Usually players addicted has always the same characteristic, they are always with their head in another place, always thinking when they will win, then they are always nervous and in find of money to spend at casino with

the hope to win. Also, I've experienced from them also anxiety (it is a strange thing to see that some players are also strong smokers).

Everyone who gambles has experienced one or more of these symptoms to a degree. We are humans with emotions. Personally, I am not happy with a loss. I also get anxious sometimes when I gamble. I have certainly fantasied about a loss and them making up my mind to return the next day to win. But I usually dismiss the thoughts. It only becomes an addiction when these symptoms persist for more than  3-6months. And when it actually goes from mild to moderate that it eats up the individual from inside out.

In my opinion there will always be people who are not able to control themselves and this applies not only to gambling but also to alcohol, drugs, promiscuity and even sports. Those who don't see the line between responsible attitude to their health and their money will always get into unpleasant life situations and have problems. So the sooner a person realizes that he must learn to limit his desires, the stronger his health (both physical and psychological) and financial situation will be.

We might display the symptoms but that doesn't mean that we're addicts. Do not self-diagnose; if you think that you have the characteristics of a problematic gambler but unsure whether you really are one, seek the help of your psychiatrist. Personally, I feel irritated whenever I'm being interrupted in my gambling exploits. I mean, if you're enjoying something and in the middle of it all someone bugs the hell out of you, wouldn't you be annoyed? Per your post, that's one characteristic, but I don't feel like I'm a problematic gambler because I never chased losses, nor do I allow my wallet be emptied because I wanted to play for long.

I seriously think that an addiction gets problematic when it hampers a person meeting their obligations and priorities. For example, a father who has a family may be addicted to gambling if he chooses to allocate the funds to his personal endeavors instead of spending it to the family.

Though there may be several symptoms of a gambling addict, it does not entirely equate that if a person manifests such symptoms that he is considered as an "addict" within your definition. As long as the gambler knows how to manage their money without needing to ask for a loan or to beg, then I do not consider them as such "addict" within the definition that OP provided.

Gambling addiction is one of those people’s inevitable problems that even the society and government can’t do about it, but only the gambler itself. If we are responsible enough to gamble an amount we can afford to lose, I think that won’t be a source of problem later on. Because we only gamble for pure fun and pleasure. But when we start crossing the limits, gambling so we can fulfill our earnest desire to win big and become rich in gambling, that’s when we start to resort in gambling addiction and face the future problems that will also arise once we gamble with addiction. I guess discipline is the key not to fall for gambling addiction, otherwise gamblers will end up ruining their lives and their future.

No, I'm not, but those signs and if someone feels those, they're extremely addicted. Someone who's committing a crime because he has a need to gamble and he doesn't have any other source of income, he'll really do things unintended and will put himself into harm just for the sake of gambling. Some people wont learn until they are experiencing unfortunate events or happenings into their lives where they would really be able to taste out those bad consequences because of the action they had made out.

Some people are aware on what they are doing but they are really that still tolerating on what they are doing since they do believe that they could really able to make money with gambling.
People who are addicted are the ones who do play without limits with their finances and on the time that they had blown it away then thats the time they would be stopping on.

man these days people are so focused only on gambling addicts that they forget to look at alcohol addicts, sex, food, video games, violence addicts, lying addicts, stealing and killing addicts... they forget about these other vices, because they think that other vices are small things, when this is not true. I think being bored is the biggest trouble. People who are constantly busy with other stuff can't be a gambler, I mean they do not have the time for it. Imagine it this way, if you were to be put in a jail cell and never get out, and all by yourself, you can't gamble right? I mean if you are an addict maybe you could try some stuff for a while but you will have to stop eventually.

This is why I believe that we shouldn't be really assuming that gambling is something every people could do, put limitations and that would happen. All in all I would guess that give that guy something super busy, 20 hours a day, and 4 hours sleep only, and he would stop gambling because he can't find time for it. But if he is free all day, and bored, then he could become a gambler.

Usually people get addicted when they feel more comfortable when they play instead of doing other things. They get addicted also when they absolutely need to win a large sum of money, so, instead to stop their losses, they will continue to play with the hope to win something (and as usually they'll not nothing).

I don't think that is the case of addiction, being comfortable with gambling does not mean that person will be addicted to it.  Rather the uncontrol urge to gamble is the sign that a person has already developed a gambling addiction.

Gambling is something of really particular that should be played with many attention.

You must have seen some junkies that gets addicted to drugs (skiing, heroine, benzos, etc) we've got the drunks that are cool with there bottles, the smokers and lots of others. These are some true and unregulated (except for a few hard drugs) addictive substances that humans gets hooked on and addicted to too.

Online gambling and physical gambling comes with very little difference as you could clearly regulate the ages of who gets to gamble and it's not readily available everytime compared to the online platform where a user could just login and get going. I too lost money to gambling in the past, just because the way some people see gambling is not good, they see it as a way of making money, the reason for spending more and losing more, but once the person understand that gambling is not that way, wasting money on gambling will be the thing of the past. Not only even in gambling, anything that someone is addicted to will surely lead to bad health, we should not even be addicted to anything, we should be moderate in anything we are doing.

Well said. In whatever thing one is doing in life, there should always be a limit. Whether you are doing good or bad, once you don't have moderation, you are vulnerable to challenges and disorderliness. Not only in gambling, there are people addicted to so many things in life and it takes a hard work to redeem such people.
What influences this addiction to a great extent is associates and the immediate environment of the victim. One you see an addict, look for possible ways to help the victim.

Supposedly gambling should give you entertainment but since many gamblers treat this as their main source of income, they become more stress especially if they lose the money and those are the bad characteristics that can possibly happen to you once you become addict in gambling. Experiencing such stress and depression is not worth it at all, you can avoid this by being responsible and you should know your limit and capacity. Gambling is fun if you do it correctly, don’t wait for worst case scenario before taking actions.

There is always a possibility to get addicted to almost everything in existence here on earth but we are discussing gambling addiction because we are in a gambling boards, discussing other kind of addiction will be somehow out of board topic.

But the platform and the government can help lower the risk of addiction by simply implementing and forcing the responsible gambling act on the players.  Sadly it is always too late when these institutions found out that a player got addicted to gambling.  Another help the government and platform offer is through information dissemination.  Government can always create gambling awareness seminars or even put them on the curriculum of every student so that students will know more about gambling and how to avoid gambling addiction.

^ So far, I did not experience this in myself.
Probably because I know how to control myself on the possible negative outcomes or in short, I know how to discipline myself and put it to a limit.
The reason why gamblers become addicted is because of their greediness or even chasing loss, because of this you will become addicted. Self-discipline is the only way that you can avoid all things that become bad in gambling.

On a more serious note now, too much of everything is bad, this is what the holy book says.

Drinking too much alcohol is the sin of drunkenness
Gambling too much leads to addiction and when addicted, can attract a lot of problems from family to financial to emotional to health to various kinds of issues, it is very important for each and every one of us to pay good attention to our individual gambling habits because one doesn't just wake up one morning and become a addict gambler, this thing just starts little by little and before you realize it, it has become an issue very difficult to deal with.
