Why is it so hard to win at gambling?

I think gambling is something interesting.  What I mean is of course gambling is a game that gets our adrenaline pumping.  One of the things that makes gambling a popular game is the curiosity of a human being.  I think this is the most essential thing.  When we bet, it is because we are curious about the actual outcome that will happen whether it is the same as what we expected or not.  That's what makes gambling interesting in my opinion.  And of course, we have to be able to not get addicted to gambling because that would be something bad, especially for your money.  

I thought the thread will discuss about the casino odds which the house always win but it the thread is discussion about addiction. While its true that a person could get addicted at some point when he keep gambling, there are ways to really get over with it but its not easy.

Getting addicted varies to the kind of personality a gambler have. Its kind of a double loss for the family of the addicted person really and sometimes the family itself is at stake. It can even be a reason why parents divorce.

Even if you win a few games, they will make you lose others, and overall you will be at a loss if you do not have a plan. In order for you to win, you need to be focused and play with a greed-free mind. Either keep your profits aside or keep your seed money aside and play with profits only.
You will win some games while you will lose some games too but you will only be in the overall profit situation if you have some money and risk management skills.

That is just about gambling, definitely gamblers would win some games and lose some, but if gambling than normal, the gambler will lose more than win until bad mind set to builds up that will lead the gambler to lose all his money he has with him at that particular time. But this is how I do it, I set little amount to gamble with every week and it is just small amount I can be able to lose, if I win, I enjoy my weekend with it because I know I will still have another money allocated for gambling the following week, just between $1 to 5% of my weekly income. And most importantly, I do not gamble often. This makes me have better mind set towards gambling, gambling should not be for money making which can lead to greed.

Gambling is indeed something that is interesting and can make us addicted but it depends on how we can react to it. If we just go along with our wills without thinking about what will happen to us, sooner or later, we will feel like losing a lot of money from gambling. A human's curiosity becomes great when he keeps getting defeated so he wants to recover from his defeats. And that also happens if he gets a win. That won't stop him from getting more winning money. As long as we can suppress the curiosity about winning and continue to try to control ourselves, I think we will not be addicted to gambling and can enjoy gambling as an interesting thing.

Cases of casinos going bankrupt are quite common as well as any other business whose success is directly related to the economic situation in the world and the amount of free money in the population. I am sure that during a war/pandemic/crisis the number of gamblers at land-based casinos decreases significantly and casinos are forced to incur losses, which can later lead to bankruptcy.

Honestly, I had someone in my family who was addicted to gambling since our village back then was gambling then, it has varieties of games where you can gamble your money and what really motivates them is the story of others who won but didn't share their story of loss. This is the kind of joy that the gamblers have, they are always motivated either by the story of others or their own winning stories long ago but they are still motivated. Thankfully, they realized that it doesn't bring real joy once you realized you lose everything you have and that's when they stop playing and move on with their life looking for the real fun.

I think that addiction in gambling is a serious issue that could create a lot of other problem in real life, like drug addiction or any other dependance.

As a player then you shouldnt really make yourself able to reach the point on which you do really believe that you could beat up the house which is really a very idea or mindset to have because this would
only just trigger out your greediness and impulsive kind of emotion which would mainly cause on making bad actions or decisions on your gambling activity and on the time
that your mind is stirred up then this is the time you wont really be able to enjoy anymore with gambling and its been replaced with some desperation which we know
that it is really that bad specially dealing with gambling.

Unfortunately, most people here are gambling for money rather than for entertainment purposes. However, their purpose of playing isn't wrong since that is also one of point of gambling which is to instantly grow our money with a huge risk is a short matter of time.

Gambling management should be what gamblers need to learn to avoid greediness on each of their bets and to avoid losing or controlling their money since odds will always be in favor of the bank rather than us. Also, we tend to increase the amount we bet whenever we started growing our funds which is also the time where our losing streak happens. That's right, because this kind of thing has no strategy, tactics or anything related to science because we already know that gambling is luck in the end.

Perhaps, gambling is reliant on luck. Although we can make use of our strategies and our experience, however, this won't assure that it all gives us a favor, unless the house manipulates the game and make us win. Winning 2 out of 5 consecutive games is pure luck, that much more in winning lottery and dice games.

May in sports betting and card games have a bigger chance but still, we need luck for this. In general, winning can't be all on our side while losses are way also closer to us.

I absolutely agree with your statement. My experience allows me to understand that none of my strategies has been more profitable than others and everything depends only on luck.

The only strategy that increased my chances of winning is when my friends and I followed the slot machines in the casino and played those for a long time did not give the winnings. Although it may also be a misconception and luck was just on our side at that moment.
