It has been done before I think, icopress surely paid for some people that joined Fantasy pool.
I'd say as long as it's a relatively normal account it should be fully ok.

I think lowering the fee is a good idea, especially with the Champions League team contest running alongside it. Dropping it down a bit gives more of us the flexibility to enter both competitions.

Something worth considering for future seasons could be a two tiered entry fee model, a lower fee for regular players and a higher tier for the whales, so they can keep those high stakes and adrenaline going as well.

I haven't checked the odds, just a general idea: would it make sense to bet on the Belgians in the Union vs. Bode Glimt match? Bode Glimt may be significantly overvalued based on last season's performance.

I like it, just glanced after seeing your comment. Bodoe was overpriced in many of last season's games (even domestically) whereas I've been long-time admirers of USG in the betting market.

I'll definitely participate, but I'll try to wait for all the announcements so I can send my fees in one transaction.

I also thought 1.5 was a sweet spot, but there were a couple of comments or so somewhat asking if this could be lowered in the survey. And I wondered if, after raising it past $100 last season and seeing the lowest-ever number of participants (though the late start of the pool is always something worrisome) meant that we actually tested and broke the upper limits of a pool.

I wouldn't mind you or anyone staking someone, I think in past seasons we've "raffled" free spots anyway, and as we have enough trust in this pool that no one is colluding, I really don't see why not.

There can always be sidebets done between whales, I think we don't need to further break up the play here but yes, I understand every season there are more commitments, understandable people have asked for a slightly lower fee, so I think it's no harm to comply with the masses here =)

I don't think there will be as much commitments this season. BSFL will be going all the time, new season already agreed. We will also push CL version of RTG, already agreed. Working on some other stuff like BTB but at the moment I would say it is more no than yes. Then we will have your CL pool and PL fantasy for sure. In addition to that I will have Epicbet FPL challenge but that is free.

Superbru pools are a bit dodgy this season. I am still looking on some info on them but I don't see a world where we have as much pools as last season. I think we will demand some answers this upcoming week It is time to start pushing the promos out.

Great stuff to hear from @Trofo even though it is somewhat unexpected,,, I was thinking this would be a really big season of pools especially after many bookies enjoyed World Cup success, thanks mainly to England and France being so dumb in semifinals I can still feel it like it was fresh memory  

But I think in the end if the pools that remain are more exciting, then we have no issues, less is less stress, less is more fun

Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to feedback, whether here or on the survey. 20 users responded, so over 60% of last season's participants. Summary findings:

a. 11 felt nothing needed to be changed.
b. 4 felt penalties needed to be lowered.
c. 2 didn't want penalties.
d. 3 didn't provide a response to this section.

Nothing much came out from other comments, other than several requests for lower fees. 1 comment asked to keep it Supebru style only, I assume this meant the user only wanted the Score Prediction. There was a comment to change the way penalties are calculated but as adjustments (mentioned below) will result in a larger nett effect of lowering penalty deduction, we'll not change anything else.

Based not just on that but on general discussions, despite the majority preferring status quo, there were strong opinions on penalties, so we've decided on a few things. Just the important things now:

1. The pool will remain unchanged in its current format. It's one people are already familiar with and appear to prefer to Superbru, and still easy enough for newcomers to join.
2. The penalties for the new season will be halved.
3. Minimum odds in the Outcome Predictions will now be 1.5. There will be no maximum, as this is dependent on what is typically available on sponsor platform, but also markets that aren't too exotic.
4. The season fee will be 1mbtc (already reflected in OP).

This combination of changes should see less discouragement of users with multiple penalties, but also a higher rate of penalty incidents. Feel free to start sending payments to the address in OP (it is the same address we've used since the start of this pool).

After payment, PM me with details. You'll be sent a registration link where you'll now enter your usernames and other details. From this season, I'll only use the details I see in this user area for prize payments. You'll be able to edit it at any time.

This doesn't really hinder you from making safe bets, if you make 6 bets at 1.5, then in order to get a penalty you have to win a multiple bet equivalent to reversed pick. It turns out 2.5⁶ = 244 - It's not every day we win such multipliers in betting! 
But I'm very happy with the most important change - the reduction in penalties. Taking risks now makes sense. Even if we take last season as an example, with this penalty rate, Hhampuz is no longer in the red, but in the black.

so 2.5% on each penalty? Might as well round it up to 3% to get lesser decimal value

Might as well change the penalty structure on OP and Predictor Website as well

I'm also happy with the small changes. Personally the pool is already good, and its impossible to make everyone happy but if 90% of us are then its a good change.

When will we know about the sponsor? I'll make my payment soon, also waiting for other pools so that I can send bulk payments together. Let me know if anybody wants to 'partner up' in fee payments like for example if there are other pools with 1mbtc we can pay for each other.

Right on man! I think you settled on a great middle ground considering all the different change requests that were submitted. Introducing minimum odds is definitely going to help the skilled players in the long run. The key this season will be finding that sweet spot between taking a few calculated risks on higher odds while still hitting enough around even money to avoid penalties.
It's going to be a fun season as always, can't wait to get started!

Didn't watched the game, but not surprised much about result. And from stats looks that it was more or less equal game. Having 2nd leg game at home is big factor and Lyon still have good chances, but I don't have confidence to put money on the to qualify.

OP corrected to reflect new penalty, new season already created in the system, and we'll clean up on the rules and such. Just some tweaks to the player areas being handled by our main man josue, and then I'll use the week for some substandard (semi-sobre, that is) testing on the new penalties to see if it didn't break things.

To answer slam: sponsors are always a bit of a delicate thing. They all want to take care of regular league sponsorships first and that always means CL is last on the list... but we've always been fortunate to sweep up the last bit of the pot, so we'll see! Nevertheless, there are good people working behind the scenes who'll let me know when they do, and then you'll know.

Royal Union - Bodo/Glimt had to be fun game. 6 goals from both teams when there was just 7 shots on target combined. Knowing how good Bodo at home is, they're favorites.

I assumed that Bodo would be overvalued in this pairing due to its past achievements and placed a bet on Union (and Total Over 1.5) with odds of 2.6. Although the game didn't develop the way I wanted, in the end I was happy... exactly 3 minutes  
Now I don't even know whether to try testing my idea further or not. It seems that Union's chances in the return games will be considered even weaker, so it's worth taking a risk. But it might be worth taking a reliable Total Over 2.5, this pair is very productive.
