Following France’s clear 2-0 victory over Morocco, I am now almost certain that France will go straight through to the final of this World Cup.
In my view, they are currently the strongest national team, made up of some outstanding players.
I reckon the final will be France versus Argentina once again, and this time it will be a rematch.

After seeing Morocco which usually has the strength to put pressure on its opponents look weak against France, well, I started thinking the same way. But personally, I still see Spain as a team on par with France in terms of strength. So I’m not entirely convinced yet, even though I also see that, based on their greatest potential, it’s France that will make it to the final.

But when it comes to Argentina, I’m a bit skeptical. In their last few matches, I felt they weren’t as strong as expected. they struggled to win against Cape Verde, and the same thing happened when they faced Egypt. So I’m no longer pinning my hopes on Argentina. I actually think Norway has a better chance of making it to the final but only if they can handle the pressure in the quarterfinals, which will be different from the previous rounds.

Football changed a lot recent years from water breaks, more substitutions in each match, increasing from 3 substitutions to 5 substitutions, and the use of VAR. Many things changed and I really don't like them and I remember that time breaks for cooling down, water drinking was firstly applied in World Cup 2014 in Brazil. The reason for that is temperatures there were very high during that tournament and I agree with that but if in other situations, if temperatures are not too high, water breaks are not actually necessary but can change the match a lot.

A team that are attacking, controlling the match and creating a lot of pressure on opponent will lose effects that possibly force their opponent making mistakes in defense, then after water break they will have to almost restart from scratch.

That's true. See the crazy rules that are being implemented now, like using VAR to check if a corner is a actually a corner, awarding a throw in to the opponent team if the other side takes too long, all these are slowly killing the game and making football more of a commercial use more than for the entertainment.

It was a fully deserved win for France as they played a very one-sided football. Morocco had better be just thankful for their goalkeeper Bono...

He saved a ton of more potential goals.    They were really disappointing as a team by the way. Of course it's not easy to deal with the biggest favourite. But Morocco also had decent players to create some chances normally...

France won because they deserved to win, they were the better team with the better players, it's good that Morocco was able to go this far the the world cup, it would have even been better if an African team was able to go even further than this but we can't push for that anymore, they played well against France, not as good as they could have but well enough regardless. France is in a good place to win the his world cup.

I never expected no change in football cause it bound to happen, everything is now advance and we'll still witness more changes and policies in the future but the problem is cheating and being honest to favour a particular team, I believe that the new policies should favour all teams and not some.

 The VAR controversy is becoming something else, when it first came out I was happy that there would be reviews of fouls and stuff which would help stop referees controversy or poor decision making but it seems the VAR is now being used as a tool to cheat and favour some teams, they're gradually ruining the sports.

Agreed. I predicted this a few weeks ago after Germany was kicked out. I think this time France is bound to win because Messi is not the same as he was four years ago, and there are no players in the Argentina squad who can equal him, while France has top-notch players like Dembele and is more evenly matched in terms of talent.

I’m not sure Norway can make it to the final; they certainly have the potential to do so, but they must first beat England, who are very strong, and then, in the semi-final, they would have to beat either Belgium or Argentina.
So they would face a much tougher path to the final, but anything is possible and I wish them well.
However, as things stand, I think a France v Argentina final is more likely.

The difference in quality was too different in this match because France played to win while Morocco played only to maximize the penalty shootout which was precisely the beginning of Morocco's mistakes that played boring in the first half.

This may be understandable as Morocco know their chances against France are smaller but with them defending in the end this did not have any impact.
Bonou performed exceptionally in this match as there were at least 3 brilliant saves and 1 save when thwarting a penalty but in the end this was not enough to take Morocco to the next phase due to their passive play.

France is dominant and indeed this is what they always pay attention to and now they are ready to wait for who will fight them next, My hope is Spain because if Francis's semi-final against Spain is certainly a thing that is quite worth watching.

The victory over Morocco was one of the big tasks for France which finally they still beat back the team from the African country in the quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals which will await the matches of Spain and Belgium, my view is that Spain is likely to qualify and the big note here is that Spain also cannot be underestimated because it has a good squad too, this is a more difficult task than ever for France.

While Argentina really look very easy way between Argentina's opponents and who might manage to meet them in terms of strength is not more than Spain and France so they are certainly able to reach the final but for France is not necessarily because it has to face Spain.

They are the best team for now. Imagine playing against a tough side like Morocco and still registering twenty shots, and nine were on target. The African side was totally outclassed, so we hardly saw them attack as they used to do. Since both Argentina and France are on opposite sides of the knockout bracket, both of them might end up meeting in the finals. But I hope Switzerland surprises the defending champions. Argentina have met some of the average teams and have also struggled to win these games. However, in a final between France and Argentina. the former will beat the defending champions.

Yes, there's no doubt at all, because right now they are going to play the Semi-final, which isn't far from the final. France was already the favorite in this World Cup tournament, and they are still doing the needful. Of course, it would definitely be other way around if it happens again, because right now France National team are more preferable to Argentina's team. But let's see if Argentina's team will be able to make it through the Semi-final.

I'm very objective about VAR now than before because without it FIFA could have been solving and visiting so many complaints all the time because people are very difficult to accept the truth so even if a goal was properly scored without any form of offside a lot of fans would be saying and speculating how the referee wanted to see that the country in his mind wins there opponent, already you are seeing how some of the world Cup match has been and even with VAR we still feel some games wasn't as fair as it should have been so we could imagine how it would have been without it, so actually even if it wasn't what everybody would agree to be attached in football but we cannot entirely scratch out some important things it has done.

I think the chances of seeing the same two teams meet in the final two tournaments in a row are quite low. In fact, I'm not even very confident that Argentina will beat Switzerland, I think there's a real possibility of a major upset in the quarterfinals.

Argentina have already shown several times during this World Cup that they're not as strong as many people expected. Switzerland, on the other hand, look very impressive right now and are playing excellent attacking football. So if they can score a couple of goals against Argentina while defending better than Egypt did, I think they have a very realistic chance of knocking Argentina out.

I hope you know that there is a reason why the VAR is there and this is to resolve issues that may make fans of supporters to feel bias. It is the duty of the referee to check the VAR whenever there is a complaint from players or fans. That is the duty of the referees, they need to show us the clarity and stop acting foolish and favouring their own corrupt players. The injustice need to stop but I know that FIFA will not do anything about that. They needed to position there own team to reach the final stage of this tournament.

My heart tells me that both Morocco and Norway will win their QF matches and make it to the semifinals. But brain says the opposite. France is an extremely strong team. I have watched only one or two of their matches in this tournament, but they were brutal in those games. On the other hand, England looked a bit more shaky for me. If Norway can defeat England, it will be like a dream. Remember that they had failed to qualify for the 2022 edition. Before 2026, the last time they had qualified was in 1998. Back then, they were led by Frode Grodås, and managed to enter the round of 16. They managed to defeat Brazil by a margin of 2-1 then, with Tore André Flo and Kjetil Rekdal scoring the goals. This time also they managed to defeat Brazil by the same margin (but in Round of 16).

I believe that there is a misunderstanding in all of this, the strongest teams are seen as the ones to beat, in reality they are the ones that in the end offer the most spectacle, in fact France is the one that together with Argetina gave such a beautiful final that hasn't been seen for a long time, the level was extreme.

Not only France will go through the final round of the World Cup they are also capable of winning the trophy, with what France has been doing in the tournament currently they are the best and they are the favourite to win the trophy, their are other countries that are also doing well such as Spain, Belgium, England and Argentina but if you watch France and how they dominate the game and win it they are different from other teams, they have good attackers that can score goals and also create chances.

I know that they still have a long way to go but qualified to a semi final is not a small achievement, France is about to play a World Cup final in three times in a row, if that happen and they win the World Cup then Mbape deserve the Ballon Dior because he has been the one who is carrying France, although the team performance is the one to admire but what Mbape is doing for his country is on another level.

I think Spain should beat Belgium today just as comfortably as France beat Morocco yesterday. That would set up a great semifinal, where I expect France to come out on top because I like both their squad and their current style of play more. On the other hand, Spain are on a very long unbeaten run and have been outstanding defensively. So I expect it to be a very tough semifinal, and in my opinion, both teams deserve to be in the final.
