I think it's because more profits. I got 200 Solana from airdrop. After 6 months SOL price was near 200$ somehow. So basically I got 40000$ easily. but I sold it when it's around 80-85$. As my experience alts are good for make short term profits. But it's too risky.

If you get lucky and invest in the right coin, you'll get a lot of profit in just a couple of months. It is more risky with a higher return. Also, most of the project won't last a few years as developers and owners will abandon it or it will just die. Altcoin also has a lot of scams, which are more risky, so you need to check the background of the owner and team behind it.

I agree that altcoins if chosen the good ones and kept for longer will make a person more money than Bitcoin because altcoins are easier to make or to get,either by mining like ZIL,ETHW,ETHF,RTM,DOGE and LTC to name the most well known one from mining but you can also buy them like Baby Doge,Shiba Inu which I think in the longer term will make a lot of people,or better the only people that hold them enough massively rich and I personally also own 30 million Shiba Inu which if they go to just 1 cent I will be having 300.000 dollars and this for me is enough reason to be interested in altcoins and try to add more and more to my portfolio so when the next bull run comes I will see some really great profit.

you are correct there is a huge money talks influencer culture that is cancerous in crypto.
I feel like it used to be less so in the past something really changed in the last Bullrun, all twitter accounts that mention a project are basically paid in the back end, very few are legit doing it because they like the crypto project.

going up fast and down very fast too, altcoins like that are just altcoins used for pump and dump then they will disappear and be abandoned. A lot of meme coins have been hype with very fast returns but then rugpull. Instead of expecting ROI, the project just gets abandoned and dies slowly. The risk of altcoins like that is indeed very high, out of 100% who join, maybe only about 20% can succeed and make a profit. If you really want to get into altcoins, it's better to enter the top altcoins, but if you want to try a higher risk with big profits, a new project that is currently hype might be an option, but at your own risk.

It can make you rich overnight as well as go homeless in the same night. With altcoin investment the ROI is quite high than bitcoin at times. This doesn't work all the time as well as it works with specific altcoins. Here we need to be lucky or esle we should have the mind to keep on adding more and more different altcoins to our portfolio.

Always people want to have a diversified portfolio than holding bitcoin. Same as bitcoin, the top altcoins on the market can be trusted, but things like FTX could happen which is the riskier part.

Possible but it's not easy as you think. There are many wonderful stories about people who invested on certain altcoins and got rich overnight. Those are fairy stories which is accommodated by a ton of luck. Those who tried doing this kind of fairy tail and risking all the way are mostly didn't succeed knowing the risk they put their money into. Of course you the token involved in this insanely high gains overnight is sh*tcoins which involved a lot of risk having it given that there could be a high chance that it will not rise in value. Not everybody has altcoin just because of this reason, There are some who are long term on certain altcoins which is safer than risking it on sh*tcoins.

The altcoins are my main area of market speculation because I've made enough money from them, such as when I bagged them sooner than their bull season. Your opinion is almost the same as mine, I am interested in altcoins because the price is low, in 2018 I bought ETH and sold it in 2020, then I also invested in Dogecoin, but I sold it too fast and failed to get high profits when ATH was reached.

bitcoin will never make 2-5x in few month, but altcoin can make it in only 1 month.

Remember theory is only relative when we go into practice. I could make tons of profitable altcoins that only I could see,
but they were short-term deposits or later used to accumulate more BTC.
Anyway, I prefer BTC over altcoins in my portfolio, but the utilities or features needed to move the altcoin market are working.
