Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu)

First of all congratulations to Nigeria on getting their own Local Community Board.

Since theymos is working today may I get this opportunity to request for the local board for the Pakistani community too?

We have (if not better) much similar stats to Nigeria in terms of forum posts and activity.

Dear theymos based on above stats can we request a Local Pakistani board too?

Reasons:

• Pakistan's national language is Urdu (اردو)
• There's no local language board for Urdu
• Based on the above stats, we have more activity then Nigeria
• All communications are jumbled in one thread, Urdu English getting mixed
• Technical, Non-Technical or Political Discussion are no more possible to track
• India Yes we need our own board too, we don't speak Hindi

Since theymos is working today may I get this opportunity to request for the local board for the Pakistani community too?

Afaik, Cyrus as well has the rights to create new local boards (well, at least he granted us new child boards) so he might have been behind Nigerian local board as well. By the way, have you ever sent PM to either of those two, with arguments why you think there should be a Pakistan local board, or at least to give you some criteria that you have to meet?

Needless to say that I think that you deserve local board as well but even if you don't get it anytime soon, at least you know now that it is still possible, as long as you keep your local thread active as you have been doing for some time.

Really, looking at your posting history, it makes sense to have a local forum.

It will all depend on the management and organization that is being made to the forum.

You did well to remember your existence, so that this possibility can be analyzed. Then it's knowing how to wait for the right moment.

We have been waiting for so long but thank you shahzadafzal now at least we have an official request.
 
Anyway dear theymos/Cyrus please give us our own local board. Trust me in current thread we can’t keep any constructive discussion any more. Also our local language is Urdu and Urdu spoke by million of people not only in Pakistan but all the Pakistan living abroad too. Also we one of active and emerging nation in crypto.

It's great to see new Nigerian local board added to forum, and i think the regular monthly local board reports made by Rikafip helped a lot with this change.
Pakistan community has similar activity like Nigerian so I think it's possible to expect this change in near future, but let's see how much members from Pakistan really want this to happen.
I always imagined that Pakistan and India speak same or similar language, but this is not the case, most Indians also speak very good english language.

Theymos, Cyrus at least the numbers are saying to give a local board for Pakistan community. Let the force of bitcoin to be with them and enlighten their financial freedom. A new local board means many opportunities to contribute in the bitcoin ecosystem locally. Not everything can be expressed in a single topic.

May be a local campaign to support the topic will give us some more insights except the numbers that are presented. What do you think @shahzadafzal?

We congrats Nigeria brothers and sisters for the new board created for them by theymos, this has been a long request for them. If Nigerias in the forum were patient enough to have their local board then you can also apply the methods and the approaches used by the Nigerians to achieve theirs. Your application has been seen by theymos and other higher rank members. One thing I discovered from the approval of the local board is the activeness of the particular local members and the total number of active members in the local thread. So prepare your numbers on that.

As after checking your stats. Pakistan community really deserve to have one board for themselves. As the number of posts represent the activeness of members in Pakistan board. I as Pakistani really love to get this opportunity and thanks shahzadafzal for leading this community to a good point.

Local Pakistani thread was created 9 years ago and has active discussion, I think it's worth having their own board compared to some local boards which are not very active (or only filled with translation topics about altcoins) like Japanese and Hebrew.

Hi dear community, First of all, congratulation to Nigeria for the local board, As the discussion, is on for Pakistan (Urdu) local board I think now is the time. As we all know the benefits of the separate board rather than the Thread. As shahzadafzal mentioned our activity is better or at least close to Nigeria, Point is it's hard to catch up on all sorts of information from the same page as there is a political discussion, economic, and sometimes news & updates too so in such type of discussion most of time important content got skipped and feedback experience also got spoiled. As always Shahzadafzal leading the way, I think many other community members will share their experiences soon.

Board is much help as we all know that so why not, it can boost education and activity in the community. I think it's a fair-time request.  
Almost all of the Pakistani members are interested in their own local board so let's see how much time it takes, we are ready to do our best.

We didn't have any new local board created for a long time and now i come to know that a Nigerian local board is created. First of all, congratulations to them of having their own board now.

Since the Nigerian local board is created, it means other local communities can feel confident that their local board will be created if they are active. Seeing the Pakistan thread stats I think they also deserve a local board.

Also, i don't think there is any drawback if the few top active local threads are given the privilege of the local board.

I think that bolded part is the key. While Pakistan thread was/is very active, Nigerians have more high ranking active accounts that actually supported their cause. I am not saying that Pakistani members doesn't deserve their own local board (based on their numbers I think they do) but imho that might be the reason why Nigerians got it first.

I always imagined that Pakistan and India speak same or similar language, but this is not the case, most Indians also speak very good english language.

Afaik their languages are similar and they both also have English as one of the official languages, but from what I noticed while making those monthly overviews is that Pakistani members are reluctant to write in Indian board. After all, in Indian board members write in English so its perfectly normal for them to prefer writing in Urdu in their own topic instead.

Also, i don't think there is any drawback if the few top active local threads are given the privilege of the local board.

Imo, the reason why forum staff is reluctant to add new boards is because there's quite a few local boards that eventually became dead/semi-dead. That of course doesn't mean that they shouldn't take a risk from time to time, but I also understand why they are very selective.

I am from Pakistan and wish we had a local board. If anyone follows our board, he/she will know that we have all the ingredients to have a local board. Also Urdu is a major language of the world and 85+ Million people speak Urdu language world wide.

Also if the local board is not created for Pakistan (Urdu) at this moment, i  would request theymos to at least let us know the reason for this and also guide us on what is missing in the local thread which we need to improve on in order to get a local board. We are always open for suggestions.

Hello dear, I see what you're trying to do but in trying to get yourself a local board by riding on the success of the Nigerian local baord, don't make it seems like we deserve this achievement any less please. You guys should work on your request and put some determinations into your request, we did similar thing and it worked out for us. The dominance of Nigerian on the forum in less than 3years since the availability of the hangout thread has been impressive, We even have so many users that have identify themselves to be Nigerians (with me) but are yet to identify with the community due to the fear of been discriminated but we let their wishes be (the forum is anonymous so we can't force an identity on anyone).

I see you comparing the numbers but I don't think it's all about that in getting your request approved, you had just 18 active members last month while we had over 70, all engaging in production discussion as we mandated on the thread with low quality been deleted (discouraged). Lets talk about the activeness of our local users on the general forum, you can take a look at the names on the table, alot of them are quite productive on the general forum and Nigeria like thread are filled all over the forum.

You guys should come together and make some quality noise for yourself and try to encourage other native users to engage on your thread and carry your total engagement up in regards to users contributing to the thread instead of posts been made. Goodluck on your request, make it a little less competitive but appealing.

I think that's the main reason why we don't have new local boards, i.e. there are many existing local boards are already created but with very little activity.
Very recently Nigerians were given a local board and they deserve it so because of there continuous activity in "other languages/ locations". I would say on the same grounds Pakistani community is also very active and stats are already shown in this thread.
May be moderator can move less active local boards to " other languages/ locations " and give active community there own local board.

This is an aspect that affects many local boards. There are many users who, despite being from a particular country or language, end up not participating in that country/language board. Perhaps because of the aspect you mentioned, because they think it has greater privacy or repales.

I think this shouldn't happen on a forum like Bitcointalk, although unfortunately I know it happens.

In turn, I don't think it's the fact that it only has 18 active users, clearly, that prevents them from having a local board. Those 18 can be much more active than the 70 of other cadres (I'm not saying that those 70 participate little).

I really love this idea from shahzadafzal  because we are waiting for long time even things are still needed more activity and positive conversations, but still now we deserve this local Board in URDU because in last few years members are increasing, and we have few very good and legit members as well those are doing positive contribution to this forum if we will be able to have our local board then surely things could be positive, and we will be able to contribute better which will increase awareness about bitcoin in Pakistan which is currently suffering from financial issues but this bitcoin and cryptocurrency can improve common peoples life better.

The activity of Pakistani thread during the past years provides sufficient evidence that it is an active and growing community and deserves its own board. It is highly unlikely that it will become dead or semi dead board , because awareness about block chain technology and interest in crypto currencies is on rise in Pakistan.

You are right there are active members for us too but they are afraid to identify as Pakistani due to the fear of being discriminated against.

Regarding the definition of active members I included only members which are active in last couple of months on our Pakistan Thread only, not bitcointalk overall forum and If you notice I did not even included the creator of Pakistan thread Abdussamad (OP) himself

Oh,i was reading the whole discussion above, sir CryptopreneurBrainboss we are not pointing out your efforts for the local as we know how you and your community built up and executed the application, i do appreciate all the efforts.
As shahzadafzal mentioned that he Just included those members who are most active from previous months consistently and as far it is concerned i think there many Pakistani members on the Forum but they are not active on the Thread even dear i know that 70% of Pakistani members don't even know that there is a Particular thread for Pakistani community just because it's in the other languages section.

But i would prefer now that Theymos should give us a chance to us as there are many in-active boards but we are active ones so let's see I am pretty excited now about all this and I will definitely try to motivate my fellows in the community and forum to support us.
