Yes, it's true, Altcoins can also be risky, but what makes that risk is if we hold the wrong altcoins or are often called trash Altcoins.
What causes many people to be interested in Altcoins is because holding Altcoins can give someone multiple benefits, by having little capital you can invest in Altcoins. that's why myself and most other people are interested in holding Altcoins and saving them until they can make a real profit.

Many people invest in altcoins because it also offers good profits and can be profitable in the short term. Especially new altcoin projects, they all have low initial prices and can be invested cheaply to earn returns.

Well, the truth is that there is huge money in altcoins, not to mention any projects but certainly there is.

Well those who buy altcoin at first because it's easily 10x in just a few months compared to Bitcoin which can't do 10x easily due to its big market cap. To be honest my reason is the same as you but I don't invest in just a mere project just because they offer me a big ROI, we should keep doing some research before we invest in an altcoin project. Right now many potential altcoins can pump 100x in the next bull run because their low marketcap and it's easier to do the pumping.

The same reason why people gamble knowing fully well that gambling is a win for the casino and never the player.

The human nature to have greed run their function is common and this is why gambling industry works and also why rugpulls and shitcoins run well. I not implying that every altcoin is a scam, but most of the newly launched ones are going to be such in a couple of years or less.

Making money from altcoin and making money from bitcoin, I would always go with the second one because that carries less anxiety and less loss of sleep. As a trader you need to limit the pressure you put on yourself to stay healthy and trade.

altcoin is an alternative coin besides btc and eth which already has a relatively high purchase value for beginners,
the main reason owning/buying altcoins can provide quick profits  because of the hype or fomo, but to get it you need research so that you get a potential coin for the long term, if for the short term just buy a meme selling coin while fomo can provide maximum profit in my opinion

I don't really agree with the statement, that Bitcoin is only for a longterm investment and i also strongly disagree that altcoins are only good for a short term investment strategy. Yes it is true, that you can generate higher profits while daytrading altcoins because the price fluctuations of altcoin projects are usually significantly higher than the fluctuation of altcoin.
It is also true though, that there are already dozens of very good and strong altcoin projects out there that should still do very well in the next 5 or 10 years and that are very much suitable for a longterm hold. I think that many of those altcoin projects have a higher grow potential than Bitcoin but of course the risk is also higher here to pick the wrong project.

They are interested to invest in altcoins because of the possibility to get big profit just like you said, although if you wait patient enough you could get the same result with Bitcoin but in longer span of time.
Either they have done the research or not is different story but most of the people I know are looking for profit only. But when the price is down, then they start blaming on everything.

The prospect of big earnings lures most investors into the altcoin sphere. Bitcoin is a blue chip, it is reliable as an investment, but it has already grown too much to attract young investors with a small amount.

Even me that I am an old Bitcoin hodler I think that it has potential in for a longer term like 5-7 years max in my opinion while other coins,especially new ones like EthereumPoW,EthereumFair,Zilliqa,Raptoreum and a couple of others have a much better potential to grow in price in a lower time-frame than 5-7 years which is a lot.That is why a lot of people are attracted to altcoins as they think to make a huge amount of money with very little one,this happens very rarely and as the best example I want to point out that guy that bought a lot of Shiba INU in August 2020 and when in 2021 this coin reach a much better price he won an insane amount of money,of course people like him can be counted with just the fingers of one hand.

Actually, the reason is very clear. People want to make money quickly and easily. That's why they turn to altcoins and often shitcoins. I must admit that sometimes I act with such thoughts and turn to some altcoins. No altcoin can replace the top spot of bitcoin, if you want to be safe, then obviously, bitcoin is a perfect choice. But in terms of profit, altcoins are likely to give higher returns than bitcoin, ETH is the biggest altcoin, it can't compete with bitcoin in terms of position, but its return is bigger than bitcoin. During the 2021 bull season, if anyone has invested in ETH, it will give a higher ROI than BTC and in the next bull season, I am pretty sure that ETH will continue to yield higher returns than BTC.

At times the altcoin investments used to give high return than bitcoin. Apart from this it is the ease of investing as a whole. Everyone weren't able to invest on bitcoin as a whole. With altcoins this is possible. Same as bullish season of bitcoin there is altcoin season by which we can expect big bounce in the price. Whether it is bitcoin or altcoins, it is the right entry and exit point that makes the investment more interesting and profiting.
