When Argentina played with Saudi Arabia and the referee added half of the stoppage time to stoppage time, I thought that the game would last until Argentina won  

Germany's game against Japan also ended much later than it usually does, so I think this referee will be instructed "right" and continue the trend (especially if Belgium is losing?).

FIFA decided to put big emphasis on in game playing time in this WC. Referees have been instructed to add everything up both on half time whistle and full time whistle while, we are not used to it so that is why it looks a bit strange.

Did you see that they started doing possession tactics differently as well? Now we have team 1 possession and team 2 possession plus another one when ball is out of play or not controlled by any team. Wouldn't be surprised if we see 30 minutes half times in the future but with the clock stopped any time ball is out of the play.

I'm sure this stupidity when an absurd amount of time is added to each half (even 6 minutes is easily added to the first half LOL) is FIFA's mean game to push through the changes they have planned.

FIFA has begun the first phase of tests to change some rules that would change the game of football. Among the four new proposals, which have already been tested in the Future Cup, are the possibility of unlimited substitutions and throw-ins with the foot, as well as reducing time halves from 45 minutes to 30 minutes.

Gradually they will push through these changes (I don't believe that they will be "tested" and the decision will be made later, it has already been made) and we will lose football as we know it.

I do not think that the Germans will leave the tournament early, despite the defeat they suffered today. The German national team has technical capabilities that can score against the Spanish national team.

Spain with this win has a huge goal difference that will mean really a lot in the upcoming matches. After they seen that Germany lost they went full power against Costa Rica and could have scored a couple of more goals,Costa Rica are just lost and dont know even how they ended up at the World cup honestly.

It's really sad that Canada lost, they played such great game, didn't expected such performance from them at all. I saw them as last team in group, but now I think they have decent chance to reach next round. While Belgium, don't really know what to say about them.
After Germany loss to Japan, I agree that there is big chance that they can be eliminated after group stage. And probably it wouldn't be such big surprise like it was in 2018.

Personally, when I see players lying on pitch like they got serious injury just to waste some time, this is thing in football that I hate most. But now when referess have to count like every every second when ball isn't in play, I'm not sure that I like such decision. It's ok when it's good game, but when score is 5:0 and referee add 7 minutes, I'm not sure about it.
Next step probably would be to stop time when ball isn't in play, like they do in futsal, basketball or hockey.

It is not impossible for Serbia to win although I doubt this will be the case against Brazil.Brazil is coming here as the huge favorite and sure they have much better players than Serbia,they have many new names who want to affirm themselves to find a place in a major European soccer Championship as the World Cup is a good vitrine to expose such players.The alcoholic nations are suffering is true but in Japan there are a lot of pubs although Japanese nation is not well known for being a nation that loves alcohol.

I don't think the Saudi Arabia and Japan victories were a disappointment (for everyone except the fans from those countries and the bettors who love multibets). The more unexpected the results, the more interesting the tournament - especially here, since the value of the second games in groups for the losing teams increases many times over and turns from a formality (in the case of favorites) into a death match.
Serbia won't win 1-0 today, they will win 2-1, losing 1-0 after the first half (last chance for bettors to make x100 with one bet)

First time writing here, so much draws and non convenctional results, this kind of results kills me.

I dont know what to do in second round, going with the favorites one doesnt seems like a good idea until now.

Today overall was a good day for bettors well except Uruguay who missed a lot of chances,I didn't watch the game as I was on a trip but I was hearing everything from the radio of my car and surely Uruguay created a lot of chances and missed a lot of them.I did not agree with the initial formation,without Cavani unless he is damaged and cannot play anyway beside this game Portugal,Switzerland and right now Brazil all made bettors happy and Switzerland and Brazil had really good odds in pre match while Portugal for me had a low odd of 1.33 which was not a good one.

IMO, that penalty in Portugal - Ghana game was so cheap. And despite loss, Ghana left me very good impression. While Uruguay - South Korea game was so boring, 0 shots on target by both teams in whole game. And I can't remember any major tournament with so many 0:0 results, and it's just end of 1st round.

If Japan wins against Costa Rica next round, it would be 6 points for Japan already, almost securing their ticket to advance from group stage. And a win for Japan against Costa Rica should be easy.
A draw between Spain and Germany would be likely to send either Spain or Germany home after group stage. Japan is in a very good position and even seems to be competitive to win this group if Spain can't win against Germany. For this case, a draw between Japan and Spain would be enough for Japan to win this group.

The second goal of Richarlison is going without a doubt to be the best goal of the tournament as we have seen all the teams so far what they are capable of and Brazil was like robots and not man in the field,of course Serbia defended as long as they could but their physical form was weaker than Brazil.I think no other team is going to score a more beautiful goal than the one that Richarlison scored yesterday,truly a masterpiece.

Today we are starting again and there are interesting games,main one I would choose is England vs USA,of course I expect a win from England but not as easy as the one they got against Iran.

agree, Richarlison goal is truly beatiful, scored against us, but does not make it less piece of art (and there is several videos him doing exact the same on trainings, so practice makes it perfect)

It seems the pubs did not effect Japan at all. In fact, there was another upset in the world cup and it was Japan. Germany against Spain the day after tomorrow. It's a do or die for Germany. I wonder what is going to happen to them. Japan can easily win against Costa Rica which means they will have 6 points, which should be enough to have a place for the quarter finals.

Sounds like a perfect draw no bet for people who do not want to risk it and the odd of 1.50-1.65 should be good enough I think to have double chances,if you win you win at a lower odd but if Wales does not win you get your money back and that is the perfect scenario which I am going to place a bet for today.

Serbia like most of Western Balkan teams leaks in physical condition,I think even Croatia that was not able to win against a stubborn Morocco was exactly because of their physical condition which was lower than Morocco and thus they had difficulties scoring.All other teams beside Serbia and Croatia like Montenegro,North Macedonia and Albania suffer from the same syndrome,lack of physical form compared to other teams from Europe and Africa.
