what is happening if there are several players with same surname, and players didn't put first name in spreadsheet

for example, I am playing mitchr4, and he has Williams, but there is two Williams in fourth part of the draw
is it counted as better ranked, or participants should send which player it is before one of them gets out

That's something we hoped wouldn't happen but yes - considering it's a question regarding snooker which is not that known to the most of us, we'll take the higher ranked player (in this case Mark Williams).

I thought the same thing when I saw Robertson since there are 2 Robertson. Neil Robertson (He's out of the tournament now) and Jimmy Robertson who will be playing today.

It is important that everyone writes correctly so there is no misunderstanding 😁

There is no way to verify this unless Mitchr4 comes out and states his preference; until then, he has the right to select whichever of the two Williams finishes well. Is it impossible to get Mitchr4's attention in order to avoid unnecessary agurment?

Shelby is doing pretty well at the moment. Already won this round and qualified for Round 16.

I'm sorry I didn't know about 2 williams there. In that sport I choose players who are in high rank. So my choice from the start was Mark J Williams from Wales.

Well, that was expected, wasn't it? I mean he is number 5 in the ranking and he was up against Duffy who is 88. Now he is going against a better player from Hamilton (36.) and Heathcote (101.). Nope, unfortunately not. mitchr4 made his choice, but there are probably more players with the same issue.
There's no way for us to go through all submissions and recheck if the names are written how they should be and ask for additional clarifications - therefore the decision is that we'll select the player with higher ranking across the whole competition.

We definitely can't let people decide who they have picked after deadline. We can only make some general rule like this which seems most fair for situation at hand. I even wrote template in a way to warn you about same name players. Did you all think I only used name for Ronnie just cause of fun

So VAR is a thing here...thought picking the wrong player in spite of a technical knockout was part of the game

Get with the programme, guys =p It's been a thing for a few rounds now and I think it's pretty fair, having used it myself now. Ideally, everyone wants to wait until the last possible moment to get every advantage possible and normally, it is 7pm for me, easy. But for about 5 weeks I was in Asia where the deadline is 1am -- I think it's nice some people can submit at 6pm with some ease of mind but still be able to make changes with last-minute news.

You might not have gotten the news, but I didn't get news either not until after the deal and Neil Robertson game had began, whoever their next opponent was supposed to be withdrew already so that could really increased his chances had he won the qualifying round.

But what does it matter now that we both have him, right ? If my memory serves me right we have only one different player in that H2H, mine being K. Wilson, I don't remember who yours was actually.

When I was typing my answers, first I thought that full name is needed, but the noticed that surname is enough. Probaly it would be best to require write full name in such kind of questions to avoid possible confusion. It doesn't applies to tennis for example as there is no players at top level with same surname.

Well nothing really surprising there and I kinda expected alot more will choose the draw options on Rangers - PSV but turned out that there were only 6 players ( technically 8 if you count those that submitted late ) but what really surprises me is that currently the score between Maccabi - Young Boys is still 0-0

This is a rare circumstances that happened because its the first time for Snookers question to appear on BSFL. On top of that I didnt even notice that there were some top snookers players that actually have similar names but I guess most of us are picking those on the top 20 list or something so it shouldnt actually be that confusing

I really couldn't have seen that from a millimeter away, because damn, Young Boys are not the team win with their opponent not scoring so 0-1 was never an option and in this kind questions, I always prefer to have a multiple chance 4+ was my choice, and even If the hands of time were turn back, I wouldn't have changed my mind, however the other 2 qualifier games which were supposed to a lower amount of goals scored had the most, 3 and 5 goals eventually.

Same, I thought we'd see a low or high-scoring match because it's only the first leg, and somehow, it ended with no goals.

This was one very boring match and I saw only a few shots on goal, as if they are not interested or they played some friendly match and not Champions League  
I cant wait until qualifications are finished and real Champions League starts, maybe another chance for members to join new pool.

It's a good strategy especially for outright bets and sport you not familiar with but it goes a little deeper than just putting in the lowest betting odds in this case because there is a draw and it will be off no good, your players are going to be facing each other before the semi finals, so you need to check the draws table first and then use then select the best odds for each bracket that might not face any other of your picks before the semi-finals.

I really was expecting a Messi goal or assist, but the clause Inter Miami to not lose at regular time is what I went against, Hence why I chose No as my answer, It's missed emotions for me, seeing Messi carrying Inter Miami is a good sight for me, but Buwaytress having the dying minutes edge on me something that make me feel utterly unlucky lol, but there's a more than a kilometre to go and our answers are no where close to each other on a lot of questions, so we'll see!

Super entertaining match and as you say twitter is burning with this one. There was a couple of people super happy in 89th minute and daring Miami and Messi to do something. After they did just that, you just know all those tweets would get ridiculed.

Really happy when we include such entertaining fixtures in our questions. This one delivered but Maccabi and Young Boys disappointed big time.
