It was a shocking result for a fight which meant alot to Holm as she is probably close to retiring and this might have her fight for one or two more. Even after nearly a week later and it is still sinking in for some how could she lose in such a lousy decision from the judges like that.
Surprisingly there isn't any UFC this weekend as they next one is in the first week of June and the next one is UFC 275 which isn't until closer to the middle of the next month.
How does a UFC season run or is there not any way to know in advance? Tried looking for it on Google but it is not clear,,, is it really just planned a few months ahead of the game and then fighters are identified along the way? Sorry if my questions seem stupid but how does a fan plan for the games, or how do you even rank fighters if fights are not fixed number per year? On Google all I can see is schedule fights only until July.

UFC coming everyone, what is your picks? All I can do is read news and someone called McGregor called someone else having pigeon brains. Honestly,,, if I did not myself watch the fights I might say from social media and news it really reminds me of the old WWF/WWE. I bet if they had Twitter in those days they would be creating the same kind of chaos online What is your favorite news site? Bloody Elbow seems to come into my search a lot!

@leea-1334 To your questions from earlier: There isn't a set amount of fights in a year so you don't necessarily have a 'season' in the UFC. That would not work out anyways. They have fights every weekend (expect for national holidays for America) so this format has worked for them. Because as you fights can be cancelled at a moments notice. So it is not very stable when it comes to filling the fight card. But they have seemed to have enough fighters on-call if they do have alot of their current cards cancelling for whatever unforseen reason. The site you have mentioned is a good one to get information from. I tend to keep up to date on the current fights coming up from youtubers who choose their fight predictions days before the fights incase there are those cancellations as mentioned above. We have the UFC Vegas 56 up this weekend and here is the challenge for you to put in your picks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5401003.0Good luck!

Can't quite remember how the favourites went, but I do recall Volkov and Evloev being among the heavier favourites (which I also picked) so I know I got those 2 guys pat down.
Quite a number of submissions from what I see, seems slightly out of the norm, usually it's straight out KOs and decisions yeah?
Everyone happy with how it went?

I began watching halfway through the prelims and then started watching the first few fights on the main card. As soon as my first fight on my acca lost I tuned out until the main event bout between Volkov and Roz. It was a quick one and it got stopped early. The only big upset was Lucas Almeida beating Michael Trizano. This was the one I had and once that was done I kind of just went back and forth watching other bets that were on at the same time. And for the ladies Karolina Kowalkiewicz beating Felice Herrig was kind of an upset since she had been away from fighting for quite a while and had lost her past matches four straight from what I remember the announcer saying about Karolina. Menifield & Osborne were the good ones to watch a replay of cause they just destroyed their opponents. Overall a pretty good night of fights.

Thanks for the explanation rdbase,,, somehow saw the response late. Yes, I guess I am learning now there is no UFC seasono since it is just about fights and opportunities. But it still does not seem like a predictable way to see who a title holder can be and who can challenge. It seems this way a person can hold a title for longer than expected time. Does their rating 'expire' if they did not fight for a while?

@rdbase Wait so you could just never fight and retain the title if you never accept a challenge? There must be a rule against that otherwise it is just well,,, weird and unfair. I guess it is still a long complicated journey for me to understand this, I am more used to a body that determines these things and puts down fixed seasons otherwise it is just impossible for longterm planning Thanks

Well they can't retain the title forever and just retire with it. They do go away being champion of that division but the title is fought over amongst the current in the table until one comes out on top to reclaim this belt. It is strange how it is arranged but the president of the UFC Dana White makes up these rules on how it comes to pass. So there isn't really anythinig anybody else can say to oppose how it all comes to be. Getting ready for the UFC 275 this weekend? If so, put in your picks for the UFC Challenge up here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5401701My picks are Jedrzejczyk, Santos and Prochazka for the main cards.

UFC Countdown was released a few days ago but just watched it on cable and it was a good one to know the fighters on the main card if you haven't seen them fight before. Here is the link to the video from the official UFC channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZstTuT9SmOUSantos I think has the greatest chance to win as the heavy underdog on the card for the UFC #275 main events in Singapore.

Great video from the opponent who has a very high chance to take the title away from Teixeira this weekend's main event. Jiří Procházka: 'I don’t play jiu-jitsu. Ground and pound and find the finish. Nothing else' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_-KBZ_eGFMWeign-ins start super early being in Singapore, so roughly in 2 hours we will have them going live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58Mn1hUVRd4

The fight Shevchenko - Santos will be interesting to watch, Shevchenko dominates in her division, and the odds of 1.12 for her victory suggests that Santos does not have much chance. Santos is younger and more energetic, but Shevchenko is a very accurate fighter, she can simply keep Santos away from her and work at a distance. Look who Santos defeated by knockout, there are fighters who had a few victories in total... For me, Shevchenko's victory is obvious here, and I admit that this will be an early end to the fight.

I already make one bet on Croatia tonight, now I also made a Santos bet @4.86. I like the odds too,,, but that Sevchenko Valentina looks like a sure thing so is my prediction pick

Santos I think has the greatest chance to win as the heavy underdog on the card for the UFC #275 main events in Singapore.
I actually think Jake Matthews is the one to look out for. Think he might get a decision win, if he can avoid the heavy hands of Fialho. 3.10 odds, so not massive odds, but a underdog no less. Potentially even the main event, Glover getting a decision win? Could be on the cards I think, and that's at 8.00. Not worth the odds, even though I expect a dominant performance from Shevchenko. I might include a decision win, which has decent odds at 2.20. I could see a finish in this fight, but I think Santos is too tough, and Shev is way too good to get finished here. Not awesome odds either way, I mean if you went for a Santos decision or finish you'd be looking at 10.00 odds, I just can't see it happening personally.

They mentioned an early start time at the end of the weigh-ins so you just might be able to watch it while it is happening instead of the re-runs this UFC event.

It's not easy at all to track the start of all this different UFC events around the world, and even in US there are different time zones. I followed one website that was tracking that and updating with countdown timer, but they shut it down few months ago. Back to UFC 275, I just finished watching face-offs and it was very intense between Teixeira and Prochazka. I have a felling one of this two guys will finish on cage floor early Don't forget to make predictions in Sportsbet Multi Master Challenge, and win free bets: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5401701.0

^Thanks for the reminder, notblox1! Can't believe I actually put my picks in 4 days ago ha, normally am scrambling to remember things like that. Too little to suggest an upset, no value on betting on Shevchenko, but even worse value betting on Santos. I'd add Shev to a long acca, that's the only thing I'd do with this match. I mean, 1.12 on the favourite should translate to at least 9/1 on Santos, but you get a paltry half rate on that? Extremely poor value.

This makes it a heck of alot easier to follow cause your placing your bets on the fight anyways. As you can see the first fight begins in about 12 hours from now give or take 15-20 minutes before the markets close on you being able to bet prematch. https://sportsbet.io/sports/mma/ufc/ufc-275-teixeira-vs-prochazka/matches

How did this even manage to pass under my radar I didn't know I always assumed all UFC fights were happening in USA, I know sometimes even in Asia but not in my area/region. Seems like our sports coverage here at least in the local circles aren't really still aware of UFC things going on, my bad. I just checked and everything is happening around lunch time my time! When I am working!!
