As expected (or as I did anyway), Leclerc didn't have staying power (or Ferrari doesn't I suppose) but he still made points. My last-minute decision to put Tsunoda back in 10th backfired, had I kept in Leclerc instead, probably at least another point to get 16.

Is it just me or F1 getting more and more boring and the as you said, choosing favorites usually pays off. Due to this strict budget constraint, directives have been given from the teams to the drivers, they are racing almost without taking any risks, especially on the street tracks. If Max and Checo had started the race with the same tire strategy, today's winner would most likely have been Checo though. Because it took a lot of wear on Max's tires to climb. He stayed in the air corridor many times. It would be to keep a stable and adequate pace in the fresh air until the lap laps for Checo and to pit at the right time to maintain the advantage and the difference. Just like in Baku.

Got my first yellow cap with only the fifth race of the season.
So I am surprised because the user with the name of Lemmings could of had the share of it. They had to only put their predictions in before qualifying, for those two extra early bird points which would of brought them up to the amount I had by the end of the race.
So got over that bump of getting that first cap.

Congratulations for the yellow cap. You deserved it. EBP points are definitely very important especially if we think that the two Red Bull drivers are dominating the season. The important thing this season is to predict the 3rd place. I thought Leclerc would be on podium as I thought it would be rainy. However Ferrari were very bad as a team.

Verstappen yesterday only pit, because you have to do at least one pit stop by the rules. But also one pit stop its really low, and now that its the normal.

Pit stops and strategy are one of the most beautifull parts of the F1 without them its also more easy for a dominant car to win.

Congratulations @rdbase on winning the yellow cap in the pool for this round. You deserve the best. I also managed to climb seven places and I hope to continue achieving more good results. However, it seems that getting it in the long run is almost impossible.

I have been hearing about some changes to be made by FIA in the future. But I haven't heard anything about tyre strategies yet. Instead FIA have some plans to reduce the weight of cars by making them smaller at the same time. They are aiming to make races more watchable than ever as we would see many more overtakes in number.

I believe that this is one of the positive steps they can take for the sake of Formula 1. However this means that Red Bull drivers can overtake others even easier than before also. 

But even if they dominate the sport at least races can get more enjoyable to watch for us.

And why not get the Q2 fastest lap tire rule back again.  It adds for some interesting tire strategies during quali in anticipation for the start of the race.

Not really...  It makes for a boring season.  I haven't really paid a lot of attention for F1 as I know it's gonna be another year for Red Bull.  What F1 needs is a tough rivalry just like the one we had during 2021 between Verstappen and Hamilton.  It brings some spice.  Overtakes won't matter if we already know it's another easy win for RBR imho.

Nice to hear that, because we need it, Imola can be really boring circuit without some chaos, in this case rain can make the chaos part.

It really looks like we are going to have a rainy race weekend this time. There was a probability for the Miami GP as well but it dried up earlier. This time I wonder if we can see a race under rain. Rain can make races much more interesting most of the time. Just remember the Singapore GP last season. Verstappen had really big struggles despite dominating the season normally.

Maybe he can have problems in this race as well which can make the race more competitive than we expect. Perez might see a big opportunity to win another race in that case.

Thanks for the next chance to win, Imola is very hard to judge, it's very hard to overtake, last year RedBull were dominant, Ferrari were second and fourth on the grid but can they repeat, so far I've overestimated Ferrari and Ferrari have been consistently disappointing, maybe they can turn it around and I'm going to guess about unconventionally at your freebet.

Ooh, another race and another prediction contest. I'm probably going to play it safe with the pool predictions, but for the freebet picks, I'm taking Perez on for a win, even if Verstappen will take pole, I'll even give him the fastest lap.

Rain, no rain, all the drivers seem able to take it on well, Googling tells me Hamilton is the best in wet conditions -- biggest percentage of his wins have come in rain, but I suspect it's going to be car/tyre that has the final say (as usual).

It is really sad to hear about this but I also agree that it is the right decision. There is flooding in the region and it looks like it will take them a long time to prepare the track for the race. Besides even if they deal with the current problems there it is said that there is still a risk of downpours in the region later.

The Imola GP can still take place later in the season but now we are just going to continue with the Monaco GP which is in a week also. We even have two weeks full of race weekends ahead of us. Right after Monaco we are going to Spain. Hopefully we don't get such news from Monaco also thinking of a race under heavy rain there recently.

It was definitely the right decision to cancel the race, the Grand Prix could only have gone ahead with a lot of effort and helpers, but the helpers are needed elsewhere more urgently, so it was understandable, even if the teams have not yet arrived in full, that the cancellation was made in time.

agree, it is a right decision, probably only viable decision at the moment
you can't have race, when people are endangered by floods, and cannot live normal

not sure if it will be possible to have on later date, or season will end-up without this race? nevertheless, let's first see flood situation resolved, and race will have to wait
