Many people say that this game felt like Egypt was playing against FIFA, not Argentina. The reason is that Egypt's second goal was disallowed because of bias. Also, there was a lot of hand use on the field, which the referee did not call a foul. However, Egypt played very well against Argentina. If Egypt had not slowed down towards the end of the game, new history would have been written by Egypt. But at the end of the day, Messi's Argentina won. So far, Messi has scored 8 goals in this World Cup and his name is coming first to win the title of top scorer. Also, there are many others in line, including Mbappe and Hooland, who have scored 7 goals each. Now let's see who can achieve this title.

Do not tell me that you don't know that Messi is a FIFA boy and that have been helping him even when he deserves a red card to cover his mistakes while pushing him closer to the final stage. Through out this 2026 world cup tournament, Argentina has been facing smaller team which has revealed the plan FIFA president has for Messi to help him win the world cup the second time.
Egypt has good players but the favoritism that is shown towards Argentina because of Messi is too obvious and absurd.

It's all the referee's manipulation. He repeatedly made unreasonable decisions against Egypt. Yes, I want to criticize the referee's decisions. The reasons were clear, most of the Argentine players pushed the Egyptian players. The referee failed to make a decision against Argentina after the Argentine players committed many fouls. Finally, I want to say that Egypt's goal tally would have been three if the referee had not made his wrong decision again. The referee was bad.

Your assumption could be right and it could be wrong, but I don't think it's the first time that most people wish Messi and Argentina were home from the World Cup. The referee can make mistakes during the game, but I don't really know why some people would expect Argentina to lose. Egypt are good as a team, especially on defense and counterattack, but Argentina are much better and patient until they find the right momentum to make a comeback. You're not the first to assume that, but thousands of other people have said the same thing, especially anyone who doesn't like Messi or Argentina.

I don’t know what happened to Egypt today, how will they even allow Argentina to equalize in the match, they were already winning, all what they were suppose to do in the match was just to defend the two goals which they had already, but they messed up. Argentina scored 3 goals towards the ending of the second half, how did Egypt even allow that happen? honestly it’s so annoying. I just hope African countries are going to perform better in the next World Cup, they had opportunities in this current World Cup, and they didn’t utilize it.

Well there are not the first, I don't if it's a flaw with some or should I say most of the African teams because it's really crazy to go two goals up and then still let all the goals slide by. It's just crazy men, when the time hit 80mins I was actually feeling certain that they might actually pull it off but that wasn't the case at all because they let everything slide by which is just absolutely crazy.

Yes, you are right and today's match reminds me of the last World Cup final match. Argentina was under a lot of pressure from the beginning, but they didn't lose hope until the last minute. Argentina changed the outcome of the entire match in just 14 minutes. Egypt's lead was noticeable at the beginning. As long as they guarded Messi tightly, Argentina's attack was weak. Egypt started playing a little bit, knowing that time was almost up, from a two-goal lead, which turned out to be their biggest mistake. Egypt thought that Argentina would not be able to use the time at the end due to the pressure given from the beginning. But they forgot that Argentina kept their cool and fought until the last minute.

Many people disagree about the disallowance of Egypt's goal. But in my opinion, Egypt committed a foul during Argentina's main attack, which caused their counter to be disallowed.

But I would say that Argentina won today largely due to luck. The last match and today's match were the strongest and most terrible matches for Argentina in this World Cup. So, if Argentina cannot learn the right lessons from these matches, they will face great danger in the future.

Again I think Messi is purposely missing penalties because of some football fans that won't  stop claiming he's favoured with penalties  and can't  have as many as possible goals without  penalties.

Dude, I see meaning in this your post, there is a possibility that Messi is doing that Intensionally  but  there is no prove to that and already I have seen a lot of people saying that FIFA is a total mess and that they want to favour Messi just like they said in the last world cup. Egypt made a big mistake for not defending their goals they were playing against the defending champions they ought to have learnt from the mistake of other African countries by defending when they were goals up but they allowed Argentina to score the first goal and it made them to attack them more making them to be under pressure before they scored the second goal before the extra time when they scored the winning goal. Egypt never believed that they were going to lose the game but they have lost following their inability to handle the pressure when they were winning by 2 goals.

In my opinion, England will have a very tough time beating Norway. Very few teams can keep Haaland under control. England has excellent players, but at the moment i think Norway has a slight edge, even if they're not the favorites. If Norway scores early, i don't think England will find it easy to come back.

Because if we look at the stats and figure then definitely we found only one man above all even right now he has more goal and more assist than others players at world cup history.

The game is one of the most interesting games. Argentina taking the lead was unexpected because by the time Egypt scored their second goal, it seemed very impossible for Argentina to equalize or even score 3 goals.

I never expected such a result from Argentina, and Egypt didn't think Argentina would come back in the game. After their second goal, Egypt was comfortable and just relaxed because they were not playing well, just like in the first half of the game. It was a bad loss for Egypt because it never seemed the game would end the way it did.

Yes even after losing to Argentina I will never stop congratulating Egypt's bravery and determination on that game. Before the start of that game know one believed Egypt could secure a goal talk more of leading till the 70th minutes before Argentina's late equaliser on that game.
Although after capitalising on Argentina's error to lead the game, i expected them to stand on there ground the same way they did at the beginning of the game but why they lost it all is what I can't tell till now.

This was probably the most competitive and exciting  match of the round of 16. Both teams played amazingly. I thought Egypt would play defensively and try to draw the match. But Egypt  secured a 2-0 lead in the 70th minute. Then Egypt would  lose this match in the 90th minute. After Egypt took a 2-0 lead, I thought argentina would lose the match 2-1 . But they scored 3 goals in the last  15 minutes. It was an incredible result. I have never seen such a great comeback from argentina in the past.

It was an incredible cashback. Argentina were 0-2 down until the 78th minute and the way they performed and the way Egypt's players handled everything, I had given up hope of Argentina winning. But Argentina played the last 20 minutes including the lost time and won 3-2, it was incredible. As an Argentina fan, I can't express how much I loved this. I became a new and deeper fan of Argentina, especially Messi.

Brazil lost and Neymar left, while another hero Ronaldo couldn't win Portugal in the last 16. But Messi managed to win Argentina. He is truly a true hero. My favorite players are Messi and Haaland. Both of them reached the quarterfinals with their teams. It's really a joy for me. Congratulations for Argentina

Incredible end to the Argentina vs Egypt game, how does Messi keep doing it?

I actually wanted Egypt to win, especially when they had a 2nd goal ruled out by VAR for literally nothing. Messi was there when Argentina needed him most, sign of a really top team and maybe potential champion, to come back when everything is against them.

Am a Messi fan and inasmuch as his last minute performance was not short of superb, the fact still remain that Argentina performance was disastrous and it was irritating to watch. How can a mature team like Argentina still depend entirely on Messi for there creativity. If they continue with this there performance am not sure they will even make it to the semi finals.

Egypt really deserved this win and I still don't understand why that Salah's foul was not called which led to Argentina's third goal.

The officiating was bad honestly Egypt goal was disallowed because they never wanted Egypt to qualify M. Salah was also brought down but the ref acted like nothing happened and Argentina use it to score there winning goal. Egypt perform very well but they couldn't hold it till full time i just wish they eliminated Argentina they really deserve to win because they played well despite they were more on there defence line but their attack was sharp, I never like how this ref officiate when an African team is playing.

If he hadn't missed two penalties, Messi's goal tally would have been 10. The way he is performing  at the age of  39 is truly commendable. I thought I would see such a performance from ronaldo. Because he played quite well in the Saudi league last season. But Ronaldo has disappointed the fans. On the other hand, Messi is still  moving forward. It seems  that no one can stop him. The old Messi is in great form. I wouldn't be surprised if Messi is the top  scorer of the world cup this time. Although Mbappe is also performing great.
