I think this is another great fight and as always, I can never bet against Fury as he is the king of the heavyweight division.
The poll is not up yet, but you know what fighter I will vote to win.

So what we are going to see is this fight and a rematch of Joshua and Usyk.

Wilder seemed lost now.  Grin
Probably the fight will be very much entertaining as we are soon to witness a great fighter who is always defending his incredible unbeaten record that makes Fury the crowd's favorite bet. But not to mention Whyte as he is been doing great too in the boxing arena and to think that he admitted that he has dropped Fury on multiple occasions in a sparring session, well this fight will prove it all. And the rematch of Joshua and Usyk will add another highlight too on the said event.

Yeah, probably. So that means that it is still unsure that this would be an entertaining or interesting fight after all. Well, I'm not saying that Whyte is just too far from Fury's league but what we are seeing is sure win fight from Fury and the chances that he will be upset in this fight is almost less than slim and the poll shows that the fights future results. I'm not a Fury fan nor Whyte, I'm just saying what I am seeing.

If Whyte felt disrespected because of ticketing issues then he has a valid point but why would that be the biggest problem? It is clear many things are going on behind the scenes. Why on earth did Hearn and the Whyte camp wait until deadline day before signing the contract? Hearn claims it to make Fury upset and to play mind games but Fury is way beyond those small minded attempts. Add to that Whyte wanting a bigger share of the purse, it did not help.

Hearn can say all he likes about being glad not to promote the fight but let us not forget he did bid to promote the fight but was outbid by the record-breaking blind bid by Frank Warren (promoter of Fury). I think Hearn is just upset he lost out but he must have learned his lesson because if a Fury vs Joshua fight ever went head he would want to be the one to promote it.

It seems the lawyer for Whyte is saying the fight might not go ahead but has not given more detail except outstanding issues need resolving. It all stemmed from Whyte wanting a bigger share of the fight purse distribution and looked at ways to increase his pay.

I've read the article you've said, thanks.

I don't know much about the complimentary tickets or some details behind the scene and their agreements, but what I'm so curious about is that why did Fury's team didn't disclose any details about the fight and the inside venue? It's a bit unfair I think that Whyte's entourage or family doesn't have any tickets at all to watch the fight.

That's also why Eddie Hearn have said that he's glad that he got no part about the fight and promotions. Seems a little bit messy behind the scenes.

Votes in Poll: 34
Fury win: 31
Whyte win: 3
Draw: 0

The votes in the poll are far lower than I would have hoped for. Keep the votes coming in  Grin

Just in case, I diversified the voting and put on a draw  Smiley
By the way, now this option is starting to seem logical to me - Fury's defense in the match with Wilder was not great, to put it mildly, and in many ways he won thanks to the fact that he is a "iron guy". Maybe White (if he doesn't get knocked out) can be ahead on points, but won't get the win because he can't clearly beat Fury - so we'll see a draw and a rematch.

In my own honest opinion, the Gypsy king could have been lost by Wilder in their last fight if he didn't manage to knock out the latter in the round 11 because their score card wasn't that far and the Fury as the Iron Guy has also been down twice in the round 3 or 4 if I'm not mistaken.

But in this match, I think I'm not seeing any draw even if Whyte could survive all 12 rounds because their capabilities is really far and Fury really has this fight in his favor.

I guess they are just making it a big deal because they have nothing else to throw at, so the tickets (small problems) is what they see now and I assume that Hearn who didn't get the bid on this fight is pulling those strings behind the scenes to get this upcoming fight somehow messed up and I bet he is also the one whispering on Whyte's ears that he have a right to have a bigger share in the purse.

Votes in Poll: 36
Fury win: 32
Whyte win: 3
Draw: 1

Contrary to the recent reports about the fight maybe not going ahead because Whyte is unhappy, I think this is all part of plan to generate more interest. Having said that we finally have a vote in the poll for a draw but I think the chances of a draw are virtually nil  Grin

Whyte will have left it to the last minute to try wrangle a better deal but when that was clear it wasn't going to happen he will have capitulated as he's not going to walk away from this fight. What is very stupid on Fury's part is not putting contractual media obligations into the deal as now Whyte doesn't have to turn up to anything and he probably won't unless Warren coughs up some more dough.

I believe Dillian Whyte will be having a share of the PPV and he is not promoting the fight expecting Tyson Fury to do all the heavy lifting. Media obligations should be there is the contract and the press conference are not that interesting like we wanted because of that. May be mind games by Dillian Whyte, who knows   Cheesy.

As per Tyson Fury this is his last fight and if Whyte promotes or not this is going to be a huge success financially as all of his fans will be wishing to see him fight one last time.

He's not getting anything other than the money he's been promised for the fight hence why he's not bothering to promote the match. Whether it sells a million PPVs or zero Whyte gets the same so I can totally see why he's not interested in promoting it as all he's going to be doing is putting more money in Fury's pockets. The only way he'll get paid more is if he wins the fight and gets the winners bonus which I believe is 4 million (but he will know that's unlikely). I'm surprised Fury and especially Warren have been this naïve to not make the media duties part of the fight obligations. They're usually always put into the contract because a lot of fighters just won't bother turning up to them or will pick and choose what they do. I kinda like the Dillian has been AWOL since as it adds another dimension to the fight.

Whyte as you rightly said is (and was) never going to walk away from this fight. This is the biggest moment of his career and he will probably never have another opportunity equal to or bigger than this one fighting Fury because the WBC heavyweight title belt will belong to the winner.

I had no idea about the contractual obligations or lack of them but to be fair to Fury if that is the case then Warren is the one to blame because that was his job. Why would a seasoned experienced manager/promoter forget to implement something so important in the contract?

I searched online but could not find anything related to it. Are you sure about Whyte not being obliged to attend media and promotional events?

If Whyte felt disrespected because of ticketing issues then he has a valid point but why would that be the biggest problem? It is clear many things are going on behind the scenes. Why on earth did Hearn and the Whyte camp wait until deadline day before signing the contract? Hearn claims it to make Fury upset and to play mind games but Fury is way beyond those small minded attempts. Add to that Whyte wanting a bigger share of the purse, it did not help.

Whyte will have left it to the last minute to try wrangle a better deal but when that was clear it wasn't going to happen he will have capitulated as he's not going to walk away from this fight.
Dillian Whyte and his team is spreading the idea of Tyson Fury being dropped by him during sparring sessions and even if that is the case and these news are true, i doubt Dillian Whyte will be able to touch him in the fight. Fighters like Wladimir Klitschko nor Deontay Wilder who i think is the biggest puncher in the division was not able to keep Tyson Fury down and it is naïve to think that Dillian Whyte would be able to land clean strikes.

It might favour Whyte keeping himself in the news as a PR stunt but Fury already responded to those stories by denying them. He claims Whyte never floored him when they spared together.

When they meet it will be real and anything can happen in a boxing fight. I do not think it is naive to think Whyte will not land clean punches, I think he will land cleans jabs and punches but a Fury victory is inevitable.

Hearn has mentioned the situation a couple of times in interviews if you want to search them out but the below is an argument/debate with Warren and Whyte's lawyer last week:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p87sFilDfyw

It looks like the only thing that was contractually obligated is that Dillian needs to 'reasonably' promote the fight on his social media, which is very vague. Dillian's lawyer seems a bit incompetent and Warren seems to have been a bit naïve to not actually mandate the promo events /press conferences appearances are mandatory etc. If it was in the contract then he would have to turn up otherwise it would be in breach of it and he'd be almost certainly be sued. It must have just been a massive oversight from the Warren camp and maybe they just assumed he'd turn-up. Because Warren won the purse bid it's all on his promotion company. Usually it's a dual-event by promoters of both parties so they both have a financial motive to turn up and promote the fight as much as they can, but since it's all on Warren and they're getting all of the money Dillian has no reason to do promo as there's no financial motive. It now looks like both parties are playing hardball because of each other's actions.

First of all it seems Warren did not cover all bases in the contract therefore all the fault-blaming has to lay with him. Any contract drawn up by an experienced promoter has to be watertight and in this case it seems Warren failed in one of the most important aspects of his job.

I think we all know the fight will go ahead at a sell out Wembley Stadium on 23rd April 2022 regardless of any lack of promotion by Whyte  Smiley

Fury should not have any problems pushing Whyte aside and like you not many people here and around the world will be expecting anything magical from Whyte either. If Whyte manages to pull it off by beating Fury he will create a massive upset but Fury will still have the chance to rectify any loss by trying to win the rematch.

Even i am not expecting anything magical from Dillian Whyte against Tyson Fury but he was supposed to fight Anthony Joshua for a long time and he is waiting in the sideline for a long time to fight for the title and with Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk are engaged to fight, it is a good match up as they were not having any opponents and they cannot wait on the sideline for a longtime waiting for the other fight to get over.

To be frank i do not want to see Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury in the boxing ring as there is nothing Tyson Fury has not seen inside boxing but if he is smart they should promote a fight between Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou to find out the heaviest puncher of all time and even in that fight i am expecting Francis Ngannou to gas out completely and Deontay Wilder tagging him in the later rounds Cheesy.

Undercard has been announced: https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1080569/tyson-fury-vs-dillian-whyte-undercard-tommy-fury/

Quote
The full card is as follows:

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte (WBC Heavyweight Title)
Anthony Cacace vs Jonathan Romero (Super-Featherweight)
Tommy Fury vs Daniel Bocianski (Light-Heavyweight)
Isaac Lowe vs Nick Ball (Featherweight)
David Adeleye vs Chris Healey (Heavyweight)
Kurt Walker vs Opponent TBC (Super-Featherweight)
Karol Itauma vs Michal Ciach (Light-Heavyweight)
Royston Barney-Smith vs Jahfieus Faure (Super-Featherweight)

Looks shit. Tommy Fumbles is fighting a no-name Polish fighter no doubt to try pad his record even more.

I'm wondering if Warren will make his money back on this fight as that purse bid seems outrageous. I've no doubt it will do well in the UK but it's going to need to do well worldwide to profit. The PPV is £25 in the UK but I'm really hoping dazn pick it up in one of their regions as I'd really like to watch it live.

We'll see. I don't rule out any possibility, even a lucky punch from Whyte. Fury has never been very disciplined, so it is not known in what state and with what mood he will approach the fight, where the result, as everyone thinks, is “guaranteed” for him.
Maybe I just want to intrigue (yes hehehe) and come up with different options for Fury to lose but he doesn't really look like an unbeatable boxer to me.

In all probability this fight will not leave Frank Warren out of pocket or not reach potential profits because Wembley Stadium will be sold out for the fight and it is almost inconceivable that the fight will not be shown in Europe, US and Canada by cable and satellite operators. The rights to the fight will bring in plenty of funds for Frank Warren and his partners.

Long time promoter Bob Arum is a partner in the promotion therefore US audiences will be picking up the fight. How much they make is a different thing altogether because a network paying for the rights to broadcast vs PPV earnings are difficult to calculate right now. You are right about the blind bid though, Warren ensured he would beat Hearn and to some degree Hearn never saw it coming which takes their rivalry to a new level too.

Frank Warren said today that "Fury wanted to make a statement" when he gets in the ring with Dillian Whyte. The fight will take place on 23rd April 2022 at Wembley Stadium. The report can be read here on SKY SPORTS

Fury also taunted Whyte on Twitter by saying he will knock him out but Whyte has stayed quiet and kept a low profile, he was even absent from the ticket launch last month.

The seating capacity for the fight at Wembley Stadium will be a staggering 94,000.
