Raining all night and showers in the morning here. Don't know if that stays on the tracks but it will not at all be hot.

Toke it matters. You can't change your picks if you want those EB points.

Belgium was first time that I missed EB points, and only yellow cap this season for me
maybe there is something in that missing of EB points, it could be back through podium bonus, which is much easier to settle if you know qualification results
and getting all points for podium with bonus is better than just winning Max at first position, since that is what everyone is putting lately

didn't do that this time, but thought about that for following races

Let's see how I end up.

It's 3 missed points, which feels like a lot, to catch up you need to get 2 podiums right, so the advantage lies in picking out the rest of the finishers -- but I couldn't really tell so in this round I simply assumed most of the grid stay in points, with some overtaking.

Looks like I was horribly wrong... and another DNF for Leclerc.

Maybe you can gain back 1 or 2 points tomorrow by knowing qualifying result already.
For example, no one expected Albon, he qualified at posititon number 4 today and Williams seems to be very strong here. Sargeant had a crash unfortunately but he still qualified Top 10 for tomorrow.
Or podium positions like suggested by casperBGD.

I did indeed put Albon in 8th, and both Brits on podium, hoping their performance in Q continues and their cars don't let them down! They let me down lap 55 now and out of sight.

Same thing happened to me, at least I managed to submit on time for the actual race placement.
In this pool it's especially punishing when you don't submit and it has happened to me too often already.

Still - I managed to win 2 of jeremypwr's race contests so I already got most of my money's worth - now I can finish last in the pool with no regrets

Yeah, I did remember F1 needs before qualifying. 2 points guaranteed and with Max's domination, pole adds to 3, it's a mountain to climb. You're right about all these prediction contests. Play them all, win once or twice and it's money returned at worst. I do have a hard time remembering them!

What kind of pussies are the race control of FIA.How come you can stop the race in the best possible moment of the race where a lot of aqua planning was happening,it was an error of most teams to go for the intermediate tires when heavy rain was coming,they should have left the race go through as Verstappen asked why did they throw the red flag,they,FIA race control are making even more boring what is a real boring season,this race was interesting exactly because of the rain which came and changed everything around.I lost even more points now as I had Perez second while the Redbull team for the first time made a worst mistake,they call him in the pits just 1 second before the red flag.

Quite the race and we are not over! I do expect the race to resume and give us the last 5 laps on circuit but Max cannot lose the race no matter what. At least this race wasn't as much as boring as the last ones and if we could have rain on all race at least for a couple of laps , that would bring a lot more hype around the race itself.

I can't hold myself to applause the crowd of Zandvoort as they really know how to put a show and also have fun no matter what weather is around the track.

I agree with you about that. FIA should let the drivers race under this kind of a rain. As long as there isn't a situation like the track is flooded I think it is drivable. Verstappen was able to finish a lap under heavy rain with wet tyres. There are only 8 laps left for the end of the race. I think they could have finished the race under these conditions.

We still don't know when the race will restart. By the way the third place was given back to Perez. He is lucky to be in this situation now after going out of the track and losing a few places. Gasly and Albon are doing a pretty good work today too.

Agree FIA needs to change his policies, i know the safety first its ok, but now they are so much afraid about everything, its a danger sport everyone knows this.

About the rain itself i read some articles where they showed they are having a very bad problem with the new desing of the cars who felt so much water to the rear so the driver behind cant see anything.

This race was really fun with all this entries on the box and change of the tyres, sad to ended not so good in terms of fun. Asides of this i repeat what i said early, clearly Perez car its not the same as Verstappen, do you see how Verstappen cut the distance between them with Inters? I know MV its a way better driver,but cutting 2 seconds per lap in a short circuit? Really?

I dont really know man, i want also to see some real action for the winner of the race, but seems like impossible this year. For worst im gonna repeat what i said early, if you see anyone can battle against the Perez RedBull or at least be near him, but when we talk about the Max Verstappen Red Bull nobody has a chance, its like a F1 against a F2 car.

Congrats to this week yellow cap winner,in this week and race it becomes much more valuable when you get the yellow cap at a chaotic race like this one.Luck of course when a lot of things happen during the race plays the most important part but anyway the one who got 13 points deserve only kudos to him.

I thought to lose a lot of places but in fact I have not lost a single place even if the ranking says I have lost 1 place,I am still at equal points and just 2.5 points behind the leader,of course many more participants are in this zone too so this pool is becoming increasingly interesting with only 9 races to go.

Leclerc and Russell had a really bad race. I put them both in my top 10 picks and Leclerc was even on podium for me. Leclerc got not only a front wing damage but also a floor damage. This situation slowed him down a lot and he couldn't even finish the race. Russell had a flat tyre also if I'm not wrong and this caused him to finish out of top 10.

Alonso and Gasly both deserve to be appreciated for this effort too.

I also don't believe that Perez and Verstappen have the same car from now on after the race on Sunday. Even though Ferrari called Leclerc to pit they couldn't prepare the tyres yet. This cost Leclerc a lot. This was the most interesting race I have watched in this season. I wish these weather conditions were in a place where overtaking on the track is easier.

The pool is going on quite excitingly now. After this race the competition for being the leader has been fired up even more. Congrats @Ulven on the yellow cap!

This race was something else. The weather changed quite often and especially the last 8 laps became even more exciting to follow. It was really sad to see Perez out of podium due to a time penalty. I don't know why he was careless that much about speeding while in pit lane. This was a huge opportunity for Gasly. Sainz was so desperate to defend him for many laps but he couldn't after a point. Ferrari is still dealing with problems. At least they should do better in pit.

Leclerc said that it was his fault though. He informed the team at last turn so Ferrari pit crew were unprepared for the pit.

^  Afaik, it wouldn't have mattered much if you made your picks after quali as we'd most likely change our picks after the grid is set and forfeit the points made on our pick for pole position right?  I think it's a necessary gambit to get more points post race.

But yeah, I made my picks after quali too.  So that's what I'm telling myself rn.  

And judging from the gap between Verstappen and the rest at Q3, I think he'll win with a more than 15 second gap later.

Well it was a chaotic first stint for the race.The team at Redbull clearly favors Max Verstappen by undercutting Perez through the pit stop when this is not at all needed since Max Verstappen was at a certain lap with over 4 seconds difference in a single lap when they were using the intermediate tires.

Now the Safety Car has made the gaps go away and we have Redbull one two now which will be extremely difficult to change until the end of race unless the drivers make some errors as the rain is almost 40 minutes away which is plenty of time for Redbull cars to create the gap with the other teams.

It's the Dutch GP, Verstappen's home race.  And his dad is in their somewhere at the paddock looking over everyone's shoulders.    Seriously tho, it's nothing new.  We've seen it happen before with Vettel and Webber.  All favors were for Vettel and to some extent Ricciardo and Verstappen when all favors were starting to go Verstappen's way...  Ricciardo prolly saw the writing on the wall and decided to leave.  Which in the end was a bad decision.  But what could he do.

Anyway nice to see Gasly on the podium.  I hope we get more dry races at the start then it rains in the middle of the first lap.    Lol.

And Leclerc said he's excited to drive the brand new 2024 car Ferrari promised.  Lolol.  I think we know how that's going to turn out.

In the Monza track overtaking is far more easy than in Zwandoort where we were this last weekend.I hope that rain is possible there and seeing in TV,I see that from Italian channels,really cold weather has already come to Italy right now and thus increasing the chances of seeing a wet Monza race.In fact as strange as it may sound we have not seen a Monza race yet in rain from many years,I have difficulties recalling when it was last time around that rained properly here and I am not talking about those races where we just had a shower.Hopefully this weekend our wishes will come true as in Netherlands we saw that when rain is in the track a lot of drama happens and it becomes a chaotic race making it more interesting for us fans.

By the way in RB racing team global pool I am 514/10800 players. Top guy is 184 points!

I also couldn't understand how Perez fell behind this much. On top of that he managed to capture the leading position by pitting in the first lap. It is easy to put Verstappen to the first place. However it is really very difficult to make a choice for the places after that. Therefore I think this season is going on really amusingly in terms of the pool.
