Such an unfortunate way to die. Thought this is not new to everyone of us, but the cases of suicide increases every year, not only in gambling related cases but in general. I have seen a lot of people committed suicide due to broken relationship, family problems, debts, bullying, and of course because of gambling and drug addiction. Well, he's just a 22 year old who step into a huge mistakes in gambling so his mind is still susceptible  to this kind of option to avoid facing the consequences of his failures. I think all of us may have thought experienced desperation but not all of us thought of killing ourselves because there are going to be always a solution to every problem. I guess that kid doesn't have any contingency plan when everything doesn't go the way he want it. This should serve as an eye opener for the parents who is not checking their children on what activities they are interested in. It will help prevent bad things to happen when a parent know what his child are doing after school.

it is the duty of parents, teachers, and also the community to continue to monitor the small changes that occur in children, moreover, their mentality is still not stable. usually, suicide is done by people who want attention and are confused about the best way for them to solve the problems they are facing right now.

when the child dies due to suicide, the mental pressure that the parents will receive is enormous, because it is not easy to raise a child from a young age with great affection.

I think the boy was schooling (college) in another town far from his parent abode so the task of monitoring him becomes very difficult, of course some of these kids can be a pretender when holidaying with their parents that is they won't exhibit any act of being a gambler until they get back to school, it very unfortunate that the kid committed suicide after losing a bet with his school and from a story I read from another source the boy did gambled with his first semester school fee and lost after his father was aware of misdemeanour he repaid the school fee again, though having got information about the gambling habit of his son he should have paid the child school fee directly to the school account.

The lesson here is that families and friends should check what kind of character one of their family or friend has, what they are doing, and see if they are depressed and always wants to be alone.

This shows that excessive or being a hardcore gambler cannot result to any positive to anyone. And lets think more upon using our money since if we allocate it for other important matters we should not use this since for sure we will encounter big stress that we can't even handle. Yes, that's right, when we have money for other important things, then we should never touch that money for anything, especially for gambling. There are many stories about this, in my country, recently there was also the suicide of a high-ranking goods delivery service company, allegedly he decided to commit suicide because he lost a lot of money due to gambling addiction and also one that made him decide to commit suicide because he get into a lot of debt because of gambling.
And that's not the only story about someone's ruin because of gambling addiction, around my house there is also someone I know and even before he became someone who was successful in his business. Now his parents must be responsible for what he did.

And yet people think the quite guys are the one who knows more of things and some kind of mysterious to girls. This one seem very misunderstood because the whole time, he is addicted to gambling.

Feel sorry for him. Didn't wait what could happen after father finds out. If he didn't ended his life he could have learned more and probably get passed and live a hopeful life ahead.

if you read thru the article, he did gamble his friend's money and lost. certainly this is gambling addiction. sad to see fellow sports gambler can decide to end his life all because he lost money of someone.

The article says "school fees" not his friend's money.

And if you go through the article you'll see that it was close to his exams and he wagered is school fee and lost the bet that could have resulted into a panic that made him to end his life. In a situation like this he could have just opened up to his parents and the worst that could have happened was him getting shouted at his parents won't have killed him or send him away because of money they would have grounded him and make him go through some punishment or perhaps enrolled him in a job during his holidays to work the money he lost to betting, that would have been a better solution than ending his own life.

after reading such a long story I can conclude that self-control not to expect too much from gambling and have a positive mindset that gambling is only a place for fun. that's very important.
In this case, we can take lessons to avoid gambling from people around us who are young or underage who don't have good emotional control which causes addiction like that story. even though he was a quiet person, this quiet person has a high emotional level.

It's a sad story. He was probably scared of what wil happen to him as a consequences of his action. Aside from losing money from betting, he also took and used his friend's money. He's still young and he can still change to have a better life but decided to take his own life. It's sad... Condolence to the family.

I know that this is very painful, but there is nothing we can do other than advise ourselves and those closest to us so that we can always avoid gambling addiction in any way and at least be able to educate them more about how dangerous the effects of addiction are. If that person had received the necessary support and encouragement from people who could help him overcome his addiction or provide moral support, they might not have resorted to such a tragic decision and he would have been safe by now. Even if your addiction overwhelms you and you lose all your money, there's no need to end your life. Instead, try to slowly address and resolve the problem. I believe that no problem in life should drive you to take your own life. Every problem has a solution  and it's important to maintain a positive mindset rather than succumbing to negativity.

From reading the story, I realise more the need to not trust anyone with your personal details like your bank pin especially when you as a friend or family member of that person has already noticed the character of addictive gambling. I have a friend who gambles so much, whenever he is in need and decides to ask for a Loan claiming to be in bad position, I do not like to give him because I know that he is an addict to gambling and can do almost anything just to get money to gamble with. If you have a friend who gambles, be careful of any financial transactions or interactions you make and have.

Sad to hear this. This kid very likely felt ashamed and trapped, like there was no way out. I can only imagine how he felt thinking about facing his family and the friend he borrowed the money from. Probably was thinking the worst case scenarios that lead him to do something like this. Everyone should be gambling very responsibly. Not everyone is financially stable and is able to recover from gambling loss. For some, the pressure and fear of disappointing the closed ones can feel unbearable. But still, you should remember that they are your loved ones and they will always eventually forgive you. Talking is the key here.

In this case, I won't blame the parents because the victim is already at the legal age. He is also an heir to his parent's status which probably makes this victim grow like this that is too careless about money. You can't watch your children 24/7, especially when they are of legal age because they are already liberated for their own life.

The only problem here is maybe the parents don't teach their child to become open to them for their problems that's why this child decided to bury the problem with him. It is obvious that our parents are worried about us getting addicted and  ruining our lives due to the uncontrollable urge to gamble.  They are worried that we might not be able to control ourselves and fall to the abyss of gambling addiction, so they try their best to remind us even getting angry just to emphasize that they are serious about what they are advising us.
