I’ve tried asking Chat GPT before to help me predict an outcome for BSFL when I have very little knowledge about a sport.

I think it was tennis, any way it predicted somebody to win the tournament who wasn’t even playing in it so yeah, don’t use it for BSFL

I used them about once or twice during the friendlies before the BSFL season began, I didn’t really get what I wanted and since BSFL resumed, I’ve not used it again. So far the BSFL season began, no points have been lost and only in this round do I feel a bit more sceptical with my answers, they’re unfamiliar sports to me but I feel I’ve picked the once I think will prevail. What a tough round, will accept any result anyways.

You know we were asking about men's volleyball here? Watched a couple of sets yesterday and Finland really played well in crucial moments. Would never have done it if there was anything else on TV but DOTA ended up earlier and football isn't starting until tonight.

I have 3 matches to be a Draw, If none of them should be a draw, then I’m pretty screwed on both fronts, since that’s going to be very needed for LMS too. I’d say at least one of them should be an easy draw.

You're giving the same answer as my current opponent, I have no idea where you all get the idea for those draws. I analyze & then select my answer based on market odds, if you look at those odds, you’ll find that the probability of a draw is the lowest, not just in 1 match, but across all 3 matches. Good luck with those answers of yours, LOL.

I wasn't looking at it from an individual match up stand point, and I really don't know how best to explain it in a complete layman's language, but I'll try; so, in the Spain vs England and Netherlands vs Germany match up, both teams can barely be separated which means it could go either way, right ? and Italy on the other against Belgium is better favorite than any of the other match up but going by the odds you shared that should still put the chances of Draw happening in the Italy match at around more than 25%, and that of the first two slightly higher.

So, it's now more from an estimated guess for me that if each of the matchups has a 25% chance of being a draw, what is the chance of at least one of them being a draw, that should definitely put me closer to 60%, not because it's guaranteed, though. I would have a higher probability score if I went with the favorites, but in this case, I'm leaning on the draw because the said favorites are only favorites by the bookies odds (I don't know if that makes since the odds is with what I drew my initial conclusion), also I would have had higher probability if decided to go for all the underdogs too.

Just saw that my opponent failed to submit while trying to compare answers. Not the way we would want to get pur first win but with the form we are in now, we'll take it with pleasure. Gives us sometime to get our act together in the league and also study the international games with little pressure. They should dominate the questions for the next 2 weeks.

Now you have an edge in EuroVolley question, I chose Italy & Germany, but both teams failed to reach the semi-finals with this result:
• Poland 3 - 0 Germany
• Italy 2 - 3 Finland

Next, regarding the Billie Jean King Cup as well, I’m not sure if I saw this correctly, but the teams advancing to the final are Spain & Czech Republic. I just hope there aren't too many draws in the Nations League matches, so that the outcome doesn't fall short of your expectations.

Finally a good start of one round for me.
Netherlands managed to score a goal against Germany in stoppage time, and that draw is just what I needed as final result.

I tried using AI for help with some BSFL questions and sport events I dont know very well, and I was not so happy with the results I got.
Sometimes it gave me totally wrong information, and I had to waste time correcting it.
It can be helpful with some things but I would not trust predictions it makes.

Yeah I feel this, I've used ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot too for some BSFL questions, but honestly the output is not really good when it comes to tennis and esports. My theory is with one small mistake or a single bad game can snowball fast and the whole thing just flops, momentum shifts so quick. Football, NFL, basketball I'd rather just judge myself based on team composition, you can actually see the depth and patterns clearly, you can use AI too for complete research.

So yeah agree AI can help fill some gaps but definitely wouldn't trust it blindly for predictions, especially not on the more chaotic sports.
