The manipulation that we are seeing is disgusting.

This is a dark entity trying to prevent the inevitable...

Why is it disgusting? Were you hoping your bitcoins to be worth more or your fiat to be worth more?

Manipulating the market in opposition to where it would normally go is a very risky game. If someone can do it successfully, more power to them, literally.

What is the inevitable? And if they are preventing it, wouldn't they lose money when the inevitable occurs?

Here's how I avoid being a shark's dinner. I don't swim in the ocean. If I knew I could out swim a shark, you can be damn certain I would do it.
They are trying to hold back triple digit BTC'S.
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Forget what you learned in May-June.... this is a different market.

We will get nowhere fast..

You believe BTC'S are right where they should be...

I believe that Bitcoins are severely undervalued, based off simple mathematics...

Luckily we don't see people ascribing market action they don't agree with to some deep conspiracy being executed by 'them'.

This is false.  Please don't make assumptions about my beliefs.  I also believe is is undervalued in the long term.  In fact, I hold quite a few BTC for this reason.

What I don't believe is that the doubters will allow the rally to happen before they take enough losses to give up.  These small wins are fortifying their positions, but there is an uptrending support, so I'm not too worried.  We will break through, but I doubt it will happen tonight.  They made a lot of profit shorting us down to 2.

Bitcoin Bulls...

I AM DISAPPOINT.
It has been hard as hell. We almost broke 7.20 yesterday, then this massive ask wall comes out of nowhere...

No biggie... I just like to play the contrarian, so I can sound bullish or bearish at any time.  I try to bring people towards the middle.  I believe it will help stabilize the price, but that begs the question why I would want to reduce these awesome spikes... Very profitable.  I guess I'm just self-contradictory at times Wink.

Relax guys.  I'm the biggest long-term bull around, but I don't want to call a rally right now... it's a bit precarious.

I think I'll stop watching the price.  I saw it sliding back to 6.7 for the 9001st time today and it's really getting old.

Wow, been at work all day and hadn't had a chance to see what's been going on.  So, who flipped the order book around?

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

There's some nice charts showing it happen in General Discussion:

I have been logging the mtgox order book lately. thinking about new charts for bitcoinX.

thought I would share these large movements of the order book. ~$250000 AND ~BTC50000 in the glimpse of an eye

the chart goes back ~27 days. data points every 17minutes.

subplots:
first: btc price
second: B * A (not very useful atm)
third: blue: all bids in the full order book summed up [$, left] (B), red: all asks in the full order book summed up [btc, right] (A)

I see where it "should" go, based on past trends. Just waiting for it...
