Albon's pace in Free Practice 1 session was really impressive. For now it looks like Perez is ambitious for his home Grand Prix.    But Free Practice can be quite misleading about some drivers and let's see if Perez will disappoint his fans in qualifying.

I saw Theo Pourchaire driving an Alfa Romeo in this session. He had only 4 laps though and no time set but I think he has a big potential. I see him as the most promising F2 driver now and he might also find a chance in Formula 1 just like Piastri in a couple of years at worst.

yeah, Albon is doing a great season so far.

But keep in mind that we are near the end of the season and the teams are using low RPM on their engine to avoid penalties, so the free practice can be really wrong as timing.

Oh wait, practice showed Max to be the quickest. Big surprise, there. Perez got a respectable third, so I'm wondering if I should give homeboy a podium right next to Max. And Yuki moved out of 10th after his big penalty haha.

Let's see what the most mediocre driver of the all grid which is Perez who is racing at home will do in such track as he too has a Redbull car to drive.In the last 10 races or so he has been consistently the worse driver of the grid but I think in this one at least in front of his public if the car feels well,he can surprise us for the good to give a strong fight in the race for getting at least in the podium,it should not be that difficult with a car being in perfect condition for such track.

For the picks I will wait to see the end of the free practice after about 30 minutes and then will decide but most likely going with the same picks I have had during much of the season except I need to replace Stroll with someone else,he looks like he is in great contention with Perez as who is the worse driver of 2023 season.

Difficult to expect something unexpected to happen when you see what Verstappen is doing in practice. I only hope that Perez will have decent race at home soil, it's needed that much for home in such difficult season.

From what I am seeing him doing in the Practice 2 and now live in Practice 3 it is showing that he is there 4th or 5th and I believe starting from such position if he manages to also do well in the Pole Position which starts just 2 hours from now I see him doing well in the race and why not achieve a much much needed podium after his disastrous recent races,if he cannot put up a good show even at home soil then I think it will be game over for him and he may be replaced despite having signed a contract for 2024.

Redbull has done it several times changing drivers in the middle of the season,they always leave a clause in their contract that if the driver does not do a minimum required from him he may be fired for the moment like happened with Albon not long ago.

The qualifying was lovely last night. Ricciardo was just incredible by that high level pace. I was quite shocked to see an AlphaTauri being this strong.    He finished the session in 4th place right behind Verstappen. But I guess that Ricciardo would experience the same thing Ferrari do regularly.    I think that he will also stay slower in racing pace but maybe he can still get one point at least.

The only reason Verstappen could not do the pole position is the fact that he was much more aggressively than he should entering the curbs by going with near all wheels into them and at one point risking to damage the car in the first fast lap of Q3.It was only natural for him to not recover in the other lap that was the last fast one in Q3.

It is normal that he will overtake them in the race as Ferrari lacks a lot in race pace if you remember what happened in USA last week in the last race,they showed really under average performance.

In fact this time I would not blame him,he saw a great opportunity to get first or second place and he tried.He could not have waited as this is a boring track from what I am seeing so he made the right choice to attack although it did not went well.Now though the crash of Magnussen brought the Safety Car which may change things,the funny thing is that this Safety Car come in just after the main drivers had their pit stops so I don't think the top drivers will pit except Norris who did as he had pitted really early in the race,a move which up until now was the right one.

I lose a lot in the pool as I had Perez second and also fastest lap since this is his home race,now red flag what the f*ck?

The most advantaged person in here I definitely think will be Hamilton who was having a great race pace although Leclerc hold up well.The other advantaged persons will be Norris who just pitted in the Safety Car and the other drivers who had a distance to close,now the distance is 0 and we will have a new race start,hopefully there is not another crash between Hamilton and Leclerc or in the pool predictor I will be totally destroyed.

I think F1 should add a new rule that if a Red Flag happens and if the car retired can be fixed they should be allowed to race,of course no one knows when a Red Flag will be but anyway this would push teams like in Perez case to try and fix it hoping for this Red Flag.

I do feel bad for Perez as this might have been his last year in F1 and maybe his last home race in Mexico but maybe the rumors are not true and he will have another run with RedBull for 2024 season.

With race being almost over , I can say that Ferrari did a decent job to keep at least one car on podium as that will bring important points for Ferrari in constructors championship but also for Mercedes and Lewis who have a great race and a well deserve 2nd place.

Driver of the day for me is Ricciardo and I'm glad he re-found the passion to be fast and drive aggressive.

For me Ricciardo is a great driver but he was at Redbull and showed that he won a couple of races like Perez did and so he achieved the same as Perez did with Redbull,they were both second drivers,Perez to Verstappen and Ricciardo to Vettel.For me the guy who deserves that seat more than anyone else especially after seeing the race of now it is definitely Lando Norris,this man was on fire in tonight race passing everyone in front of him and if he had like some 7-9 laps more he would have passed Sainz too.

It was a joy to see him drive tonight and not because I am a fan of McLaren but because of what he did,especially that overtake against Russell in a place where no one has done overtakes before.

I'm very happy for winning the yellow cap for the 2nd time. I got really very sad for Perez. It must have created a big disappointment for him to be out of the race at turn 1 already at his home. If Perez didn't become out of the race today I think that he could have competed for the lead.

There are only 3 races left for the end of the season and there is still a big competition for the championship in the pool.
