Hello everyone. I hope it's not too much to ask to share your opinion on the current format (specifically, the penalty system, as no other aspect seemed to raise issues). Takes a few seconds, you can share other opinions and/or your username if you wish. Then we really need to get going so we can build the new site, run any possible updates, debug, etc. Important so we can set down proper terms with a sponsor.

Submitted my answer, voted to keep current format with penalties. But like I said before, I'm fine with any format that you will choose, I'll play no matter what.

About this ""new"" typerform, is good? is better than google forms? or it was only to avoid google? Just asking for curiosity and to know if is a good replacement.  (sorry for the little OT)

Nope, we're going to continue on same platform like in 2 recent seasons. There is no need to use Google Forms, Typeforms or any similar forms website. While for quick survey probably it doesn't matter mcuh what we will use.

I don't mind the existing system. My first season here was good without any penalties, and my second season saw penalties drain a lot of points. So, I think penalties will keep this competition competitive until the end and also differentiate it from other pool formats.

My question is regarding the fee, has it been considered how much?

Sent in my vote, in short, I enjoyed every season since we moved to the new format. I really want to remind myself and others that we are VERY lucky to have people involved in this forum do special projects like this.

@joker_josue is well known contributor and its no surprise he is also giving his time and expertise into creating this together with @buwaytress, himself who kickstarted the whole concept of pools with sponsorship.

This evolved into our current forum menu of over 10 pools and formats to choose from.

For me, pools like this and BSFL which is done by @Trofo and @cryptofrka (and all the events in between) is the only thing keeping the integrity and fun of this forum in gambling. The true Bitcoin economy

So the point is, for sure I have feedback and I give it, but at the end of the day I don't want to make life difficult for these precious users who already give a LOT. Yu guys always give your best and in the interest of the forum so take our feedback but don't make it that into a big headache for yourself and just do what you can. Everything is enough

My request is keep fees as low as possible, it was over $100 last season and seems to be going higher every season lol I will still play it of course but a small reminder that $100 is half month salary for some people

That is also what I have been wondering about and also when is last date it will be accepted, some other pool like F1 even let you one or two races later as long as they know that you are going to pay. Well a decent fee should be from 0.75mBtc to 1 mBtc and also I think based on Bitcoin price that is not going either direction this is the best range to put as an entry fee, 2 mBtc would be to much for me. For the format I don't care I will get used to it whatever it is.

Thanks LTU for answering but i was not asking for this contest, i was just asking for me since you know in my contest i use the google form so maybe it was a much better alternative there. But since is not free and for sure didnt have something like all the google suit around it is a No.

Sorry for not replying to everyone individually, I'll cover that once we have more responses.

- no, the team event is Cro2 and not related to this pool (other than based on the same tournament)
- fee, yes it was just over $110 last season and I was intending to keep it similar so 1.5mbtc is this season's fee, and that's already updated in OP. That's actually less than $100 right now. I understand it prices some people out... but the sponsorship is generally quite generous right now.

dar, typeform is just used for the survey because I happen to have a paid account access until August. Free options are a bit intrusive for now and some people would prefer anonymity to typeform is fast and doesn't need a login. Also more importantly, I couldn't bother setting up a form on my site. This is completely unrelated to the pool otherwise.

Yeah... Buwa has set the entry fee to 1.5 mbtc the current price is less than $100 if the price of bitcoin goes down then this benefits the participants. Lol. There's still a long way to go, the Champions League round starts in September, so it's kind of relaxing.

After looking at the archives of the Champions League pool, the highest entry fee was 2 mbtc but at that time the equivalent of $50 there was also 1.5 btc equivalent of $30... Perhaps at that time the price of bitcoin again its lowest point.

No more than $100 it costs is still reasonable.

But like @BABY SHOES points out, I guess the fees were much lower in the past, but sponsorship has also been lower in the past, I guess everything is affected by inflation

It is clear that everyone has the right to a subjective opinion regardless of anything, but here it is a question of simple mathematics. I don't want to argue, I'm just curious: is there any math that supports this? I'd be glad if someone could point out the errors in my math (which support the opposite opinion).

I think this does indeed support this.

Avoiding penalties is crucial and yet in Top 10 we have:

0 penalties - 4 players (1st, 4th, 6th, 7th)
1 penalty - 2 players (2nd, 3rd)
2 penalties - 3 players (5th, 8th, 9th)
4 penalties - 1 player (10th)

Smartvirus in 11th place has 278 points with 2 penalties, leea-1334 has 321 point with 2 penalties.
I have 20 more points with a penalty than Trofo without it and 30 more than LTU_btc who also avoided the penalty.

Having two players coming 2nd and 3rd despite a penalty is good support for that in my opinion and the added information below, a 43 points difference between two players who both had two penalties, in my opinion definitely shows that risk is rewarded to some degree. Of course if it comes at the cost of stacking up more penalties, it won't pay off, but that is essentially the same in any contest. If you get it wrong, you lose.

One player finished 5th with two penalties, which I think can only be the case if more points have been collected while taking higher risks.

There's no error in your math - you're using statistical evaluations. You're telling us that North Pole is at -10 degrees and Africa at 50 so it's a mild 20 on average.

But still, my estimates are closer to the truth than those who simply say, “I like the number 300!” without any calculations 
Overall, I don't care at all as if we're talking about theory, these were just my thoughts. I think it's clear that I understand the numbers well and would be a strong competitor in any pool model.
So, the vote has been completed. Is there a final version of the rules?

I sent my vote also, and I am not against penalties, but I think we should shake things up and change them slightly.
I also think we should have more betting options for each match, and odds dont have to be identical with bookmakers oods.
In the begining of competition we could have question for selecting outright winner of Champions League that could bring lot of points if predicted correctly.

This then also removes the option of a calculated risk.
I did take a few of really high odds across the duration of the season - the ones I felt had high value.

Removing these would put us in the same boat - these do offer nice variety in strategies.
I'd like to keep high odds for sure - but I'd surely remove the safety nets.

Aside of the penaltie discussion the next week we have the first good games from the qualification rounds from the CHampions League i mean look at them we have for example Lyon against Sparta Praga and Olympiacos against NEC, and maybe we can add Union Saint Galloise against Bodo since Bodo and USG made quite a good run in the last one.

All the other games are still low level, i dont know why UEFA keeps making play the best teams against each others.(i know why but i dont agree at 100%).

It sucks that some of these teams get eliminated early, but I think it's fair system. It's so called League Path - IMO clubs who haven't become champions of their country shouldn't get equal right like champions, even if these champions comes from weaker leagues. With this system there is a bit more chance for nice underdog stories when they manage to reach group stage.
