I first saw the news in our continental football thread in the forum and I made a research on it and I found out that it is true the Iran will not play/participate in the 2026 was world. I have said this here. In normal human sense, Iran will not participate in this world cup because of the war.

if Iran decides to boycott the World Cup it will only be their choice, I don't think there will be any problems from FIFA which will certainly not prevent this from happening, even if I suspect that these teams are doing everything they can to not participate and no one can prevent it this is what I noticed

Yeah and which is very bad but they have no other option especially since the United States are the one hosting the World Cup, things like this should not be happening, and this is the main reasons why peace is very important in the world and why countries should not be fighting each other. I really don’t understand why these two nations are fighting each other and allowing their citizens to suffer the people who are suffering more right now are the Iran citizens, they don’t have peace anymore because of the numerous attack they have been having for a very long time now this is not the first time this kind of thing is happening in Iran, we need peace in the world.
From what I saw online, some part of the country don’t have electricity anymore, and their Internet are now restricted by the government and it’s affecting the citizens.
I believe this World Cup won’t be interesting if this fight don’t stop.

Iran have no choice other than doing it. They did it caused by the hosted country bombed their country. So they have to ensure they have credibility and pride for his dead leader. I guess all of their players could understand it well. So this is the only right measure that makes sense for their team at this point.

Iran's problems are caused by some internal problems, which all countries have. Of course, there are more with dictatorships. Clearly, these countries are unstable and America, which never minds its own business, had to intervene. It seems to me that they want to intervene at all costs. i would still let them participate in the World Cup.

this thing must not interfere with sport in any way ever, but they don't understand this and they try in every way to do the impossible to try to put a spoke in Iran's wheels, in this case i believe that the USA is involved in cahoots with FIFA which is trying for some strange reason to keep them out..

I really hate to see Sweden playing for qualifying for this world cup i mean they dont deserve it, is a complete failure on the system how they got there, they were one of the worst team in the real qualifiers but for some strange UEFA preselection of the spots they have another chance more when i repeat they were the worse team in their group. In my opinion, Iran made right decision to boycott FIFA World Cup 2026 due their country attacking by United State as the host and FIFA not giving any decision yet or punishment yet by United State.
FIFA still not release announcement yet about Iran already boycott the World Cup 2026 for possibility which one team will replace Iran position, in other side have bad news bout Iraq national will play the playoff round match because get difficulty with travel there trough airplane. Iraq team have the qualifier match before qualifying to the World Cup and the current situation make difficult exactly for Asian team have away match.

You don't have to hate them but what you have to do is to ignore them and don't watch their match because from the way you sounded, they will not do well the World Cup and they will be kicked out from the group stage. If you watch their games, you will have heart attack. Those are teams that are used to increase the number of teams in the World Cup.

The situation is not the best. i have always been against mixing politics and sport. Unfortunately, sport, being also a vector of visibility, economics and money, is used inappropriately and unfairly when the aim should be to reward the best and strongest.

I understand FIFA rules forces team to play in the spot that they earned. However, it's kinda weird if FIFA keeps force them to play when their country is under serious conflict. At this point i think FIFA is only wanting to impose them fines.

I don't like politics in sports at all. But I respect Iran's decision in the current context. The war has not been resolved yet and neither side has sat down to negotiate, so sending Iranian players to the US would not be the right decision. They certainly have security concerns, which the Iranian government has to consider. We haven't received any official announcement from FIFA yet, maybe they are trying to find a solution.

FIFA should learn from this and not give the responsibility of hosting the World Cup in the future to a country that has the potential for war. Try to host the World Cup in a neutral country where everyone can travel without any restrictions. Visa complications were the main problem in the US, now the war has presented another problem. I also have doubts about granting visas to Iranian players. This is a respectable decision on the part of Iran.

US has also issued warning to Iran not to come to their country to participate in the world cup.

The politicization of Fifa has gone a lot harder n the recent years and it is not looking good for them. World Cup is one of the most viewed sporting events in the world, the finals of World Cup could be the highest views anywhere in the world and when we are talking about something this big, it makes no sense that it got this political.

Iran or USA is not the only thing, I mean we are talking about the whole Qatar fiasco as well, they just let it be even after tens of thousands of death and very minimal number of tourists wanting to go there. Obviously something has to be done about this and yet they are not really willing to do that, as long as they are political and money making, they are going to keep pissing fans off.

Make no mistake, when it comes to visitors, many others will be discriminated against in some way when entering the US - because even though I'm from the EU and don't need a visa to travel to the US before I'm allowed to enter the country, I would have to present a lot of things that really don't make sense if I'm coming from a friendly country. I don't know if these rules will come into effect before the World Cup, but I would never agree to something like that.

they will find a way to get the fans in no matter what the cost, i don't think there will be any problems, the United States has been organizing this competition for years and i don't think they will stop anytime soon, now they have to try to do as much good as possible and optimize the profits from the competition.

Well, it's a long and complicated story but at this point is mainly about what Israel wants. not the USA. The USA are just following Israel because they can't ignore their best ally in the Middle East. But this war was started by Israel. The whole social-political situation in that part of the world is extremely complicated because culturally they base everything on religion. I'm not a religious person so hearing things like "that land was promised to us thousands of years ago" or "this person/god said things must be done this way" is quite ridiculous to me. Of course I don't mean to offend anyone but, as I said, if people would think more with their own brain the situation could improve.

100% agree! This world cup might be on top in regards of controversy and everything surrounding it. Look, I really don't want to defend Iran because surely I'm not a fan of their Islamic regime and I really feel bad for all the people who lost their life just because they were asking for more rights, but Iran's withdrawal from the World Cup is all about the USA and Israel, not their internal problems. Hadn't Iran be attacked, they would (probably) still take part to the World Cup.

yes, in fact, now that i think about it, no one thinks about the situation Iran is in, and i think football is the least of this nation's problems, but understanding something like this is fortunately not possible for nations that are not involved in a war, i must say that we are very lucky to be able to think about football.

Iran is being victimized multiple times here. First of all, they are getting bombed by Israel and the United States. And now FIFA is threatening to cancel their membership, if they refuse to travel to the United States. The most logical thing to do would be to allow Iran to withdraw and replace them with Iraq (as they finished next during the AFC Qualifiers). You can't force a team to travel to a venue where their players are not safe. But I don't expect much from FIFA, which has been proved to be a corrupt, teethless and biased organization. They became bullies only against weak teams.
