The Czech Republic failed to secure a win in their second group match either. Having drawn against South Africa, the Czech Republic picked up their first point in the group. Although they went into the half-time break leading 1–0 thanks to an early goal, they were unable to prevent a penalty goal towards the end of the second half and the match ended in a draw. South Africa were the side closer to victory in the match because, in my opinion, they put in a better performance.

For me I’m honestly disappointed at Czech Republic in this tournament, i was thinking they will be amongst the dark horse of the tournament but Instead they are looking like they won’t get pass the group stage. It the second time in this tournament that they scored first and failed to win the match. I was thinking after that goal they would build on that momentum but instead they failed to do so.

On the other hand South African got a point, they played really well today, it a very deserving point and I would even say they deserve to get all 3 points. Maybe if they had played this well against Mexico they might have been able to get a point also in that game.

Türkiye failed to get off to the start it wanted in the tournament, losing to Australia in its first match. Paraguay, meanwhile, suffered a heavy defeat against the U.S. , raising serious questions about its defense. For this reason, both teams must earn points or even win in their second match. For Türkiye, the key to this match will be starting the game with more confidence and showing greater productivity on offense. I expect Paraguay to respond in a similar manner. This could heighten the tension of the match. We’ll witness a game where the team that scores first will gain a significant psychological advantage. Türkiye’s roster quality and need to bounce back give them a slight edge in this match.

Australia played negative football and spent the entire match defending against Türkiye.

Since Türkiye doesn’t have a target forward, it struggles against teams like this.

for Cristiano Ronaldo this is a test that he wants to pass at all costs, and the eternal challenge against Leo Messi is about to begin on the first one, he failed but i don't think he will stop on the first one but he will try to pass more and more and train more and more, until he gets to win, i know him, i know he can do it, he has an extraordinary mentality.

All the responsibility for Portugal falls on Ronaldo, why? Portugal isn't just Ronaldo. Ronaldo isn't the only one in charge of making Portugal win. They have PSG players and I didn't see them, they didn't shine. If Ronaldo isn't given the passes, he can't score goals, so Ronaldo shouldn't play as a striker but as a midfielder. Everyone criticizes Ronaldo because he's the biggest star, but that pressure shouldn't be borne by just one player.

If I'm  the coach I wouldn't even allow him to start a match until goals are being secured with high win assurance. Portugal and even Ronaldo have to pick between winning worldcup  or giving Ronaldo a free play because of his status. He needs the trophy right then he should step down  for someone that can make that possible in the position he's occupying .

I don't have issues wih Ronaldo but they need to stop comparing him with Messi. Messi can't perform that much either, his teammates  are the one doing most of the work but he still got the finishing and dribbling in him .

I agree that the most favorable outcome for Mexico and South Korea in their head-to-head match is a draw. it's possible the teams will even try to save their energy in this match. thus, they will earn four points each while South Africa and Czech Republic each will have only one. as for the match between South Africa and Czech Republic itself, both teams looked weak. moreover, Czech Republic was very bad physically towards the end of the match and only poor execution prevented South Africa from winning this match.

Mexico does not look like they will be saving energy against south Korea, they have same points as south Korea and so they will not want to further loose points so they will make sure to do all they can to get at least a point to maintain the tie as much as possible.

Even if it happens that Mexico does not play conservatively, a draw is still very attainable in that game, but I do anticipate a win for Mexico more than I look forward to a draw in that fixture. I am looking at it that most likely, Mexico and south Korea may be the only teams in that group to get passed group stage.

Mexico have no other option than to win South Korea. It is not going to be an easy game it will be a physical battle between the two side. We all know South Korea is not a bad side. They have some dangerous key players who can create something out of nothing. My bet on this game will be both team to score a draw.

The Senegal defenders performed carefully in this game, but suddenly the French team applied so much pressure that the French team was able to score three goals in a row. Even in the Algeria match, Messi was lucky not to receive a red card in my opinion. If it had been another player the decision might have been different. Canada and Qatar game is on right now and Canada is definitely making the most of it. After their first game for the tournament ended in a draw, of course they were going to be out for 3 points in this second game and so far, it doesn’t seem like there would be anything stopping them now.
It’s the first half with some minutes still on the clock and they’ve already gone 2 goals in the lead with a Qatar player to have picked up a red card. A 10 men Qatar team wouldn’t be able to fend off this 11 men Canada team That would be out to make the most of this game. I would hope to see at least over 3.5 goals for Canada in this match.

It was really a disappointing performance from the Portugal team and a bad start to the World Cup competition. Though DR Congo had a strong wall to block attacks from every corner and that was commendable, but it was possible to break through that defense with players like Bruno Fernandez and Vitinha in the midfield and secure a win.

With the current performance,  I don't see that Portugal would have a good run in the World Cup this year, accompanied with the current form of Christiano Ronaldo who is not so fit for the runs and finish the attack deserves.

The way you pessi fans analyze football sometimes makes me wonder if you people actually have ball knowledge at all. How can you expect a 41 year old man to be running around the field and doing crosses or creating chances when you have agile and younger players like Bruno Fernandez and Vitinha and Joao nevez on the team C’mon now let’s be for real. Ronaldo is a striker for Christ sake and the work of a striker is to score goals. Those attacking midfielders and wingers had one job to do and that was to feed Ronaldo with enough passes and crosses so as to create a chance for goals but they failed at doing their jobs well and now all of a sudden it’s Ronaldo fault? Imagine having some of the best midfielders like Vitinha, Bruno Fernandez and Joao Nevez on your team and they were not even able to create any significant big chances for a full 90 minutes. Even though Nevez scored, he did not meet up to his expectations as a midfielder in that match. They would get to the edge of the box and instead of them to cross the ball in, they will prefer to pass back it’s just crazy!! I expected more from them especially Bruno Fernandez considering that he has the highest assist in the premier league, he didn’t live up to that hype in that match against DRC. Roberto Martinez the coach made some mistakes too and he needs to do better and select players that will perform well to play instead of just selecting anybody. I believe Fransisco Conceicao would have done a better job that day than Bernardo Silva and the fact that he even put Bernardo Silva in the right wing position made me feel like he doesn’t know what he is doing at all. Bernardo Silva has stopped being a winger for a very long time now, he plays more as a midfielder so I don’t know why Martinez put him in the right wing position in that match. And also he should have played Joao Felix on the left wing too in that match because he has a good synergy with Ronaldo considering the fact that they’re both playing for Al-Nassr, he would have done better than Neto in fact.
The Portugal team seriously need to work on their chemistry because it is very obvious that there is none between them. They should learn how to be able to make sacrifices for each other on the field of play. I think this is where the coach needs to come in and talk to these players, let’s leave tactics asides, they need to be sat down and talked to. I was not impressed with their performance at all cos they didn’t play like a big team at all. They were not imposing enough. Cristiano being a senior player needs to talk to these players too and encourage them to put their head in the game so they can go far in this competition.

And for all the people shouting that Cristiano has to step down for the other player to play, you all are clueless. I can tell you for free that if Ronaldo doesn’t play for them, they can’t go far in this competition and I say this with my full chest. In fact they should be counting themselves lucky that Ronaldo plays for them because if they finish playing their rubbish they can always have someone to put the blame on which is Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Switzerland-Bosnia Herzegovina match was very boring in the first half, and the beginning of the second half was equally boring; I was almost falling asleep. I thought it would continue like that. However, a few substitutions in the Swiss team completely changed the game. Manzambi scored the opening goal as soon as he came on.

I didn't expect much from the Switzerland march, but I knew that if Bosnia and Herzegovina is given a real challenge, the football atmosphere could change; that's exactly what played our after Manzambi scored at the 74th minute, and before we knew it, four other goals found their ways into the net. I guess both sides becomes energized with that, as Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted an equaliser badly, but forgot they were playing with a better team, and therefore paid more for it, especially since they couldn't defend well. It became even more tensed and desperate, which sent Muharemović off the pitch. Regardless, kudos to Mahmić who still made sure a goal was possible even with 10- man squad on their side, though Switzerland retaliated almost immediately.

I think it is a new pattern that hosting competitions are evolving into because now one country may no longer host, but a couple of countries put it together to make the competition a success. I believe that before these competitions the individual countries must have had a discussion and a plan within themselves to see how transportation between each other will be swift and easy for every player and visiting official as well as spectators who are interested in watching every game live. If the Footballing Federation observes that there is a difficulty in this new pattern that they are trying to adopt, I think that it will be abandoned and the old pattern will be absorbed in use again.

It's already decided now, there's no way Qatar is surviving this. It's 5 goals now without a reply from them so I don't see anything that can be done now. They are almost near the end and Canada still look the sharpest and the two red cards received made it worse for Qatar, at this point I don't see them getting past the group stage, they are definitely going home after their next game.

It's still not guaranteed but obviously South Korea and Mexico are definitely the better team in that group and I also think they will be teams to make it to the next round. Mexico and South Korea are facing each but there's no reason to be scared of the outcome since South Africa and Czech Republic couldn't earn much point and are still left behind. In the end I don't think anything will change, we already know which team is performing better.

 Canada saw red today and were able to do to Qatar that which they couldn't do to Bosnia. It's such a pity that Qatar are out of the tournament in the early stages but to be fair, I doubt it that they had any hopes of going far after escaping with a point when they played against Switzerland, it was only a matter of time before their luck runs out because Canada won't like to be amongst those teams who are struggling in their group. Not only will it be embarrassing that one of the WC hosts couldn't make it past the group stages, (that's if they hadn't won today), it will give the other teams in their group the feeling that Canada is a weak team.
Good job by Jesse Marsh and his boys. Three points, plenty goals and a much needed clean sheet.
