Why do people stay poor?

Really difficult to say. In my opinion it is a question of mentality first, poor people has a mentality of poor (work 8/24 on 5 days/week for a monthly income, ecc.), rich people are always finding new ways to invest their

money and try to earn as much as possible from it. Also, your place of born is strongly important, if you're Bengalese you'll sure have less possibility than an American boy (nothing to say, but a rich country gives more

chance for sure). In my opinion, you should always work hard, learn English if you're not American/UK native, travel along the world, discover new culture, find your preferite business and invest heavily on it. (When I say

investment I mean also your time, not only your money).

The country matters, it is true, the average earnings in America will be significantly higher than in poor countries, and this will determine the opportunities. In addition, the environment is also very important, no matter what country you live in, if you are surrounded by successful people, then you will strive to reach their level, if you have to communicate with people who live poorly most of the time, then this can hold you back, to strive for something more. To change something, you need to change your thinking, and this is a very difficult work.

I hate people who can really say that "If I can do it then they can do it too" mentally not knowing the difference between their privilege. It's just simple that born rich people already have the resources for them it start having money sources like investment while for the poor they need to study first to get a well paying job or work for a long time just to get a promotion increases their income that are used for their needs. Plus rich already have connections to other people results to easily get a money sources. But for the poor they'll need to explore the work industry just to get a job. Education, health, essential needs, and experience. Those are the different between rich and poor, rich might got all those while the poor for sure need to sacrifice one from the mentioned examples. Still I believed that its still depends on people, if they changed their mindset to break the system of staying poor they'll might succeed and escape that system.

I don't know what your real goal is to make this topic, but I'm sure you are working hard to change the life you are living right now.

many factors keep people poor and unable to get rich, and the majority are lazy - who can't read opportunities - don't want to work hard and smart. I'm not rich and not poor but so far I feel that what I have is enough (enough for me and my family to live life). I never had big goals to get rich because I'm sure it's not easy to get that unless I'm really lucky (win the big jackpot or lottery)

reflect on yourself and do to the maximum what you can do and always see the opportunities that exist, don't be idealistic, make as much money as you can, don't be greedy.

There is a fine line between being poor and slightly above poor and can afford to buy 3 meals in a day. Those who stayed being poor, like the ones who barely can have 3 meals in a day was actually a choice. There were a lot of ways to earn extra and save for what's necessary to upgrade your knowledge and land a job that pays more than the minimum wage.
I was once a very poor person, but after I've matured and build my own family, I have learned valuable lesson and learned how to become what I am today.
Saving for a better future doesn't only mean you have to put up business, but also means you have to pay for seminars, lessons, and short term online studies to upgrade your skills and be competitive in getting a good paying job.

Why not? everyone can become rich but rich is already rich and poor needs time to become rich. Rich people have the variety of ways to earn money but poor people have not due to lack of money. If rich are not interested in some business then they leave that because it will not impact their wealth but poor have to think hundred times to leave it because the deposited money in business matters a lot for them. I remembered that there are lots of people who are wealthy but they don't show their wealth and there are also lots of people who have wealth but their life style is like that they do not have any money and they are afraid of putting money in business due to risk of losing so they remain in the constant position neither they loss money nor they earn more. While I have heard that you will be able to make money if you utilize you money otherwise it will be difficult to originate the way of earning.

Indeed, everyone have different opportunities in life when they were born. Some just really have to focus on their studies an they would have stable job and businesses in the future. But for some, access to education is hard and this would make their situation even harder since they need to work twice as hard if they want to achieve something. Education is the primary reason why people stay poor since they have no capacity to take higher education that is needed for them to have jobs that is not only above minimum but also enough to make their life progressive as well.

The real answer is in each of us and the real wealth will differ from one person's point of view to another. I want to ask one thing, for you the real wealth is how much money? And what assets do you think will place people richer?

If you ask people from the upper class about wealth, the answer will be different from asking people from the lower middle class. The levels of wealth are different and there is always no formula to calculate the wealth of people at different stages?

Questions that always arise and there is no solution for those who are lazy, confused and afraid are the main reasons people find it difficult to get out of poverty.

Real wealth when you live quietly without debt and you don't have to think about monthly installments to cover loans for the business you are running. Money will never lead to the true meaning of wealth and there is a lot of falsehood regarding the wealth that people have today.

People get poor because they are not advance and lack rich mentality base on the level of their poverty rate, the situation and conditions have weakened their aspirations and they also have gotten used and believe in the states they are. Also the long condition makes some to give up which makes their condition remain as it is.

There are many ways for a person to become rich, the only problem is that they are afraid to try or they don't have confidence in themselves that they can do it. And there are others who are just plain lazy. In short, it's up to them to make that decision.
But if you are a strategic person and you are determined to get out of poverty, you will do everything and you will be patient from the beginning if you know that something can help you get out of life. Just like this cryptocurrency or bitcoin that can be a way or instrument for anyone to make money.

Everyone don't want to be poor but only a few take steps toward status improvement.  We have seen this kind of situation on slum area, wherein most of the people living there are too lazy to look for decent jobs and extra earnings.  Many of them wanted easy money and prefer being idle instead of doing a hard jobs.  They often failed to be creative and try their luck on different ventures that can elevate their status of living.

Aside from that many of these people are financially illiterate.  They failed to know the value of savings and investments.  They always have this excuse of not having enough money to bring food to the table but the truth is that they are lacking in action to bring more funds to their stash.  Unless these kinds of traits change, we will always see people in poverty state.

I agree with that because sometimes unconsciously that mindset will make us what we will be,
hard work alone will not be enough to get rich because there are still other points that need to be done,
who definitely need more effort in any case to get rich.

Why are we poor? We grew up in a country that does not have enough wages, another thing is that the educated are also low which did not finish school because the work came first to help the parents. Now there is a family of my own, i have a simple job, i am still trying hard to find extra income to feed the family three times a day, which is enough. But I will still try to come up through businesses that are suitable in my area, so that at least there's an extra money in case of need. We need hope , be positive , work hard and trust.

Getting educated doesn't take you out of poverty, we have very educated poor people all over the world and many rich people that aren't even educated. Education makes you intellectual in the society but not rich. If education was the key to wealth then everyone who has finished his education to the university level should be rich but when you look at the society that's not how it is.

Education does increase your chances of getting wealthy since if you all have the behaviors of a rich individual and then you add it your education, you can be a step ahead but you'll need more than education to acquire wealth. You need to be investment conscious, know how to spot opportunity and take them etc.

I think they got no choice to be that way it's either from their parents or themselves already. Like they are born with poor family that everyday is like a survival. They lack funds for investment or even for their health insurance due to poverty. Sure they want to get rich but with their status and lack of money it would be hard for them to act for their life to change. They might get a job let's say their income are always fit to their needs. Their only way to change their life is if they given the opportunity such as people would help them.

No one wants to be poor, but sometimes life doesn't favor them. I have seen many people who work harder than others, but in the end, they only have enough to support their families and cannot save even a little. Too much has happened to them and they can't handle it all. I believe that each of us has a destiny, sometimes, it takes luck to become rich, and efforts cannot solve poverty.

Even if one manages to become OKish, maybe find a good job that pays some good amount of salary he will have to cater for his junior brothers and sisters, and sometimes even the whole family, and this will end up becoming a heavy load on him.

I agree that external factors such as the situation and conditions around a person can influence their level of poverty. However, I would also like to add that internal factors such as habits, mindsets and attitudes can also play an important role in overcoming poverty.

However, it is very important to remain optimistic and work on overcoming the problem. Hard work with the same nature of job can't bring you to the state that may give you some decent edge over poverty, unlike with proper/higher education where you can explore and can take good opportunities to pick a job that may give you better compensation, though not applied with 3rd world country mostly as there's no way to choose if the availability of job are not competitive enough to earn decently.

I mean even you have good education but the economy can't provide good / high value types of jobs then there's nothing we can do.

If someone wanted to get rich then they need to create their own opportunity, and talking about poor they do wanted to get rich but for many reasons they can't no matter how much they make. Main reason why everyone can't become rich is simply they don't know anything about how money works even though they use it everyday, they spent money but not give importance to savings then how they can invest and make returns?

Since some of the poor struggle to provide for themselves each day, I understand why they would want to become wealthy or invest their money. Poor people never believe in investing because they are afraid of losing their money, and they don't understand technology or any other type of investment, which is why they don't. These issues, among others, prevent the poor from investing their own money.
It will be very challenging to find a poor person who invests their money in other things because they are not content enough with what they have. People who invest will be capable of doing it, and I believe that no matter what happens in this life, not all of us will become wealthy.
