So, have they finally been able to decide on the location of the match or are they keeping it a surprise or something?  I have not been able to get a straight answer ever since I first heard about the Davis vs Garcia match. And lets be honest, its been a long time coming, so I would not be surprised if all these secretive stuff is just another marketing tactic before the actual match.

I am pretty sure the match will be in Las Vegas but which stadium?

So far no news yet as to what stadium, but as I have said 3 possibilities right now for the promoter to get which one will fit all the fans. Yes, it will be in Las Vegas for sure, gambling + sports betting = huge revenue for them.

I don't think this is going to be a secret, marketing starts with the boxers themselves and how they can sell the fights to their fans.

But so far the hype is there so no matter which venues they pick, fans are willing to pay and watch it live.

Exactly, no matter what venue in the US, this fight will certainly attract a huge crowd because it'll be the first big fight this year. Everyone will be watching this, whether in the venue or the live streaming, so basically, making money is easy for the promoters since he has both undefeated champs who are both popular to the fans.

No doubt, this fight has been hyped for more than a year or two already and has been marinated throughout the time when both camps are still exchanging spicy words, and that certainly means that since then, they are already marketing the fight to see if it can attract and move a huge crowd to watch their fight. That is also why I understand that the organizers are looking for the most suitable venue to maximize their cut and to cater more audience that is willing to watch the said bout live.

And besides, people have been rooting for these two to finally settle into a rematch so this will be another biggest event this year that people should dare watching. And only by then, we will come to witness if Ryan will maintain his position and will stay undefeated at the end of the game. So regardless if where in Las Vegas this rematch will take place, people will surely go for it because this is a game that is a must watch this year.

As for the venue, they are talking about 3 possibilities, (a) MGM Grand Garden Arena, (b) T Mobile Arena, and (c) Allegiant Stadium.

So they are all in Las Vegas, the gambling capital so expect a lot of money going to flow not only in this fight, but in the casino's surrounding it. There has hasn't been a boxing event in Allegiant Stadium, the home of Las Vegas Raiders who reported to have a sitting capacity of 70,000.

MGM has 20,000 and T Mobile Arena 17,000 sitting capacity.

So let's wait till the final contract has been signed and if they are looking to sit more boxing fans, Allegiant Stadium might be the good choice here.

This might go to the Allegiant Stadium, I reckon. The organizers and promoters of boxing have always been similar in promoting their projects. They want to get as much people to buy their tickets as possible and make as much money as they can before the next promotional event hehehe.

This is Canelo's prediction for this fight.

Predictions are coming thick and fast, and Canelo is the latest to pick his winner. The undisputed super middleweight champ told ES News he’s choosing ‘Tank’ Davis to come out on top of a close contest.

“I think Tank has more experience. He’s got more things in his boxing skills. I think Tank, but it’s gonna be a good fight.”

He is right with his prediction, Tank Davis has more experience compared to Ryan Garcia, however, I think Garcia is not an easy opponent and he has the reach advantage, so that's the best factor that will give him an edge too if he'll use that effectively.

Boxers have their own prediction too, but it doesn't matter that they'll right most of the time because they only based their prediction on their personal opinion. Well, actually, no one can guarantee a win as even a gambling experts cannot guarantee who will win the fight.

So, do we have another boxers that have sided on Ryan Garcia here?

Or it is just the Canelo hated Ryan Garcia after their split, remember that they are best buddies and then Canelo says that Ryan doesn't have the mentally to become a great boxer, and then the bitter split with Reynoso their trainer.

So no surprise that Canelo will pick Tank. Tim Bradley picks Garcia, because he hated Tank hehehe.

One of them is right but we will only know right after the fight. Seeing celebrities in the boxing world giving their comments will only make this fight more interesting because it only tells that it's a popular fight and the fact that it's noticed by popular celebrities. Well, for Canelo, it might be something personal, but let's respect his opinion because it will not dictate the fight's outcome.

Other than that, we can truly understand him why he picked Tank Davis over Ryan Garcia because from what he said, Tank surely got an experience that will give him an upper hand on this fight despite of their size difference and his skills in boxing are more honed than Garcia too. Not really surprising because Canelo surely got a good comparison here because he also witnessed Garcia when they were still in the same stable.

Tim Bradley is getting personal, I think it has something to do about the harsh comment of Davis on Time Bradley that made Tim Bradley butthurt, LOL.  But regardless only a bosxer can prove their worth as a boxer so no matter what other say about them, they should prove to those bashers that they are better than those bashers thought.

True especially the celebrity is hot (popular).  The fans of this celebrity will definitely watch the fight if their idol advertised the fight.

Other articles mention that Ryan Garcia wanted special treatment from Eddy Reynoso and this is what the trainer cannot do because there was not enough time in his schedule. I reckon Frank Sanchez and Andy Ruiz also left Reynoso because the trainer also did not have time for them. There were some training sessions where Reyonso would not go for 2 weeks according to rumors. He only has time for Canelo hehehehehe.

It is a problem when your trainer is training other people. I think Tyson Fury has had a trainer that is dedicated to him and that is why he is world champ. Garcia needs to fine someone who can believe in his ability and sign a exclusive contract with him so that he cannot train anyone else. Garcia has enough money to pay someone to do this and he has many years ahead of him so I think that this could be something that trainers are interested in doing.

And with that, Goosen is now his trainer, and If I'm not mistaken, he used to train Garcia way before and him and his family knows each other very wall and so it makes sense for him to go back to where he started everything and it seems the marriage is just about right as Garcia has been winning fights since he left Eddy Reynoso's camp.

I guess you can't blame him, maybe Garcia just wanted more time from his trainer. However, we all know that Reynoso is just focused on Canelo, he is making big money from him, not just he is a trainer, I think he is also an advisor to Canelo as well.

And so kudos to coach Roach, who at still this time is still training very high caliber fighters after Manny Pacquiao is done with the sports. But obviously, no one can follow Manny's footsteps as he is the best prize pupil by Roach.

In any case, it appears that this superfight might be cancelled because of a disagreement on the rematch clause. I reckon that it would be unfair for Ryan Garcia to not have a rematch clause if he loses the fight. What if King Ry loses only through a decision after a fight that is very close that can also be argued that King Ry won? I am shaking my head on this.

Negotiations for the April 15th Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia mega-fight have hit a snag over the rematch clause for the fight. The Tank-Ryan fight is now in jeopardy, with a chance that it won’t happen unless one of the two sides gives in.

It is an easily solvable issue if you’re on Ryan Garcia’s side.  The rematch clause only comes into play if he wins, which some would say is highly improbable.

The clause is a one-sided one that can only be activated by Tank Davis (28-0, 26 KOs); his side management at PBC & network, Showtime, wants to be the lead promoter in the rematch if he loses to Ryan and chooses to activate it.

They’re already the lead promoters for the April 15th fight, but they want to continue to be for the rematch, even though it would only be activated if their fighter lost.

See this is the ugly truth about these promoters thing, not only does the boxers have conflict of interest sometimes, but with the promoters, it makes things complicated. Well, business as usual.
In this situation, Ryan can always opt to just walk away and forget this match if the other camp insists what they want and still being the fans favorite that'll make money as huge as this match with another opponent. This is indeed somehow unfair for Ryan's camp.
Nevertheless, what the article says is accurate. Hope this will not going to turn out to a be Crawford-Spence 2.0 LOL!

I don't like the sounds of it, when we thought that everything is set in, now comes another snag, yeah, everyone wanted to get advantage of each other, and it just a testament how brutal his business is for boxers and promoters.

I agree that it is somewhat unfair for Ryan and it seems they are not giving him any options for this fight. And if this fight not going to happen, they are going to put all the blame for Ryan, so it's very tough and lose-lose situation for him.

ALL big fights should have a rematch clause even if the favorite wins because these are big fights and while the champion might be the best 1 night he might not be the best on both nights. That sets up a trilogy which the fans will enjoy and the promoters will make a lot of money from it. I am sorry but Tank refusing a rematch clause is ducking Garcia. He knows Garcia would have wanted the rematch clause and this is just a easy way to avoid the fight. I think Garcia wants this fight and deserves the rematch clause. Tank is ducking.

At least Canelo is being honest and chill despite his past issues and differences with Ryan. With regards to the venue, a stadium might be cool to cater to more audiences but the organizers might opt for smaller, easier-to-manage, and boxing-proven venues like the MGM. They can easily match the gate revenue by increasing the price of the tickets. There are a lot of rich people regularly traveling to Vegas.

But the main issue right now is who will promote and what network will telecast if a rematch clause is activated. I cannot believe they are confident that this fight is happening yet this one which is very important is not yet agreed upon earlier. PBC showing its toxicity in boxing once again. Al Hymen is greedy once again despite his fighter being clearly the favorite. Obviously, GBP and DAZN should be the ones handling if ever a rematch is happening.

Easily match the revenue? Ticket prices would need to sell for x7 the amount that they usually do and you think that is fair? You think that is fair to all the fans that need to travel and book accommodation? They will lose money if they increase it by that amount and I do not think we as the fans should allow the promoters to get away with it because they want to make more money for themselves. If this fight happens which it probably will not it needs to the in the biggest venue possible it is a mega fight and one of the best in the division.

Things are still not finalized despite the date and the team's trying to make it happen. It's all because the promotion wants to make more money on tickets the fight will not happen.  This thread already is long enough to have more than 20 pages of discussion and all for nothing.  Cheesy

It's not exciting anymore to watch a fight from 10 meters away. I still doubt they will need a big venue for this. Fans today will prefer to just watch a replay on youtube.

The "rematch clause" is holding this fight back and if they can't agree on it then this fight might not happen at least this April 15. I think there will only be a rematch if Davis is defeated as he is the current champion so it's just fair that Golden Boy Promotion will handle the second if ever that happens so yeah that Al Haymon is killing this fight on paper once again.
