It's safe to say that Wales are now looking like the team to be going home from Group B after the 2nil beating , the Iranians did play pressing football which rewarded them with 2 lovely goals in the dying minutes of the game and is well deserved!! Wales have never looked hungry to win any of their games and they have been made to pay for it, next opponent England and they will not have any points here.

With the so called favorites crashing out, this could be a Worldcup to be won by  an underdog

I had the same prediction in the pool a difficult win for Wales but I think all to blame is the guy who took the red card in the 86 minutes rather than perfect replacements although I do not deny that they played their part also.It can very well happen for Iran to go to the 1/16 I think from they are as the USA is a strong team but not unbeatable and they could not win against Wales while Iran won against Wales,so lots and lots of drama going on in this group,right now today even a draw against England is not relevant for the USA if they don't win the last game against Iran.

Watching it right now but Senegal totally dominating the game and this is Qatar last chance to score a goal because the last game will be completely out of their reach to score a goal as they would be facing the Netherlands and I doubt that they can score any goal to them while they cannot score to Ecuador and Senegal.There is still time though as there is still more than half hour to be played but things are not looking that good,I saw that in the first game they suffered a lot to create scoring opportunities and the same is looking here.It will all depend on Netherlands generosity if they win tonight most probably they will let Qatar score a goal.

It's funny that the USA and Iran consistently fall into the same group at the World Cups and this game becomes the most interesting for journalists in the entire tournament  But this time, in addition to political reasons, there are sports ones that few people expected.

And Qatar was able to score a goal finally against Senegal,its like we are watching a different team didnt expect them to play better at all. They had lots of chances but it looks like Senegal will win for sure,they are leading 3-1 and this gives a boost to the Senegal squad for the knockout faze

A tragic result for Qatar (I mean the draw between the Netherlands and Ecuador). Although the Netherlands have secured a place in the playoffs, I'm sure they will want to do it from the first place, so in the final match they should beat Qatar. And thus, Qatar will end their performance at the home World Cup with three defeats   Well, at least they were able to score one goal. Apparently the first and last in this tournament.

And yes, my results are also bad  The underdogs keep stealing points...

Wow what a match day: Wales losing 0:2 to Iran. Netherlands draws 1:1 against Ecuador and England also draws 0:0 against the US. Who could have expected that? Damn.

Well, in this World Cup, the favorites are really having a hard time. So far, there have been more unexpected results than in a long time. The only teams that have really impressed me so far have been Spain, Brazil and France. The rest of the favorites either have big problems or are on the verge of being eliminated from the tournament (e.g. Germany).

Can't wait for the weekend. Watching football all day. Yeeesss.

Another bore draw. England are practically through now though. Think the commentator said as long as they don't lose 4-0 they'll go though. I think this has to be one of the most boring World Cup's in history. A lot of upsets at least. I'm doing terrible so far and got zero points from todays games.

When Argentina played with Saudi Arabia and the referee added half of the stoppage time to stoppage time, I thought that the game would last until Argentina won  

Germany's game against Japan also ended much later than it usually does, so I think this referee will be instructed "right" and continue the trend (especially if Belgium is losing?).

FIFA decided to put big emphasis on in game playing time in this WC. Referees have been instructed to add everything up both on half time whistle and full time whistle while, we are not used to it so that is why it looks a bit strange.

Did you see that they started doing possession tactics differently as well? Now we have team 1 possession and team 2 possession plus another one when ball is out of play or not controlled by any team. Wouldn't be surprised if we see 30 minutes half times in the future but with the clock stopped any time ball is out of the play.

I'm sure this stupidity when an absurd amount of time is added to each half (even 6 minutes is easily added to the first half LOL) is FIFA's mean game to push through the changes they have planned.

It was the right decision in that game. The Saudi player suffered a horror injury in extra time. To be honest I prefer it when they actually play the correct amount of minutes as it negates time wasting which a lot of players take advantage of. Most of the time the ET seems to be completely random or not accurate at all. They should have a third official tallying up the actual injury time and time-wasting or maybe just stop the clock and have no injury time.

Gareth Southgate looked really clueless with his ideas, he just brought in couple of players and used the exact template they play in their respective clubs, every of their subs looked really tactically dumb and no changes, Rashford for Saka and Henderson for Bellingham doesn't look tactically different, I was expecting a division from the 4-2-3-1 when it looked clearly not to be working for the team in the first half, but every of his changes when he finally decided he's had enough of it were just repetition of the same system, just different players.

I dont know why england played so badly against Usa i know they needed a draw but with how good their team is i didnt expect of them to play that badly. Usa had so many chances but didnt convert them and now their position is really difficult while England is 99% in next round

So, England, country where football was invented didn't managed to beat country where they call it soccer. Boring game, poor performance from England and there is way too many such dull matches in this World Cup. Now it's only matter of time when record of goaless draws will be beaten, probably before 3rd round.
I think we should say that Ecuador didn't managed to beat Nethlerlands, they looked better. But drespite draw, everything is good for Nethlerlands, they will have to take 3 points against Qatar, while Ecuador will face Senegal head to head for 2nd place in group.

Well, after all Iran isn't that bad team and Wales isn't powerhouse, though, they were favorites today. But it's not such big surprise like Saudi Arabia win against Argentina. We can say that red card played big role, but even before it, Iran played better. And they managed to win without leader of team Azmoun, who got injured. Iran should hope that he will recover before game with USA.

Too early to give up, there is still more than half of tournament games remaining. It's difficult, but few exact scores still can improve your situation significantly. And there is still chance to take yellow cap.

Quite a few favorites are struggling like Argentina and Germany but also Belgium and Netherlands didn't really convice so far. England didn't convince today as well but their game against Iran is still making them an interesting candidate for at least semi finals. After all, a loss in the first game can also be a wake up call if the remaining games are not too challenging (Argentina is still likely to advance to the next round while Germany is facing a difficult taksk against Spain).
I'm also not sure how to judge Brazil's win as I'm not really convinced of Brazil this year. Brazil vs. Suisse will probably give us more insights.
But still, we have seen a very strong team from Spain and France was also impressive, so an underdog winning the world cup is still very unlikely even for the current situation, where many favorites are struggling, while top teams like Spain or France are still looking very strong.

It is exactly today that no more tolerance can be expected from the favorites or if they are not able to win tonight it means that they are not the favorites that we thought they are and their form is not great,I am talking exactly about Argentina right now,if they don't manage to win tonight against Mexico then they will go home without passing the group stage.

England could afford to not go all in as Wales is the weakest team of the group and England surely can win the last game and be first of the group,the same can be said about Netherlands which will face Qatar in the last game of the group and most probably will be the first team there.

The pool is not favoring me at all, I was expecting to have a position from the top but it looks like you all are giving me a position from the bottom. Every time when I make my picks I feel excited when thinking I will hit with a correct score but the opposite happens. I did not score a correct score yet LOL
