Even though I'm not from Europe, I really like and follow the main European tournaments very closely.
I had already seen some news about this "third division", but I confess that I know very little about the teams that can be part of it.
It's nice to see that UEFA is giving space so that smaller teams also have the chance to compete at a mainland level, but I ask locals (from Europe), are there "good" teams to make a quality third division?
I ask this because here in America I doubt that Conmebol can do the same.

Even though I'm not from Europe, I really like and follow the main European tournaments very closely.

I can answer this for sure,,, because my beloved team Spurs will be competing in this season Conference,,, for failing to get in UCL and Europa:) I believe I have a good team just with poor management and bad decisions from the top. But they still have the England captain and South Korean captain playing for them, so that must be a good quality team right? Remember also there were a time when AC Milan was very far down the league so for sure always quality teams in Conference:) |

With the European Conference League competition, of course, this makes football teams from low-middle coefficient leagues such as the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland and others, have a great opportunity to be able to play in European competitions, because so far European competitions are too often dominated by clubs from the top leagues in Europe such as Spain, England, and Italy.
The unique thing is that the European Conference League uses a pyramid system like in the domestic league, namely the Champions of the Europa League get an automatic ticket to the Champions League group phase, while the winners of the Conference League get direct entry to the Europa League.

I guess that this is the place,where the financially poor football clubs from Eastern Europe will have a chance to win a European trophy.The Champions League and Europa league are reserved for the ultra-rich and the medium sized football clubs.UEFA wants more European tournaments,because this will bring them more revenue from sponsors.
The Super league has failed,but the greediness of UEFA has no limits.

My thoughts exactly. I did score good value bets on Europa but for me, opposite of you, curious to see if we can get nice exotic value odds when teams meet the likes of Marseille and Lazio who seem to be headed for meltdown. |

I think the conference league will have a good impact on non-seeded teams, because as far as I know many of these leagues did not get a position in the champion league or european league l, and the last time a team from a non-seeded league won the champion league happened in 2004 when Jose Morinho coached Porto beat AS Monaco with a score of 3-0

There is teams which will protest for sure while others will profit from the actual system in order to win something one day. What happens to teams like Villareal or Benfica or Lazio?
Check Wikipedia page or this one (french but contains a good list) for more idea about the teams. Spurs, Union, Roma, Rennes are in EConf but at a later stage. |

@buwaytress, thanks for making this thread, I was looking for it . Personally, I don't like idea of this tournament. I call it Europa League for peasants. Yes, this tournament gives chances for clubs from small league to play in Europe. Even teams from my country have fairly good chances to reach group stage. But on the other hand, this tournament had closed doors to Europa League for many clubs and leagues. As said above by @mv1986, good teams from Greece, cyprus or Switzerland now are separated from elite. There is some big clubs like Spurs or Roma who will have to play there. It's interesting what attitude towards this tournament they will have. I doubt that their are going to play with main squads there. Conference League games will be played on Thursdays, same as Europa league. I doubt that many neutral fans is going to watch it, unless you're supporter of team which play there. |

Thank you cygan for the update of teams, I'll add it into OP for that, and what's strange for me in fact is that I actually recognise at least 1 name from each group;) Maybe Europa League has crept into my mind, or betting on those games that played on during Covid lockdown!
