You're 100 right in your observation. Both Elon Musk and John McAfee  used their popularity to get benefit from the people. If they would have care about the community, people would have remember them in good words. People hate John McAfee and now showing same reactions to Elon Musk.

No one can know exactly what are his intentions when at one side he is saying bitcoin to be bad for the environment but same time asking developers to improve the doge coin to be more efficient. A few weeks ago, I would have balked at any comparison made between Elon and McAfee. But now I realize that Elon Musk is just another wolf in sheep's clothing. He is just like any other billionaire, who want to manipulate the market and make money for himself. Sometimes people get blinded when they get too much power and influence. Elon is currently going through this stage. He will realize his mistake when his Dogecoin bubble bursts. But after this episode, I don't think that anyone will take Elon seriously in the cryptocurrency sector anymore. He has lost all the respect he had.

Elon is a wise investor he knows what he is doing, he knows what McAfee has done in the past and how he lost his reputation, I'm sure he will make sure that he will not become another McAfee, and he will be the best influencer we had, but so far he is not because of the decision of his company not to use Bitcoin anymore, it's a big betrayal, he should at least support Bitcoin.

The more he opens his mouth nowadays, the more like he might become like that guy and we all know what happened to those who believe in John McAfee's propaganda about some certain coin. People should take heed when they listen to some speech by those big-shot men, if they don't and they will just blindly follow what these guys said, they might as well fell into their trap cause they're only saying those things to manipulate them and at the end of the day those men are the only one who will gain big. It is true that all of us can only guess what Elon Musk really intended to do this, but it's not a good thing if the crypto market movement depends

I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever compare Elon Musk with John McAfee. But that time has come now. What Elon is doing is pure manipulation.. although I don't think that he is profiting out of it. I can no longer classify his actions as "trolling". And I really don't know why he's doing this. John McAfee promoted shitcoins for monetary rewards. But why Elon is promoting them? As far as I know, he is not getting any payments.  

It is a form of entertainment to someone with his amount of money and is used to satisfy his enormous ego. I give him credit that he spent a lot of money on Space X and some of the stuff with Tesla (mainly related to battery production), he has done more than many billionaires who would rather buy football clubs or hundred million dollar yachts. If he was able to control himself and act with just a bit more decorum he might be more respected. However calling rescuers names, constantly hyping cryptocurrency for fun and engaging in what effectively amounts to insider trading with the Tesla stock all earned him a bad reputation with most professionals.

I remember something similar happened before and I cannot imagine what Elon is thinking right now. I mean we do have here all the criticisms we can put out at him, and he seems unaffected by it. He sees that he has something with him that even no one in this world could possibly have, that is why he has this massive balls to do what he has to do in the world of cryptocurrency. Do you know what he has that you don't have that is why he does not listen to criticisms from you?
