However, similar to what I have said, it can be argued that he might become the face of boxing if he wins this fight. The same argument can be created for Ryan Garcia. I also reckon that it would leave a bigger impression on the fans if Ryan Garcia is the winner. The occurrence might be compared to Muhamad Ali versus Sonny Liston where Ali was the underdog hehehe.

By the present standard, no you have to be charismatic and people love you and there should be no competition, both of them can make a claim, but they have to rule their division and become its undisputed champion and you must have a claim to be pound for pound the best boxer of that time.
Fury, Inoue, and Haney can make a claim on that title if they want to have a claim of the title, this is a good start, then after that, the winner has to face Haney.

The boxers that has been mentioned can of course make some statement like they will be the next face of the industry, however, before they can do that in reality, they should prove it first by dominating the whole division and do a clean-up just like the guys who previously got the pound-for-pound title. But since Devin Haney is not yet bound for a mandatory fight and given that he can defeat Loma, I'm thinking that the undisputed fight will face Shakur Stevenson next as that's what he want and then the winner of Tank-Garcia will have to wait until it's their turn.

As I have said previously here that Tank is going to train in Mayweather's gym, suddenly he tell us that it's no longer the case,

Quote
Goaded by Garcia during a twitter spat on Tuesday, Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) divulged that Mayweather banned the southpaw star from using his facilities.

“What? That Floyd’s petty ass said I couldn’t use his gym anymore. I don’t give a f---!” Davis wrote in a now deleted tweet.

https://www.boxingscene.com/tank-davis-says-mayweather-barred-him-from-using-gym-ahead-ryan-garcia-fight--173285

Maybe it's true, maybe not, and we don't know what is the intention of Floyd to banned Tank as we thought that everything is cool between the two even if Davis didn't renew his contract with Mayweather. Or maybe this is just to hype the fight more, but doesn't make sense since this is obviously one of the biggest fight of the year already.

On the same article, it's not just Ryan Garcia who revealed it as it looks like Gervonta Davis also confirmed the claim afterwards that Floyd Mayweather Jr. indeed banned the latter from entering and using any facilities inside Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now, just like what you've said, it's not disclosed why Tank was banned and why now? Fight is already nearing and Tank could really use some help by setting up his camp inside his former promoter's gym.

Anyway, sooner or later, we will know what's the root of this as I know that Tank Davis and his camp will release a statement as they don't like to be portraited as bullied in the social media.

It's not that a bad issue though, Davis already says that they are ban, so they might as well look for other gym in the area. Maybe Floyd is still hurt by Tank leaving him, or this is just a tactic by Davis or maybe this is not true at all.

And this is not going to affect the fight, maybe Ryan thinks he got the last laugh because of this, but for sure, doesn't matter for Tank and his trainer as they can adjust and maybe hire an another facilities to train close doors for this big fight.

Possibly there is another reason about this sudden issue about them, I really thought that they are still in good terms because Mayweather Jr. managed to get himself attached into this fight to make any money towards the fight as he named in one of the 3 organizers of this fight. There might be changes of terms that led Mayweather from banning Davis, we don't know. Nevertheless, this will not affect Davis's preparation for the fight and Mayweather won't be a factor if incase he's struggling when the fight begins.

Just surprising news though, I mean I also surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe (Floyd's Manager), behind Tank Davis during their the very first conference when they officially had this fight announce and then Tank himself says that he is going to used Floyd's gym. But then this week, when he was pressed by Ryan Garcia he revealed that he is ban, so it's hard to read between the line. But as we have said, this might be just s small setback for Tank, however, there are a lot of gyms around that he can used for himself.

Gervonta Davis was at a bold mood this week at the press conference for his blockbuster fight with Ryan Garcia, claiming he has taken Canelo Alvarez’ spot as the biggest star in boxing.

Clearly buoyed by that feat, the Baltimore puncher told attending media that he believes he stands alone as the biggest name in the entire sport.

“I feel as though I’m already that guy in the sport. Canelo is going out the door, all these guys. I’m the face of boxing, let’s just say that.”

After this win, it’s just me getting over the hump. If you don’t watch boxing, this is the fight to watch – for sure.”

Source https://boxing-social.com/news/gervonta-davis-warns-canelo-hes-new-face-of-boxing/

Anyone can claim this title but who knows who of them can prove it with statistics?  Not because Davis's fights are raking him lots of audiences, he will beat Canelo's statistics.  I think this claim is more of a promotional attempt to make people more interested in his coming fight.

Anyway, if the next coming fight is really exciting and Davis won it with an exclamation then there is a chance for his claim to materialized but if he lost to Garcia in a worst way then, we all know what will happen next.  Grin

Not only that, he must make sure that his fights gets the best ppv records.  By then he will be acknowledge as the face of the boxing sports because he excell on all aspect of boxing, performance, records, fight earnings.

I agree. There are a lot of factors that a boxers should consider first before they start calling themselves a face of the sport or before they see themselves, even the PPV King, Errol Spence Jr. is not the face, how much more to this boxer who is not even a champion in his present division. That's just funny to me because they are also the ones who are trying to make themselves a clown in-front of the avid boxing fans. What face did he mean? Grin He needs a lot of proving inside the ringbefore he can start saying those words.

Funny thing is that we're curious enough to know why did Floyd Mayweather Jr. banned Gervonta Davis from entering his facilities in Las Vegas, what we know recently is that they are in a pretty relationship now because we saw Leonard Ellerbe in the conference, but things have gone messed up when Tank is ready to set his camp at Floyd's gym. That really makes me wonder why, out of all the time, why now?

There is only one reason for this act and that is to hype his incoming fight.  It is all about promotion and marketing, even their argument, the contract drama, I also considered as a marketing ploy to make the audience excited about the fight.  Well, we know Boxing is also a kind of business, so there is a lot of drama, acting, promotion, and marketing in order to bring profit to the fight.  Even those exchanges of hate words are part of the marketing ploy IMHO.

I just hope that these boxers can deliver the excitement the viewers expected.

currently all sports have become a big business and a real money making machine, promoters and the guys who manage the image of fighters in particular and athletes in general manage to maximize the revenue raised, for example currently a fighter when he has a lot of potential, the tv channels, the newspapers, the social networks just keep talking about him and on the day of the fight the promoters of the event sell a lot of tickets and also make money with transmission payments that the tv channels make, but it doesn't end there

the athlete's image managers give tips for the athlete to have many followers on social networks and with that manage to obtain many sponsorships, consequently the athlete earns money for fighting, earns money with his social networks, but it does not end there, the image managers athlete's image they also charge money for the athlete to go to a certain event like parties, for example, so the athlete also earns money just for being at a party, that's why many athletes do everything to get attention, when they are not headlines in the news channels and social networks so there is no sponsorship. I wonder how much money they will make from ticket sales and broadcast payments on this Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight

We can say that it can happened but more on how the camps will negotiate in between, we all know that this is
not just a sport, but also a business where promoters will probably love to gain more ticket sales.

But like what you mentioned, they can claim things or every title holder can say that they are the best or become the face of this sport
but most likely the face should be the one who keeps winning not just the fight but more on the fan base hypes.

currently all sports have become a big business and a real money making machine, promoters and the guys who manage the image of fighters in particular and athletes in general manage to maximize the revenue raised, for example currently a fighter when he has a lot of potential, the tv channels, the newspapers, the social networks just keep talking about him and on the day of the fight the promoters of the event sell a lot of tickets and also make money with transmission payments that the tv channels make, but it doesn't end there

the athlete's image managers give tips for the athlete to have many followers on social networks and with that manage to obtain many sponsorships, consequently the athlete earns money for fighting, earns money with his social networks, but it does not end there, the image managers athlete's image they also charge money for the athlete to go to a certain event like parties, for example, so the athlete also earns money just for being at a party, that's why many athletes do everything to get attention, when they are not headlines in the news channels and social networks so there is no sponsorship. I wonder how much money they will make from ticket sales and broadcast payments on this Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight

No figure as for the moment but for sure they will maximize the potential and they will use all the possible channels to reach
the fans and make decent money for this upcoming fight.

It's a sport where money is flowing, with the right marketing and the right sponsors both fighter's camp will generate huge amount of money.

We might expect more trash talks when the fight is nearing, both fighters will use their social media channels to create hypes and
to make sure that they will make money and enjoy everything after the fight.

True, even if the beef is real, after the fight they will have to settle down and embrace like a real warrior and embrace the result. If they deem to have a rematch then good for us, if not then they did their best to hype it even more although we have said that this could be one of the biggest if not the biggest draw for this year. And what is a fight without this trash talking hehehe, we wouldn't understand if one is not American, but both are and they have history of talking trash against their opponents in the past specially Tank Davis as he used to be one of the best trash talker in business, and that is Floyd hehehehe. So yeah, let them bad mouth each other and let's see who can back up that talk.

And talking about Floyd, him and Tank crossing path at the Plant vs Benavidez fight,

Also, the promoters should rent Las Vegas Raiders' Allegiant stadium, have a big screen and let everyone pay $100 per person to watch the fight hehehe.
Well, that's a first if that indeed happens but they should swap the venue though because Allegiant Stadium can hold more people compared to T-Mobile Arena.

That's quite too much for him to say especially that he ain't got the WBA world title belt, or any of those existing belts that is now possessed by the undisputed champion, Devin Haney. And he's saying and comparing himself towards Canelo Alvarez? Grin Boy, I know you got talents but you still have a long way to go and that's for sure.

However, similar to what I have said, it can be argued that he might become the face of boxing if he wins this fight. The same argument can be created for Ryan Garcia. Either can be the face of boxing, because as far as drawing fans to their fights, it's easy for them, they have the charisma specially Ryan Garcia. For Tank Davis his trash talk and the way he demolished his opponents with highlight knockout.

Not sure if we can compare it to the great Muhammad Ali, they don't have any belts, either one of them, it's that they are the main draw in this division and not the champion in Haney.

I was only trying to make a argument of the type of storyline the sports news media might create if Ryan Garcia wins the fight. If he knocks out Tank with an unseen left hook it would certainly be written in the news as something similar to Muhammad Ali's phantom punch used against Sonny Liston hehehehe.

Ryan has the charisma and he appears to be well educated. Tank appears to be someone who is from the streets when you listen to him.

Fair enough, yeah it could be big as the Ali upset on Liston that time, and it seems that's where Ali has started his trash talking though and from what I read it was like over before the actual fight because they say that Liston is really affected on what is Ali is saying on the public against him. I mean the psyche war is already won by Ali already.

Not just that he look very educated + charisma. It maybe stem from him always praising God first during his win or when he is interviewed.

It seems that the kid is God fearing and that's where he got his strength.

Also, he is the underdog which really doesn't matter to him because it comes inside the ring it should be a different story because they are both capable of knocking out each other and though Davis is the upper hand in the eyes of the boxing expert, I'm sure there will be lots of fans cheering for Garcia because he has lots of fans and supporters all around the world. That's why he really needs to practice how to successfully land his signature punch against Davis so that it will become a never-forgetting moment in boxing history.

But we know that those factors alone won't be enough to upset a champion like Gervonta Davis who got more experience and have a vast IQ inside the ring but Ryan though, I admire him for always praising God after every fight and doing a little prayer before the fight commence. There's no obvious evidence but I believe too that that's where Ryan got his strength. I mean, everybody started from scratch and Davis have also been in Ryan's phase, so what I'm trying to say is that this fight will determine both careers.

Upset is very possible because Ryan got a vicious KO punch and as well as Tank, it will be a battle of who got a better concrete plan but I expect a heavy defense and a waiting game as both boxers will wait until one of them will execute until it gives an error.

Both camps have a lot of fans, and that will make the fight successful in terms of revenue. As for expectations, it's sure to be an exciting fight as both are knockout artists. I would be surprised if this ends in judges' scorecards. I can't wait to see this fight. While they are continuing to train now, they should also continue to hype this fight so they can maximize revenue.
But it's obvious that Ryan has more fans he is the social media king of boxing with over 9.3 million followers
https://www.instagram.com/kingryan/ but from the boxing perspective he needs to win at least one title to make him a legit boxing superstar, he may be an Instagram superstar but Haney and Gervonta are miles ahead when it comes to boxing legacy, so Ryan needs to win this because some people think he is overrated with only Instagram fans to boost his name.

But I bet only half of those followers of Ryan Garcia are a legit boxing fan and the other half are they just know the sport but is not really into it, or not their kind of thing.

Anyway, regarding about the achievement in their respective career. He (Ryan) is really way lower than the champions of the division, that includes Gervonta Davis even if he doesn't got the world champion belts like Devin Haney. But we can already say too that Tank already established his name that's why he is now on his current position but if Ryan Garcia upsets this one, it will be a game changer as another hype will come and people will start calling the undisputed champ to face Ryan Garcia.

It is also possible that most of those followers are bought service.  So I think it is more than half that is not lefit boxing fan of Ryan Garcia.

Anyway, regarding about the achievement in their respective career. He (Ryan) is really way lower than the champions of the division, that includes Gervonta Davis even if he doesn't got the world champion belts like Devin Haney. But we can already say too that Tank already established his name that's why he is now on his current position

Davis had been performing well and dominating his Division while Ryan Garcia is just starting out.  It is obvious that in terms of accomplishment Davis has way more accomplishment than Garcia.  That is also another reason why Garcia is targetting Davis for years now so that he can nullify those accomplishments of Davis if he beat him.

Quote
but if Ryan Garcia upsets this one, it will be a game changer as another hype will come and people will start calling the undisputed champ to face Ryan Garcia.

That may be the way boxing match goes, if Ryan Garcia wins then the next target will be the undisputed champ.

Yeah, for sure he knows that he is a big underdog here, even before the fight, he had that idea that he will be and so he could used this to motivate him more in beating Tank and could be right there with the biggest upsets in boxing history like the Liston vs Ali in the 60's. Ryan Garcia has a lot of fans, both inside and outside of boxing, and probably Davis fans comes only from his boxing so they are casuals who love how Tank is inside and knocking people out with his power. He already developed that perfect left hook, it's just a matter of how he is going to execute it in fight now. The timing and the quickness to react will be the key for him to win because that will be his biggest weapon here, he has the height and reach advantage already.
