When Perez is in a good day he also has 1 second lap time faster in races ahead of the other cars, so it is definitely the best car.

Verstappen is capitalizing on this car just like Vettel did before with the same team when he won 4 Championships,then Hamilton did the same with Mercedes where he won 6 Championships with them,1 with McLaren he had a long time ago in 2008.So as Sainz said,it is not Verstappen fault that he drives this well,each team had an equal chance of working on creating the best car,Redbull did it and now Verstappen is enjoying the benefits.

Redbull is the strongest car even by Lewis Hamilton when he said Max would not be enjoying himself so much if I was in the same car as him like he is enjoying now with Perez as a team mate.

I see the leaderboard has finally shifted at the top, great job all you chasers as we approach the final quarter of the season. I'm still maintaining my position in 8th, just hope I'm more of a Piastri climbing up or even Leclerc, and not ending up like a Yuki and going out when the going gets tough haha. I had some people over at my place (Dutch) and while they're pleased with Max, they all seem to really like the way Tsunoda rubs off on them. Not sure if it's the same reason I liked him from last season (I have an underdog bias though).

Concur though that "best driver" is an argument that's as futile as GOAT drivel in football/sports/etc. I enjoy athletes, I love them all.

I think we've seen how good and gutsy Verstappen is during the 2021 season when he went toe to toe against Hamilton in a slightly inferior car.  I think any other driver would have folded under the kind of pressure he brings on the track.  Verstappen was willing to get the gloves off and risk his race than accepting to be outraced by Hamilton.  It was a brilliant season win or lose.

I think there is just perception bias here. Neither Max nor Perez is quite as noisy as others have been in the past and now with amplified media, the difference becomes starker. And then a subdued presence is associated with weaker performance. Rubbish.

Toto Wolff released an interview saying back in 2021 FIA changed the rules in the winter to stop the domination of Mercedes.

In a few months, they decided to reduce the drag by 30% in the rear of the car and it was the major strength for them.

I think they can do the same of the end of the season, changing unilaterally the rules to "nerf" RBR.

Of course not. I said that I accept Verstappen is a very good driver. I'm thinking like this independently from the car he drives. However there is a fact that Red Bull have the best car on the grid now. This makes things much easier for a very skilled driver like Verstappen to become this much dominant as well.

On the other hand I would think the same for another very good driver if they drive the same car in Verstappen's stead. For example if one of the drivers I mentioned in my previous post is brought to Verstappen's place that driver would also become very successful. This is why I praised Red Bull engineers too as they did a great work on the car.

You are right about the topic that Verstappen is the favourite. However if you take a risk you get one step ahead as all of the others pick Verstappen. It is a similar tactic to your not including Haaland in your squad to win free bets in the fantasy football pool. Surprises are more common to be seen when it comes to fastest laps. Drivers sometimes get a new set of tyres before the last lap to be able to get 1 more point.

Yes, it's very difficult to predict. Sometimes due to a safety car, sometimes a faster lap can't be set due to rain (like Alonso won fastest lap in Zandvoort) or most common by a driver, where's a big gap behind and he can make a free stop shortly before finishing to get new tyres. It's very difficult to say in advance, where such a gap could open up.


Singapore Grand Prix next weekend will be interesting because it's a very challenging track.
And maybe changing our Superbru picks after qualifying can make sense here because overtaking is very hard in Singapore. Yes, it's easier compared to Monaco but it's still a hard track to overtake. Depending on qualifying results, changing picks might be an option to look into.

Ferrari drivers are mostly doing well in practice sessions. Especially after their solid result in Monza they must be even more ambitious now. I'm still regretful for not adding one of them on podium. If I added one of them that would have definitely been Sainz which makes me even sadder. 

I expect Verstappen to make a big improvement in Singapore this time by the way. Because his last performance here was a disappointment - finished 7th.

I meant Monza when it comes to picking one for podium. I thought of adding one of them for Monza GP but couldn't trust Ferrari rather than the drivers. Because you know how they destroyed the races for their drivers quite many times until now.

The reason why I would have picked Sainz for podium in Monza GP was that his performance in Free Practice sessions was better than Leclerc.

I am also thinking in that direction, that Sainz will be better than Leclerc, but not sure that either will end up on podium
TBH, except for Max, that is official winner of every race, even before it starts, all other drivers are pretty equal in chasing podium (not all, but those 7 from top teams), and I would prefer to choose Hamilton or Alonso over Sainz, no matter practice results

If Max Verstappen doesn't have any problems this year he looks like he will win every race. I don't remember this kind of a thing in history. Even though these races are boring us while watching them maybe we could be witnessing a season that will go down in history after long years. I was doubtful about Ferrari's performance in Monza to continue or not. However they managed to leave Friday behind quite nicely.

Yeah,I just checked Practice 1 and 2 and Ferrari dominated both of them,I don't know if Monza was not because of the setup of the car only as this makes me think that real improvements for any track have been made to Ferrari since they are competitive in a very fast technical track like this one.

This race though is much more difficult for the drivers than Monza was as in Monza the track is straight near 70-75% of it while in here is full of turns and we have seen quite so many race incidents here,everything can happen in the race but first I need to see the official qualifying and see the real power of the cars.

It was predicted that Red Bulls might have difficulties. However it must have made everyone shocked that both Red Bull drivers couldn't qualify for Q3. Despite everything I think Verstappen still has a chance in the race tomorrow.

It's a track where the fast slow down and the slow speed up. so a team that couldn't challenge red bull at monza can outrun them on the streets of singapore with drs support. It's one of the most feared tracks by the teams that dominate the season. Structurally it is a strange place. The corners of the track are also very interesting. But since the race is held in the evening session, the grip will be quite strong if it doesn't rain. So the drivers can push their cars a little more comfortably. It could be a race where albon, norris and perez could come to the fore. Liam Lawson, a rookie in only his third race in F1, who had never raced on this track before, and who was driving the worst car on the grid, slapped Verstappen out of Q3 in yet another slap in the face of the fact that F1 is truly an "automobile sport".
