation of countless crypto investors’ assets in turbulent market conditions.

Loosing or even removing collateral requirements will be the key to DeFi’s mass adoption. If M-Port can become part of blockchain’s infrastructure, we will be able to use people’s bio-information to build credit for them on-chain and give loans accordingly. To maintain good credit on-chain, users are also motivated to make responsible financial decisions. This way, M-Port will  introduce democracy to DeFi.

Integrating biometric verification will solve two other problems for DeFi:

A.   ID verification will make it impossible for bots to snatch away large numbers of airdropped tokens so that airdrops will become fairer for real participants;

B.    Using DID to monitor accesses to the DeFi pool will reduce instances of harassment and witch attacks, and by providing official assistive tools, we can get more institutions on board.

Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO)

DAO splits voting power into governance tokens. The more tokens a voter has, the more weighting his vote will be assigned. Although it’s true that big token holders will be more invested in the interests of an organisation, small contributors may have their enthusiasm dampened when their proposals don’t receive the same priority. What’s worse, even if someone has established his credibility in one organisation, he will have to start from scratch when he goes to a different one.

M-Port, on the other hand, can span multiple DAOs. Users’ hard-earned credibility will go with them from one organisation to another, saving them a lot of frustration and pain.

Expanding the Matrix Ecosystem

In the future, DID will become the primary port for Web 3.0 traffic. And if M-Port can achieve all the functions we envision, it will lead the DID solution market, and a complete ecosystem of Web 3.0 apps as well as DeFi and DAO projects surrounding M-Port will pop up. All this will make the Matrix ecosystem more vibrant and attract more traffic and partnerships. As the brain of the Metaverse, MANTA also stands to benefit.

                                                          TBEA’s Stock Gains on Plan for Green Industrial Silicon Plant in Northwest China

                                                            TBEA’s Stock Gains on Plan for Green Industrial Silicon Plant in Northwest China

(Yicai Global) Aug. 16 -- TBEA’s shares jumped after the Chinese maker of power transformers and other electrical equipment set out plans to invest CNY6.5 billion (USD957 million) on a green production plant for industrial silicon used in the photovoltaic industry in northwest China’s Xinjiang region.

After a 4 percent jump this morning, TBEA [SHA: 600089] closed 3.5 percent higher at CNY25.60 (USD3.77).

TBEA said its holding company, Xinjiang Tianchi Energy, via its wholly-owned unit Xinjiang Tbea Loulan New Material Technology, plans to build a plant with annual output of 200,000 tons of high-purity industrial silicon, helping TBEA consolidate its position as a leading supplier of raw materials in the industry, the Xinjiang-based company said in a statement.

The plant will cost CNY3.3 billion and will take two years to build, while the remaining investment will be used to finish a 425 MW wind farm, a 120 MW PV station and 70 MW energy storage facilities, the company said.

TBEA revealed that 51 percent of the energy required for the plant’s production will come from the electricity generated from these new energy facilities.

TBEA controls Hong Kong-listed Xinte Energy, whose main product is polysilicon material, while high-purity industrial silicon is the main raw material to make polysilicon.

After reaching designated capacities, it is expected that the annual average after-tax profit of the industrial silicon project will reach CNY597 million (USD87.9 million) based on an expected average annual sales income of CNY3.5 billion. The after-tax static investment recovery period will be 9.83 years.

The continuous rise in polysilicon material prices is stimulating domestic players in the PV industry chain to expand their capacities substantially while spurring industrial players to invest in capacities of industrial silicon, a more upstream link in the PV industry.

Apart from TBEA, solar cell maker Risen Energy, revealed a plan on Aug. 12 to invest CNY3 billion on a production line with annual output of 200,000 tons of industrial silicon.

The operating data of TBEA and Xinte Energy have benefited from the sustained sharp rise in polysilicon material prices in recent years.

Due to strong demand for polysilicon products and a sharp rise in prices, TBEA’s net profit surged 238 percent to CNY3.1 billion in the first half from a year earlier on a 25 percent jump in revenue to CNY22.5 billion.

Xinte Energy, which is increasingly relying on its silicon materials business, posted a first-quarter profit of CNY2.5 billion, greatly exceeding the CNY1.2 billion in the first half of last year. Revenue was CNY6.7 billion, close to 2021’s first-half figure of CNY7.8 billion.

Reference : TBEA:TBEA Co., Ltd., formerly Tebian Electrical Appliances, is a Chinese manufacturer of power transformers and other electrical equipment and a developer of transmission projects. It is one of the largest transformer manufacturers in China, along with its rivals Tianwei Baobian Electric and XD Group. It later became the largest mining company in China by obtaining a mining license. Matrix has started to produce unmanned modules and is making early fault detection with artificial intelligence.

It takes part in the Obor project and serves many markets such as India, Africa, the Middle East and beyond China.

In Chinese name; 特变电工股份有限公司

Xinjiang is suffering from a labor shortage due to a lack of skilled workers, high labor costs and risky working conditions (requiring mining and earthmoving work). Therefore, this shortcoming needs to be addressed either through policy making or technological innovation for Xinjiang to become the center of the Belt and Road.

The Matrix's AI technology offers a solution by replacing human workers with AI. This will keep manufacturing, infrastructure construction, power generation and many other industries running smoothly while reducing costs significantly.

The joint project between Matrix and TBEA - Unmanned Mine - is a good example. The combination of 5G, IoT, AI and robots allows us to operate a completely unmanned coal mine. If successful, this pilot project will be promoted across the industry. Currently, Matrix's part revolves around building a blockchain network for AI and data collection.
The project started in mid-2020.
1. 5G+AI coal mine conveyor belt anomaly detection system;
2. 5G+AI flame detection and warning system for mines;
3. a 5G+AI construction site inspection system; and
4. 5G+AI machine maintenance system. All four systems and all ten core functional modules have been completed and are being extensively tested as outlined in the biweekly report. Will be delivered in early 2023.

                                                        Unmanned Mine by Matrix and TBEA: Ushering in the Era of Energy 4.0 (1/3)

On Oct. 30th 2020, a mine owned by TBEA located in southern Changji County, Xinjiang was authorised by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to be a “5G + Industrial Internet public service platform” project. The project plans to build a total of 55 5G stations with Matrix providing AI algorithms and tech support for around 30 use scenarios including 5G AI robot patrol, 5G auto-pilot, 5G AI hazard sensing and 5G AI drone patrol.

The project creatively integrates AI, 5G and Industrial Internet technologies with open-pit mining to pioneer innovations in traditional sectors. Since the completion of Phase Two in August 2021, the platform has been in test run for one year with stable performance.

                                                                                      Smart Control Centre of Unmanned Mine

An Overview of the Project and Its Technologic Structure

The Matrix team’s main role in the project is to provide AI solutions, which involves collecting data through live cameras, sending the data through 5G networks to control centres for AI algorithm training and assigning computation tasks to different edge computing terminals that work together in distributed collaboration. The overall goals are

1. To mechanise and automate labour-intensive tasks and reduce dependence on human workers;

2. To build a smart collaboration platform based on 5G networks for industrial production;

3. To construct a high-performance deep learning model for secure coal mining, supporting the smart and automated monitoring of the production process;

4. To deploy AI models on the local servers of Unmanned Mine and connect to servers, sensor networks, control terminals as well as the central monitoring and alarm platform, providing real-time smart video analysis.

To achieve these goals, Matrix has deployed its own TDetNet and TCNet deep neural networks as basic recognition models and introduced adversarial generative networks, graphic processing and transfer learning to support small-sample-sized machine learning under various scenarios.

Before a transaction is initiated, the MATRIX Secure Virtual Machine proactively selects a safe checkpoint in anticipation of a complication. If an issue does emerge, the MATRIX Secure Virtual Machine is easily able to perform a rollback to ensure that the address and state of the Intelligent Contract is as it was prior to the compromised transaction.
