@Yaunfitda. Agreed. They might not be the champions and the kings of their weight divisions, however, they have the biggest names. This is very much similar to Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz in the UFC, I reckon. It can also be argued that this fight might be as big or bigger than Spence vs. Crawford in excitement and expectation for the fans.
Yeah, they might not be champions but this is what hard core fans of this sweet science is longing for as well as the ordinary fans, they want to see toe to toe actions which for me this fight if pushes through could deliver the actions. I reckon that this is an even match, though Davis is the experienced fighter but Garcia has the size advantage that if used well could make life hard for Davis. I just hope though that this would push through this time and not just hype on social media and end up like the Spence vs Crawford negotiation. True, no belts, at least the regular one and yet this is one of the most anticipated fight, everyone is waiting for this, just like when we are all excited by the Spence vs Crawford fight. And I do agree that this is a 50:50 fight in my book, as Tank and Ryan possesses power in this division, the fight is going to be made in a catchweight of 136 lbs. As Ryan said he can't make it to 135 lbs no more and if I'm not mistaken he fought Tagoe at a catchweight at well. While Garcia fought at 135 lbs against Rolly Romero, he has a experience fighting at 140 lbs against Barrios. Meaning, this might be Ryan Garcia's last fight in lightweight division because he cannot be fighting always on a catchweight until he will reach Devin Haney. One last dance just to fight Gervonta Davis, and if Ryan Garcia will win, he will eventually vacate that regular belt because as time go by he cannot achieve the weight needed in lightweight anymore. But that is still a challenge because Davis might not have the size but he have the ring IQ because of his experience he attained throughout the years, still a very interesting fight.

Although the odds are clearly on the Tank's side, KingRy can be surprising. This will be one of the most awaited next year's fight and there is already a lot of speculation around the fight. Both athletes should be on the same mindset towards winning, so in that regard, they have about the same motivation. The value bet should be on KingRy side, however he's winning chances are shy. You can check the best odds and even calculate your own predictions here. It's called a superlight and I understand why Davis is a slight favorite here because he had some good matchups in his pasts few games compared to Ryan Garcia who rested due to mental health issues and came back fighting boxers who are not legit champions. Heard about his depression. Fame can sometimes become more of a problem for someone but mental health seem a good excuse to violate rules. He was once caught cheating on his wife. Maybe it's true. Ryan has been ducking Davis for some time but now we can see him claiming it was Davis that he was chasing which Davis was ducking. I can't see Davis being afraid of this guy.

That's probably what he is thinking that's why he keep on pushing for a Tank Davis fight at 135 or 136 lbs catchweight because that could be very well his last fight at his division and what a better way to fight Tank. For the record though, Davis doesn't have the regular belts, all the belts in with Haney. So whatever belt that will be put in line, it's nothing. This fight is probably for the money, these 2 are superstars in this division, the cash cow, not Haney, not Loma. And that is why fans are already hype as early when they hear the news that finally this fight is going to happen next year.

Ryan Garcia is finally fighting against somebody who is in his level. He has been cherry picking in his last fights. I would understand if a tune-up fight against a weaker opponent is necessary after he is inactive and is not well. But it made me wonder why after a tune-up fight another tune-up fight was still needed. But that's the past already. At least for now he is already choosing a worthy opponent. His trash talks, confidence, and a bit of arrogance will now be tested inside the ring.

Davis might not have the size but with experienced and right sets of skills beating, Garcia is doable for this champ. I can say that it will be an interesting fight between these two. They have the speed and power that can KO their opponents. One single mistake or a miscalculation of their strategy can cause them to lose the fight. Still have lots of time for both to prepare and if I get it right, both will engage in a different fight before they settle this schedule fight.

It was all Oscar Dela Hoya's decision to take a tune-up fight after that inactivity, but it wasn't a tune-up fight after tune-up fight because Ryan Garcia has been already scheduled to fight with Javier Fortuna around April 2021 after he fought with Luke Campbell but Garcia and his camp withdrew because he was having a mental breakdown from the depression and anxiety he was facing. Emmanuel Tagoe was the only tune-up fight.

There is no doubt that this fight is one of the most exciting fights next year but why they are taking too long to prepare for this one? I would be surprise if there will be no knockdowns in this fight. Me, I'm expecting a knockout here, both are aggressive and they will really test each other in throwing solid combinations, It's the executions that will make one of them win the fight. Yeah, long preparation will give both fighters enough time to review all the tapes that they need to observe and assess if how the opponents will possibly create their strategy. It will be a very interesting fought as these two are really calling each other and really wanted to test their respective capabilities. Not that long because as we know Tank Davis have another fight schedule this coming 1st week of January and then the Ryan-Davis fight will happen somewhere in April. Just a little bit over 2 months from Davis's first fight next year, there's no such thing that Davis will train instantly on the 8th of January because he will need to recover and rest for a week or two depending on the damage he will receive against Hector. I just also found out that Ryan Garcia has his own bout as well this January and probably days ahead before Davis's bout but Ryan didn't disclose any information on who might be his opponent. He just tweeted to stay tuned because he will also return this January, now that's interesting too.

Although Davis is going to take a tune up fight, I never heard of Ryan doing the same, meaning that he could be ready for this fight already. And hopefully this fight is really going to happen, we don't need another excuses.

I thought that Ryan Garcia will not get a tune up match, but he said in his twitter account that he will also be fighting in January in preparation for a Davis mega fight, https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1594140891035205632Still unnamed opponent though, but we should expect that it will be a less risk fight. And just like Tank, it will be against a B-level fighter.

Garcia can’t afford to lose here so he should not be complacent and focus on his trainings and be more heathy, Davis will be his one of the hardest opponent which might put him on a risk of losing. Waiting for the details of this up coming tune up match, let’s see if this is a good one as well.

He also needs a tune fight his last fight was in July of this year and if the fight is going to happen in May, that's 9 months of hiatus and it will affect his conditioning going into the fight, I just hope no untoward incident or surprise that will come out that will delay this matchup, the worst thing that could happen is one of them becomes a victim of upset if this happens there will be a huge change of plan and direction on careers on whoever becomes a victim of the upset.

Good point, both of them are aggressive but I'm more inclined that this will be a close scoring fight because both of them have good resistance with it comes to heavy punches and as long as they can guard themselves from those flashy punches they will give, then we might see a unanimous decision here. Although, I'm seeing that Gervonta Davis got the upper hand because of his experience and he's defense is quite good too. Nonetheless, I'm already excited about this as this is no doubt a good fight to see.

So both are having a tune up fight, so it seems that this fight is already on schedule. And maybe this is one clause included in their contract that they will have a fight prior to facing each other. It will be advantageous though, as you have said that this top boxers needed at least 2 fights in a year to keep them in top shape. If not then they could be in a ring rust situation, wherein it will take some rounds before the fighter was able to get back to his old self. Let's just wait who will be Ryan's opponent and for sure they will cherry pick an easy opponent.

There is no doubt that this fight is one of the most exciting fights next year but why they are taking too long to prepare for this one? I mean, it's more than 6 months of preparation, are they not gonna fight one or two more fights after that? This is not really recommended because injuries can happen in practice and training and it might lead to postponing or changing the boxer who is supposed to fight them.
Long preparation means a better chance for them to be 100% during the fight. This is a big fight so it deserves a long preparation, and although it's hard to predict who will win for sure we can expect that this fight is going to be a very exciting one. Yup, both need to prepare for their counter and most with their defense, both are known to be a heavy puncher and have solid combinations and that killer instinct when they have the chance to throw and box their opponents. It's really interesting if what adjustments they will come up and show to their fans, maybe in terms of upper hands Davis got that advantage but we never know if how Garcia will prepare and upset still possible as always.

No, I'd like to correct you with that. Davis's WBA belt is different from Haney's WBA belt, it's two different titles. WBA have 2 Champions: 1x for Davis for the Regular belt 1x for Haney for the Super World championship belt Which explains why Haney's belt is the WBA Super World Light while Davis got the WBA World Light. Davis fought that belt with Gamboa when it was vacated last 2019.

Maybe it's true. Ryan has been ducking Davis for some time but now we can see him claiming it was Davis that he was chasing which Davis was ducking. I can't see Davis being afraid of this guy.
Almost always, ducking just means their teams can't agree on terms. I don't think many fighters are scared of fighting another fighter. It's the promotions behind them that doesn't want to see their cash cow lose, so they're hesitant unless the money is there. Garcia is also probably one of the most exciting prospects before his break, so yeah they're going to protect him a little more in fear of derailing the hype train. I do doubt that Garcia himself was the one preventing this fight from happening, most fighters just love to fight, and they'll pretty much fight anyone out there. Having said that, I actually think Garcia can get this done in style.

From https://www.espn.ph/boxing/Garcia in an interview said that he will knock out Davis, he is going to do that early but if that will not happen this fight is going to be a slugfest. What do you think about his statement? is he really capable of Knocking an undefeated Tank Davis? We all know that Ryan Garcia is the underdog here, what's he trying to do, does he wants to be the favorite on this fight by convincing people he can KO Davis?

What do you think about his statement? is he really capable of Knocking an undefeated Tank Davis? I do think that he is more capable of knocking out anyone not only Davis and he has proven that as well. He has a very quick left hook, for sure you will see a lot of highlights from Ryan Garcia in youtube with that power. We all know that Ryan Garcia is the underdog here, what's he trying to do, does he wants to be the favorite on this fight by convincing people he can KO Davis?
It's obvious that he is trying to hype the fight right now, we know how he is really attach to his fans in his social media, so he is good at really hyping any fight of his when he open his mouth.

He has a very quick left hook, for sure you will see a lot of highlights from Ryan Garcia in youtube with that power. He can KO Davis if he can hurt him, thing is, Davis will not be a champion if he is not a great fighter, and at the same time he will not be undefeated if he is not good. Also, if you look at the betting odds, Davis is the heavy favorite, so in the eyes of the bettors, he is the better fighter. We all know that Ryan Garcia is the underdog here, what's he trying to do, does he wants to be the favorite on this fight by convincing people he can KO Davis?

Hype is necessary in order to sell the fight, so it's not something new, they can throw trash-talk against each other and that's just normal.
