For me, England will have to bring out their best tonight if they want to play Spain in the finals because Netherlands in this tournament have been stubborn and resilient too. They have been scoring goals in their games and there hasn't been a dull moment with them. Ordinarily, they aren't any match for England but with the way Southgate's boys have been playing in this competition, it gives any team the hope that they can be beaten.

To be honest, I don't like the overall performance of either team in today's match. We expected the semi-final match to be more competitive. The Spain vs France match was also very enjoyable. But the match between Netherlands vs England is going to be less competitive. Although the Netherlands managed to score a goal at the beginning of the first half, the performance of the Netherlands slowed down after the goal. If we perform like this in the second half, we will see the dominance of England in the match.

Even though currently England continues to dominate possession of the ball, they still haven't found a gap to penetrate the Dutch defense in the second half. And on the other hand, the Dutch had several times made quick counter-attacks which almost penetrated the English goal. Luckily their goalkeeper, J. Pickford, was in top form and always managed to ward off the ball that came into the England goal. but if this continues then I think England will indeed lose. It's just that I see that the Netherlands has also been carried away by the slow game flow used by England. I think the Netherlands should start changing the rhythm of this game again so that it doesn't get boring. In the first half everything became more exciting. I wouldn’t say England isn’t dominating the game as it is because, from the much they’ve played this far in the second half, it’s been England. Yeah, I get it that they are not being able to find those pockets of space to get them into shooting range but, they had the ball way more than I can say for Netherland.

However, Netherland have been more dangerous going forward than England. They almost scored with Van Djiks effort from that touch on the spot kick. England was just lucky Pickford was well positioned to punch the ball out. With the introduction of Weghorst, Gakpo is doing his utmost to try and get the ball across wish haven’t proven successful.

It’s not entirely been a running the clock down kind of game although, it’s a little bit dull.

The game has been on an equal stance to me and with the way both teams are playing, I don’t see the game ending in the 90th minute. An extra time will be given and if not the match ending in a penalty shootout. England have more ball possessions and are not moving the ball forward to find themselves a good spot to add more goals. Netherlands on the other hand have good attacking force but they’re hell bent in converting any of those chances too. The game might not be as interesting as the first semifinal match, but one goal from any of the sides will be a big game changer to how this game will end and how intensive it’ll be before the match comes to an end.

Well am not surprised anymore because this is actually what I expected and was the reason I actually played the match a first half draw which has been what england has been playing for some time now in almost all their game and somehow luck still seem to find their it way to them.

Well just like I stated, it seems they have broken the barrier again and they have scored and leading now by two goals to one and it seems they are going to be on the final showdown once again but this time with Spain.

Throughout the tournament, we watched a France that could not establish its offensive line well and had problems in front of the goal. In fact, France is known for its success in front of the goal. I think there is a lack of emotion in the team. Because they have had successful times in tournaments in recent years. Yesterday, they didn't react much even after being eliminated from the tournament and they didn't show the necessary reaction after falling behind. Yep. I was proven wrong. Southgate made a clear change and Watkins scored from Palmer's pass. But in fact it was a substitution for extra time; if not, then this substitution was late. But England were lucky and they got to the final without too much hassle (this time haha).

Finishers he called them, finishers. Southgate seems to have built the mentality of his substitutes to a level that, they really do come on field and end give him the game. This was true when they played in the quarterfinals and even more so now in the semi finals.
Certainly you’ve got to agree that their are tired legs on the pitch from both ends, bringing in some key players like Watkins and Cole Palmer certainly turned the game for him. Ollie has been such a n asset to West Ham and he just dealt them some of those qualities.

The substitution of Harry Kane and Phil Foden really worked out for Southgate as Watkins finished the job for the England team, sincerely Speaking England surprised many today with their performance because from the first half till when the game ended, they have possessed the ball more than the Netherlands and it seems the Netherlands played more of defensive game than attacking the England team that was why the pressure was much in for the Netherlands defense. England played more better today when compared to their performance since the season started, maybe since it was a semi final they took it more seriously than the previous matches they have played in the competition. Football can be a funny sport sometimes. I won't be surprised if England goes on to win Spain on Saturday despite playing so awfully all tournament. They've gotten this far playing that way. Spain has had the harder route to get to this point. From the group stage they faced tougher opponent like Italy and Croatia. They they faced Georgia, then Germany and the France. These are almost all the top countries in Europe and they won all of them without penalty shoot outs. That's pretty impressive. It would be a shame to have that kind of run to the final and lose the final.

I would be routing for Spain fully because they deserved the trophy more. Not only have they hard tougher opponents, but they have been the best team in the tournament. They've played better, they've scored more goals and been entertaining.
But we know how cruel football can be. It doesn't care about who deserved it most. It only cares about who wins in the final and I hope Spain wins it.

Nah, the performance of England so far in this tournament is below expectations judging by the squad they have, England managed to get to the stage where they are right now and progressing to the finals after winning against Netherlands tonight is a welcome development for the team but yet they need to improve in their performance if they must win against Spain in the finals.

Netherlands were in control of the game at the initial stage but after scoring the goal they slowed down their performance and England took control of the and got the equalizing goal but the game ended in favour of England after a late strike by Ollie Watkins which ensured the progress of England into the finals.
