I was surprised to see Cape Verde push Argentina so hard last night. Messi with a phenomenal goal, he is having such a great tournament. I do wonder how Argentina will cope when they play a top side, they haven’t been fully convincing.

It is expected that the game between Cape Verde and Argentina would be the talk of the town after a wonderful performance from the African team. Many would have thought that it was going to be an easy win for Argentina but that belief was cut short after Cape Verde took the game to an extra time, equalising twice after Argentina took the lead.

Cape Verde actually made Argentina fearful in this match because Argentina did not plan to play 120 minutes like this. They even almost were brought to penalty shootouts if Cape Verde scoring a third goal and this team came very closely to a third goal in very last minutes of the match.

I watch again and again the disappointed reaction of Messi after Cape Verde equalized 2 - 2 as perhaps he thought about penalty shootouts at that moment. Even Argentina are stronger than Cape Verde, with the excellent performance of Vozinha, if the match goes to penalty shootouts, surely many Argentina players will feel stressful and might miss their penalties. Cape Verde had nothing to lose while Argentina as a champion has a crown to lose and penalties will not be easy for them.

I was expecting a very high level match against Cape Verde, they have shown that they are truly a very strong and dominant team, at times much stronger than Argentina, i would have expected that it would end in penalties, instead Argentina was very lucky to win this match.

During the past few days, teams such as England and Belgium narrowly escaped being defeated by African teams. In both cases, the African teams intially lead the scoreline, but due to lack of experience, the European teams were able to pull through in the end. The Argentina vs Cape Verde match was a bit different. Argentina initially had the lead, and then Cape Verde scored the equalizer two times. All that said, teams from CAF performed exceptionally this time. And we still have Morocco and Egypt in the PQF stage. Morocco will be facing Canada in a few hours from now, and I hope they can qualify for the quarter-finals.

Funny how everyone sentenced Portugal and Ronaldo for a mediocre performance against Congo yet Argentina and Messi seem to be untouchable even though performed poorly against even a weaker team.

Sometimes controlling the game isn't enough and you can never win a game with control alone, you also have to attack and play, risk something and also try to move forward, Senegal played very well but then they gave up and they weren't determined to reach the goal, all that's needed is that, trying.

Canada vs Morocco will happen soon. I'm in the full hope to believe Morocco will win this. They drew against Brazil. They beat Scotland and Netherlands. So it fuels my confidence to see them secure this game. I also think it won't be going through penalty instead they will end it during the stoppage time.
1.74 for moneyline Morocco seems a solid choice. So i'll take it. Hopefully, they are not making dumb things during the game. So they can win the game comfortably because Canada is obviously far worsen than Brazil or Netherland.

I watched the highlights of the Colombia vs. Ghana match because the game took place at night in my country.
Colombia is a very good team.
They won the match 1–0 but missed a lot of scoring chances.
Their squad quality is excellent.
They are a team capable of reaching at least the semi-finals.
With Ghana's elimination, only Morocco and Egypt remain from Africa.
Morocco plays its Round of 16 match today; if they beat Canada, they will advance to the quarter-finals. Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi-finals in 2022. We shall see if they can surpass that achievement this year.

He has 7 goals in the World Cup so far and he is top scorer at the same time. Doing these things at the age of 39 is really unbelievable... He is competing players like Mbappe, Haaland, Kane and so on.

If Argentina stay in the tournament until the final then I think Messi can even finish it as top scorer as well. Argentina's side of the tree is much easier compared to the others.

Cape Verde's performance surprised everyone. The team played  amazingly. If it weren't for argentina, they  would probably have won the  match and qualified for the round  of 16.

I thought cape verde were playing a bit defensively. But they were able to  attack a lot. The team was able to make some strong counterattacks. They scored two goals against argentina's strong  defense. It wasn't easy at all. Also, Cabral's goal was  spectacular. It is  one of  the best goals of this world cup.

We saw some  weaknesses in argentina's defense and tactics. Argentina was also a bit lucky , no doubt. It wasn't easy to get past Cape Verde's strong defense and goalkeeper.

Messi is 39, but the level he still plays at amazes me. He is getting older but it doesn't show in his finishing and his ability to make an impact in big matches. You can praise Argentina all you want, but if a team like Cape Verde can put so much pressure on Argentina in today's match, then it becomes doubtful what Argentina will do in the upcoming matches. Argentina needs to be more careful. They have a tougher time ahead of them.

Cape Verde is a fighting team in this World Cup and any result from them was not unexpected. The team that poses a threat to Argentina is new but they played great. At one point I almost lost hope and bet on Argentina. Argentina will be the favorite in the next match against Egypt and I expect them to reach the semi-finals.

Canada may win today's match against Morocco and I can almost say for sure that France will win and it may not be difficult for a strong team like France to win the World Cup trophy.

I also did not expect that Cape Verde could provide a very strong resistance against Argentina, even though they are not good at controlling the ball and making the tempo of the game held by them but with fewer chances and fewer opportunities they are better at making attacks so often a serious threat to Argentina on several occasions unfortunately entered here only two goals.

Au want to see Morocco win the game while Brazil and Paraguay I will just watch as in general, maybe I if sleepy better sleep.

No one expected such a great performance from a new team like Cape Verde. Especially they played against Scaloni's argentina. Scaloni's tactics are very difficult to do well against. At the same time, Argentina's squad is also quite strong. Even so, Cape Verde fought hard and  managed to score two goals. Cape Verde's players scored  2 impressive goals against the world champion argentina. At the same time, we saw good performance from their defense and goalkeeper in every match. This match was no  exception. If the defense and goalkeeper's performance  were a little weak, Argentina would have won the  match easily.

Logically Morocco and France will beat Canada and Paraguay but surprise can happen in football and who know either Canada or Paraguay will succeed to beat Morocco or France today.

If Cape Verde could push Argentina very hard like yesterday, Canada and Paraguay can try their best and they can create enough challenge against Morocco and France. Then surprise has its chance to happen, and if surprise is a beauty of football, I hope to see at least one surprise today.

Will France have to stop there even they are very strong in attacks and are considered as one of best candidates for a World Cup 2026 trophy?

I’m glad someone is finally saying it! It is just selective criticism at its peak and most of these Ronaldo haters are Messi fanboys. Argentina should be glad that a Cape Verde player did an own goal and gave them their win because if that match had entered penalties, maybe we would have been talking about a different thing by now. I’m looking forward to watching their next match with Egypt though, if they play this same rubbish they did with Cape Verde in their next match, it’s gonna be bye bye 👋. In the betting market itself, bettors wishing to wager on a French win will not find odds higher than @1,20. Personally, I’m interested in betting on a draw after seeing how Cape Verde managed to hold out for a draw until FT.
