FYI....we are going to be announcing a "card burn" program in the coming weeks. If you haven't already put together a complete set (or two so you can keep one), this might be a good time to fill the holes in your set. Sounds interesting, can’t wait to hear more about it. Please make the process as transparent as possible, maybe a live stream burn.. Perhaps "burn" is too strong of a word. An "exchange" would be more appropriate. Regardless, the "exchanged" sets would be destroyed, likely not in an actual fire though. It would be another process that would be safer for our employees. ;-) The idea is you would get something very exclusive in return for each complete set you turn in. what warrants a full set? just the base cards or all the specialty cards/redemption cards as well? It would just be base sets of cards. Any holofoils, variants, CS, Gemstone, MR would not be part of this. Fear not! :-)

> donate them to their children's play area
I think this would actually be a really cool way to "burn" the base sets that people turn in for the special cards, and it would be interesting to see how many of those old cards given to children show back up over the years, maybe they could be given an extra stamp to identify them, and a good lamination.

I dont hate this idea. How bout putting a card inside one book to be found when checked out. One card inside one book. Like a buried treasure

Personally speaking, I'm not too fond of the idea of cards getting burned.
I would suggest the usage of a hole puncher to put a hole in each card, and then return all the "cancelled" cards back to the sender among with the "throphy".
Non cancelled cards supply will be reduced (scarcity) and the customer will be able to hodl the physical cards as a redemption souvenir.
That way, it will act as an added reward for those who have managed to gather a complete set (hole is necessary to avoid "double redemption" issues) rather than a subtract "punishment" (having to turn over the whole set in exchange of)
You could even use a custom-made "cardsmiths logo" hole shape puncher, which IMO sounds cool (to have a cardsmiths logo shape hole on the card)
just my 2 satoshis...

Like a buried treasure Why not go to a public library/hospital /women's shelter near you and donate them to their children's play area? The children might be inspired to become artists by the works of art on the cards.
This sounds like Cardsmiths philanthropy A few of these posts have activated my almonds. I easily have 400-500 extra base cards, my thought is similar to the above posts but with a minor spin. Once a week, I'm going to place a card somewhere... anywhere... My first thought was to take card #9 Bitcoin Crunch and put it somewhere in my local grocery store's cereal isle. Or for instance take #47 Whitepaper and place it in a library. Or #23 Lambo and hide it inside a showroom car at a dealership... The ideas are endless. And if I only do this once a week, it will end up being years and years of Cardsmiths easter eggs placed around my state. You never know who will find them, and the rabbit hole it may take them down. I may even take pictures and post them to the thread of my placement every now and again.

This is a great idea, because not only will it increase the rarity of those cards for true collectors, but it will greatly increase visibility of this project among the regular non-crypto-nerd population. If we want the cards to eventually hold a lot of value like old original Garbage Pail Kids cards, we need the public to be aware of the project as much as possible. Also consider putting them in geo-cache prize boxes, because those prizes are fun to find and they get traded around a lot.

Some folks haven't made that connection yet. Will be critical for the "buyback" promo.

For legal reasons we've been asked not to disclose specifics with respect to redemptions. That said, I think it is fair to say that there are many "very" good redemption rewards still waiting to be found.

Many collectors have also put away at least one sealed box, so those high-value redemptions could be locked away for a long while. I hope there is some way they might still be redeemable ten, twenty, or even thirty+ years from now... The value of sealed boxes in the long-term could depend on that.

Ive been thinking about this base card redemption promo and have a thought. I have opened a bunch of boxes and have come to the conclusion that certain base cards are definitely more scarce than others. For instance i have plenty of 1s and 28As but cant find a 1A or 28 to save my life. There are many cards i have about 10 of. Why send a full base set in and make the scarce cards even more scarce. Why not allow people to send in 62 cards of any number? Unless these scarce cards are still locked up in later cases? Can Jupiter confirm that the same number was produced for each card. If not i think sending in random cards would be better. People would send the ones they had the most of in turn making them more rare. Just a thought

I strongly agree. I have multiple base card sets that aren't complete because of 1A so I'm kind of stuck. I've pulled the same amount of base 1A cards as Meta rare gemstone refractors (2) 1A base seems ultra rare

I was thinking that maybe Cardsmiths could offer a few different “redemption” type rewards. For example you could get something for sending in a complete CS meta-rare set (since they were a mistake to begin with) And offer something awesome if anyone wants to trade in a complete base set, including all the MR holofoils and the 2 CF cards. There could be a reward for a holofoil set and a slightly better reward for a crystal sparkle base card sets (62 cards)

Maybe the copper card for base, silver for holofoil, and gold card for CS set. If you have all three card you can send them in for one diamond card. But it would have to be a pretty awesome card, lol.

I would perhaps be interested in an EU group buy if anything is in the works, shipping is putting me off buying individually
