Nothing has really changed for the most popular cryptos for this year because they're still the same at the top. Although a few have emerged and got into the top but that doesn't mean they'll remain there as a main stay. Just don't go into FOMO with those top coins and always be that someone who keeps on researching despite the market changes.

right, old coins still occupy the top board on coinmarketcap. and I think these coins are very worth investing in. on the other hand there are some coins that are starting to climb up and have a positive trend. but for me don't let us get caught up in the hype meme coin

Well, they're all at the top but not means that all of them are good investments. I have my own choices and so you and the others too. But don't be too reliant on others opinion if it's about investing in the market because you don't have to be dependable with others choices.
There are a lot of coins to choose from and you have to make it very well as you decide so you won't have any problems buying any of those that you like.

Seems like this is a pretty good topic, Polkadot, Matic or Solana this is one of the coins that deserves attention this year and I think will get more attention from investors. In the future for sure these cryptocurrencies have these outstanding characteristics, I think it will grow and the value will increase in the future. Also worth noting is that BNB this is one of the the most loved ecosystem and sponsored by the world's largest exchange Binance its price will go higher in the following years

Actually, we shouldn't focus only on the most popular crypto currencies, as they have already pumped and you are to wait for a drawdown to invest in them. But in addition to mainstream coins you can try something less popular or new, as coins with smaller marketing campaign can increase more significantly compared to those that are already in top, but consider risks please.

Yes, we should search for the other coins which have the same potential as the previous coins. But if that is about bitcoin, we should focus on bitcoin as bitcoin will increase so high in the future so we should try to buy bitcoin if the price drops. You do not have to focus on a new coin as we do not know if that coin can increase or not so we can try with the coin that already has a good history in the past. But every people will have their own way to determine which coin they should focus and find that coin and the important thing is we must analyze before we do something.

It would be great if the authors of the article indicated how they determined the popularity of the cryptocurrencies listed there. What did they base their popularity calculation on? Why did the authors miss BNB and SOL, which are in the top 7 by capitalisation and top 9 by daily trading volume..?

I think this article just gave some perspective on how it developed over time, mostly trending coins like Terra (LUNA) and Uniswap (UNI). Some young but very fast growing projects recently like Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Polygon (MATIC) still generate great interest, otherwise it has become popular and successful thanks to bitcoin development in cycles.

2021 is a big surprise for a lots of Cryptocurrency traders and investors,  many people saw bitcoin becoming more pricey but what they don't see was the explosion of new blockchain projects and the fact that Cryptocurrency cap is now in trillions!  Some of the most successful altcoin in no particular order is as followed!

If you ask me to short list for popular crypto of 2021 then I guess that I will list only bitcoin and I am not having belief on any other coin to be sustaining in near future. Altcoins may come and go but bitcoin will stay with us to serve for us. I agree there are at least 25 coins are too popular in 2021 but I doubt how many of them will get into a list if we make in 2025 after the bitcoin's 4th halving? So, I guess it would be safer to call and invest only with bitcoins as of now.

If we list most other coins then naive investors will invest wherever we do suggest which might lead them to unexpected losses in the end. So, recommending bitcoin alone will be safer in my opinion.

The whole crypto market is tightly hooked up with BTC, whenever Bitcoin goes up the altcoin goes up and vice versa. The major contributor of crypto market cap are BTC and ETH. But again crypto market cap goes up only once bitcoin goes up. We rarely see crypto market going up when BTC is in red. The current bull market will last as long as BTC stands up.

This surely is an extremely foolish list, 2021 of cryptocurrencies is incomplete without mentioning the crypto that has grown the highest so far this year, Solana, not only has it boomed as a currency it also has created an ecosystem along with it in form of Serum, Radiyum, Grape Protocol, Audius  etc. I think it is also the fastest-growing blockchain ecosystem thanks to the solutions that it has provided, another major crypto this year was MATIC network which unbelievably solved the major problems faced by the Old Ethereum blockchain, even though ETH 2.0 is now on cards but until then MATIC is going to be a key game changer.

a large market cap is an indication that the coin is trustworthy, so we can research it further to invest. but if we don't do the research on the basis of trust, I think ethereum and binance are very trustworthy to invest in. considering that this altcoin has real trust and products, so its continuity will always be needed

Well I agree in the article that those coins are the most popular cryptocurrencies in this year and also good for long term investments but I wonder why BNB is not included in the list, BNB is also a popular coin and Solana is good coin as well, this coin has potential in the future.

There are several reasons why many coins grow, develop and some decline after launch, basically all coins have the same opportunities on cryptocurrencies, but what sets them apart is, the pattern, team, and promotion carried out by each coin, so success is very important. depending on their own hard work, other influences from outside the system being built are very unlikely, because whatever they do, only they themselves can build and promote well, cryptocurrencies have equal opportunities for all existing coins.
