Morocco may be facing France in the quarter finals. If that happens, it is going to be a tough match. I’m not so keen on the narrative of putting Africa in a box like there are not different countries, especially when it refers to Morocco. They are a good team but haven’t exactly been pan-African in years so when you say things like they are making Africa proud, it begs the question whether the country (Morocco) shares that sentiment. 

I don't want morroco to meet France because France will removed them from the tournament. France will be strong for them if they meet that is why I wouldn't want morroco to play against France. Paraguay may not be a difficult opponent for morroco,I will prefer Paraguay to meet Morocco instead of France. However, France is pressing Paraguay and they have a good chance to score. If France score Paraguay it would be a problem for morroco because France will defeat Paraguay and meet Morocco in the next phase.

Morocco did very well today, I expected them to win the match and that was why I predicted them to win and I won some money through that prediction. Some people are actually looking down on Morocco forgetting that they are the best in Africa and they will surely go far in this World Cup and I believe they may even get to the final and win the trophy. What you have just said about Morocco are all true but there is a chance they won't make it far to the World Cup because if France beat Paraguay, they would likely face France in the quarter finals, and if that happens, Morocco might not pass the quarter finals.

Morocco already beat Canada by a landslide with three goals to nil, and the France-Paraguay match is still scoreless. However, if France were to face Morocco in their next match, I also think Morocco would have a hard time beating France, although it's not impossible in football. But this is the World Cup, and every national team will be striving to perform well to advance in the competition. France will certainly be preparing much harder to beat Morocco in this competition.

I was very impressed with the Morocco's performance and is the only Africa countries I like most, because no matter how they will still perform better at least. Morocco really played the full with an aims and objectives, Canada has tried thier best also. Although I know the Canada will lose the match against Morocco.

Now the France and Paraguay match are going hardly, the both countries are putting themselves a huge pressures,  so my favorite that will win this match is France. Can you imagine the possession different, football can be funny at times with thier unexpected results. But the France can win them easily when  they continue their performance. Now Second half has begin already.

I was impressed by the Moroccan teams performance, they seem like the only African side that may want to pose some threat to the other top European teams remaining in the competition.  But then Canada is not really a tough side, so I was not expecting much from them, I actually expected anything could happen and so we see that eventually Morocco was at it.

However France finally took a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute of the second half thanks to Mbappe's penalty, In my personal opinion since Paraguay had been playing with a very defensive strategy so far, they will have to be aggressive to equalize after conceding a goal. And whenever Paraguay tries to move up, France's fast forwards like Mbappe or Dembele will find space to counter attack. Since there are only about 15 minutes left in the match, Paraguay will have to go all out. So I think France can take this opportunity to score another goal from the counter attack. The match is most likely to end 2-0 in favor of France.

I am an Argentina fan as well, but this time I am in the under-dog side. Cape Verde showed an amazing performance that nobody was expecting it to be that strong and beautiful against one of the powerful teams in the world. I witnessed one of the greatest matches I have watch ever and I was waiting for luck to play its role in penalty kicks before Argentina scored the third goal at minutes 111. The world was astonishing last yesterday and I think Cape Verde should have to win if it was against another team from Europe or Africa. Congratulations to Messi's great team. They deserve a nice win.

I think that in penalties, Cape Verde would have a big advantage because their goalkeeper was playing too damn well and he was also extremely confident. We all know that Emiliano Martinez is amazing in penalties but I feel like he wasn't in shape (especially mentally) in this match.
Cape Verde really played an amazing match. Even though they lost, they really deserved win. A poor country with 500K population did unbelievable, keeping in mind that their players don't play in top teams.

It is really hard to believe that the first half of the Paraguay-France match ended in a 0-0 draw. The more interesting part is that France couldn't even dominate in the way they showed us normally.

Paraguay are really good with defending against much bigger teams so far. But I still don't expect another surprise against even the biggest title contender by bookmakers. I think France will still win in regular time.

I'm also in shock that it ended 0-0 and I'm a little bit shocked that they scored only one goal in 80 minutes (at least for now but there is 10 minutes ahead and France can score more, as well as Paraguay can score and we will see a different scenario). But I like that this match is going this way because yesterday I watched Argentina's match and if this match gets hard for France too, that will be good for me. I think that we might see Argentina VS France final again and I want Argentina to win.

Well, Morocco comfortably beat Canada, scoring 3 goals and conceding 0. With that, Morocco advanced to the next phase, but they will have to play against France, who also advanced thanks to beating Paraguay in a game where France only managed to score 1 goal, and that was a penalty. I believe that if France plays as badly as they did against Paraguay, then Morocco can beat them. I'll be rooting for Morocco to beat France and go as far as possible in this World Cup. All of Africa's hopes of going far rest on Morocco and Egypt.And today we have a great game, I'm talking about the Brazil vs. Norway game, for me this will be a very good game to watch.

Where did it land them? Paraguay showed so much respect to France by playing defensively. It gave France the opportunity to get a penalty kick that sent them through to the quarter finals.

The penalty scored by Kylian Mbappe made him equal on goals with Lionel Messi who has 7 goals.

France wins against Paraguay. I thought this would be this hard for France to beat Paraguay, but i'm wrong. Paraguy put any of their players behind the ball and fully defending anytime without any intention to attack.
It seems Paraguay game plan to bring the game to the penalty, but it doesn't work after Mbappe scored from a pen.

However, i'm wondering how shite reff gave France three yellows, but it's not even one yellow received by Paraguay players while Paraguay players were punching its rival directly. I think the reff is getting his bag here. This seems unfair.
Other than that it's also disappointed how Paraguay has poor football ethic. No shake hand with France after the game is proving it.

Unfortunately they will be meeting France in their next game because France has just defeated Paraguay and advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition. The match was interesting but in an amusing way 😂. There was a lot of rage baiting especially from France(mbappe specifically). Overall Paraguay’s defense was solid and maybe if they had calmed down and gotten their head in the game they could have gone the distance probably extra time or even penalties. But their aggression got the best of them and that’s what even led to the penalty that made them lose; I’m sure if they had the opportunity to throw hands with the France players they would have done so😆. Congrats to France though next opponent is Morocco and i know it’s gonna be a tough one, I’m sticking with my African brothers Morocco even though i know that France will definitely be the favorites on that day but hey I’m the type that likes the underdog story.

There was never a time they were going to score a goal against France not to talk of beating them, this possibly explains why they focused on antagonising the France players, I think this is a common phenomenon where if you can't beat a person in a fight, you atleast look for a way you can injure the person so that even if he ended up beating you with is likely, he or she will have to leave and live with the pain of the injury you gave him or her, and even when the injury is healed, the scare might remain depending on how deep the injury is or was..

This is clearly what those Paraguay players had in mind coming to the field to play against France, they know for sure that they can't beat France, but they can at least try to injure some of the players, and it's understandable why the ref is lenient to the matter, cus how many players is he going to send off the pitch?, how many times will he possibly raise the yellow card?

Paragry playing with super defensive press like their entire players were strongly focused on defensive driving and to be honest that why France was do little struggle but fortunately got lucky and got penalty for victory. However France were strongly committed towards the attack but unfortunately everytime their opportunity got rekt due to strong defensive approach of Paragry.

It worked perfectly for Paraguay unless you watched tue back of your TV.

You don't go all out to attack a such a great technical, pacy and destructive attacking side as the French. You'd be punished heavily if you do that. If not for the individual brilliance of Doue, France wouldn’t have won that Penalty. Not even Olise could create properly because they had a system that punished French best players from performing. Did you even see how they fvkced with Kylian Mbappe mentally?!

Even during the year when they won the FIFA World Cup ( 1998 ), they found it this difficult. It was the same individual brilliance or a player  and defender Laurent Blanc who gave them a winner. Congratulations to the French national team nonetheless.

France and Morocco will be one of the best possible quarter-final matchups. Paraguay showed their best defensive performance to get this far. I hadn't expected to make such an easy bet this morning, a friend told me France wouldn't suffer the same fate as Argentina, yet for some reason, I felt compelled to place a handicap bet on Paraguay with +2 goals advantage.



I didn't watch the match during the first half, but decided to tune in after seeing that it was still scoreless. +2 is a huge handicap, I don't understand why bookmakers would set such a handicap for a competition as big as the world cup. If there are any future matches with that kind of handicap, I will place a bet on the opposing side again. Thank you Paraguay!
