I am not afraid, I am sure that we will see quite some upset results and I even don't correlate this feeling to Nations League games. I am sure of this because of the teams playing in Champions which are very different and the betting around them which is massive. I remember some team winning with an odd of 23 against Manchester City and beating them in their home stadium, I think we can see a replication of such happening even in this season.

Was that during the first season of the Champions League in the new format? I remember City and PSG hovering near the bottom for a long time back then, and at one point it looked like they might even miss out on the top 24. And yes, there is no doubt we’ll see plenty of upsets, but unfortunately, it’s unlikely we’ll see the kind where a big club fails to make the playoffs. So far, in 2 seasons, we have only Napoli who have managed to pull off such a trick (and while still holding the status of Italian champions, haha).

I believe it already started even seeing German league result last night, I bet the clubs will see some disappointments today and tomorrow and we will continue to see it flow into Champions League. For sure we are not gonna see another round where all the favorites win.

Deadline is slightly earlier than usual so everyone better make sure to post your predictions on time.

I put my picks and I would have almost forgotten to do so because last year my last play was the match day before February. In this year I am going strictly for low odds to not get a penalty as that was a big problem last season. Now the teams are very different with very low quality teams fighting very good teams and despite looking like easy wins these bets I expect huge surprise results during the nights of match day 2 in Champions League.

Penalties are quite small this season so I'm actually LESS worried lol but at the same time you don't want to end up in a situation where you lost out just because of a few points. I'm seeing now on average 30 points per week, so 0.75 average points per penalty, even if you get 1 penalty you can lose almost 15 points.

Then again, why not go for big games and win back those 15 points, right?

I haven't thought it that way but I think there is enough other match days to try that. I honestly love going like 6 out 6 of my stake to an odd of like 10 for example which if hit it would give 60 points. I remember the first season with this format where some guy got some huge amount of points by allocating full 10 stakes to an underdog and he stayed in the top 3 places until the end so maybe this is also not a bad approach at all.

And like always, when there is 18 games and just 6 stake it's sooooo hard to make picks.

I'm very concerned about your wallet being hacked... Are you among the Ledger users of one of the cryptobilis supply chains? Recently, many news panned this official reseller because many cloned devices, as well as the European area were also affected by unauthorized implants.

If so... I can't imagine you having to replace such escrow for all players, I still support you in any case.

Hey BABY SHOES, LTU_btc, Harkorede, I didn't want to derail this thread but needed to at least inform of the situation and assure you that all prize winners will be paid out, as is expected of an escrow -- so hopefully, I'm in a prize spot and the pain will not be so pronounced heh heh.

I'm actually reluctant to give the details because I'm not 100% sure of what happened and on the side of caution prefer not to draw any more attention to my publicly-posted wallets in case of watching eyes so I hope you understand. I am pretty careful with wallet use, but perhaps a little less careful with the escrow wallet on this pool. There were some behaviours I allowed but I think the message for everyone in Bitcoin is always to never lower your guard and don't allow familiarity to encroach on your paranoia of self-preservation.

Thanks for the reminder. To be honest, the additional information triggered such a stream of thoughts that I forgot my PIN. I managed to figure it out by trying a few combinations, and now I’ll definitely save it somewhere other than just my memory.
I hope your other funds are safe. I’ve never used hardware wallets, but this endless stream of news about hacks (including those involving AI) makes me worry.
As for the Champions League, the inside info is as follows: Viking 0-5 Bayern, Galatasaray 2-1 Barcelona

The first matches have started, and I'm currently watching Lens vs. Sporting. My pick of the game was a good one, even if it's only 0:1 for Sporting so far. Both teams have produced some good plays, and it's a shame that Lens haven't equalised. They've hit the woodwork, but luck isn't on their side for now. Sporting have been playing on the counterattack and have managed to profit from it.

As I expected, Galatasaray fans were extremely hostile towards Barcelona today and some how I think it worked because this isn't Barcelona as it's finest even though it's only the first half I still believe that it wasn't a complete one sided game.
Lamine Yamal need to get involved more into the game, I would also like to see the inclusion of Gabriel Jesus in the second half because Barcelona has been lacking a real striker up front, it is level now and everyone still have a chance.

The absence of Raphinha is greatly felt in the Barcelona finishing line Because despite playing very well in the first half they have not made the equivalent impact. Galatasaray is not giving up even though Victor Osimhen has continued to remain offside. If the second goal had  stood, I don't think Barcelona could have drawn this first half.

Galatasaray is always very careful when at home and I see this game as a difficult game to predict at full time. The game was not balanced but galatasaray is protecting the defence. I think Osimhen will still score and Yamal too, let's say a 3-2 or one goal margin. Manchester United is trailing by 2 goals already, well I'm not surprised because of the bad form they have been having since this season. No game pattern, no communication and defence errors. More goals by second half.

Champions League craziness is here and we have very strange results today in some matches.
I was lucky to win some points from under 2.5 goals in Slavia Prague match, but I just blew it with Inter who is doing terribly at home with Club Brugge.
I am blaming everything on boring nations league matches and big break that cubs had so early in the season.
Maybe results tomorrow will be better for me, but I feel like I am watching results from another planet.

What is happening with the big teams in the Champions league? Most games started off on a wrong foot and ended quite the opposite of the expectations of many. Who would believe that Vikings would give Bayern Munich a two goals lead? Who would believe that Villarreal would pull up a comeback to win the game at 3-1? Even with the Barca game too, Galatasaray made quite an impressive start with a fumbled end, in completion I'm in awe as to the outcomes of all games today.
