No manager takes a job thinking "I am going to be horrible and we will relegate", of course he does have that fear in him I am sure, but he also believes that he could keep them up. But with Tottenham only 1 point ahead of relegation zone, we have to realize that the possibility of them going down is a lot more likely.

This also depends on other teams as well, Wolves is gone, there is no way they can come back from that, league is too short for that to be possible, and even Burnley is gone as well. Only team that poses a difficulty for Tottenham is West Ham, and to be fair they are a very strong team as well, both Spurs and West Ham are shocking to see that low. Lets see how they will do, it is not going to be easy at all.

Before getting Tottenham's new manager employed some things where considered,  which is the possibility of him helping the team go off that relegation zone, to me I know they will escape that relegation with the help of there present manager because all needed in that team is good orientation and the best will be seen in them.
Before the mismanagement of Tottenham's teams, they where one of the most dangerous team in the Premier League especially when it has to do with playing against big teams and I know they will do same in the hands of this there new coach.

Their mentality is indeed disturbed and this makes Tottenham's condition unable to develop the game they have especially with several rapid coach changes that make the chemistry even less cohesive due to the many pushes that change for them in terms of schemes and philosophies of the game.

Currently De Zerbi has a big burden because apart from restoring the mentality that Tottenham has on the one hand he must also be able to make at least Tottenham survive and not be relegated next season.
But with De Zerbi's ability and way of working where he already knows how the EPL competition I feel that this could be a breath of fresh air for Tottenham to stay in the highest caste.
The match only leaves 7 weeks and actually their schedule is not too heavy although there are several clubs to watch out for because they have the potential to lose points.
De Zerbi is a passionate coach who wants his team to win matches but he has 7 to save Spurs. He must ease the burden otherwise Spurs will go down. He should have been appointed coach when the year began. If De Zerbi was Tottenhams coach at start of the season they would be close to the top.
We cannot suppose like this because although De Zerbi's record in the EPL, especially when he was at Brighton, is quite good, it does not mean that Tottenham is superior especially with their condition that has a mentality problem from the previous season so that regardless of him coming at the beginning of the season or now his condition will remain the same where he has a big burden of preusre.

Last season they crumbled even in 17th place at the end of the season and this season is likely not to be much different because for now Tottenham's problems not only lie in the coaching problem but this has branched out and they are difficult to identify one by one even though the majority of their players are quite good in terms of individuals but always have problems because of the scheme, teamwork and poor chemistry.

FA Cup quarterfinal seems like a lot to discuss especially for Liverpool because they really played very badly today.
Arsenal? They also tried to be clowns like today.

Whatever arteta is doing this season is working, arsenal have been able to keep up a good performance for a very long time. The points gap is enough to slow down City for a while but if arsenal starts performing poorly then it means that they might give city a chance, but that's not really going to happen because arsenal are really determined to win the title this season. Out of the seven games they have they just have to win about four to five and that's possible for them to achieve.
Arsenal performance has been strong from the beginning of the season, up till now, but I notice that Arsenal performance has dropped in other competitions and I hope their performance isn’t going to drop when we back to the premier league. Arsenal lost against Manchester city in the carabao cup final, Arsenal plays better than Manchester City this season, so I was expecting them to win Manchester city in the final, but they lost against Manchester city.

Today again Arsenal played against Southampton in the FA cup semi final and Arsenal lost again. I don’t believe they going to lose the match, because Southampton isn’t a team that Arsenal are even suppose to lose to, so now Arsenal are out of the FA cup also. How sure are we that when the premier league matches start, Arsenal are not going to be losing unnecessarily.

I remember when Tottenham fans celebrated losing to Manchester City just because it would affect Arsenal’s chances of winning the title race. It is amazing how their hate for Arsenal is greater than their desire for success, can’t say I’m surprised that a club with that kind of mentality and zero ambition is going down.

It's part of the challenges a club that has goals will face, it's general not just clubs people companies etc

Meanwhile it's the fans that celebrated not Tottenham players, so you saying that the club has a bad mentality is not really a good one,
It's the fans that has such mentality,
Sometimes fans make a club look bad, but we should be able to identify the club itself and its fans

A great victory for Southampton, who were a massive underdog in the clash against Arsenal in the FA cup quarter final, but managed to get a 2-1 win.
Looking at the game stats, Arsenal was clearly dominating in terms of ball possession or shots on goal, but I'd say Southampton posed more threat to Arsenal's goal than the other way around, and I think it's fair to say that they deserved that win.
Arsenal made a lot of mistakes tonight and Southampton capitalised on that responding with fast counterattacks.

After losing the EFL cup final to Man City a game before, Arsenal failed again and dropped out of the FA cup. Some could say this is a good thing, as it will allow them to focus entirely on the Premier League and Champions League, but others see it as a sign of concern and an indication of something not working as it should. It definitely won't boost Arsenal's confidence in the games to come.

I don't think Arsenal is safe. With the point difference they've got, they know not to lose form or focus at this point. Like you noted, they've been able to keep up a good performance and maintain the lead. I'd like to think they've already won the title this season as they're actually looking good enough to win it but then, I don't want to anything to jinx it.
I hope they don't lose focus as the point difference isn't much and Manchester city could catch up and pass them if Arsenal starts to fumble. But I know Arsenal needs the win. After losing out on winning the title for the past two seasons, they're hungry for the win and hopefully, won't have a repeat of what happened the previous season.

Was their a loss of key players to injuries in this arsenal team?
Because that's not enough excuse to be losing to an opponent like Southampton, no disrespect to them, but this are games arsenal should be winning easily, without having to struggle.
Now they are out of the English fa cup, and their only opportunity to claim a trophy this season is by winning the English premier League title or by winning the uefa champions league, which I see as impossible, because with this type of bad form they are currently in, if they are not careful enough, they may lose the title to Manchester City, if they can't be consistent now that the season has gotten to it defining moment, but if they are really going to win something this season, the English premier league is their best bet, since their destiny is in their hands.

I really hope so. I'd like Arsenal to win the Premier League. Can they be consistent? Yes, without a doubt. Is it something this team struggles with? Could they run out of steam? I hope not, but that happened in the Champions League last season. They beat Real Madrid and then played a completely different style of football This time they have everything under control, they can win easily, but they can't be overconfident So many crazy things have happened in football lately that anything is absolutely possible.
Arsenal are controlling the title competition very well but the big win of Manchester City against Liverpool in FA Cup today shows that this competitor are still very strong, and will challenge Arsenal till the season ending. Arsenal have at least 6 points more than Manchester City if two clubs have same total matches, and it's big enough for taking a title.

Only 7 more matches, and Arsenal are actually counting down match by match to win the title. They can look at how Leicester City years ago won their Premier League title and try to do the same but surely Arsenal have better tradition than Leicester City. Manchester City won't give up but with only 7 more matches, it looks to be very late for Manchester City to overtake a first position. Especially Arsenal in this season are more stronger mentally than they were in three previous seasons.
That performance is a case of the FA Cup and not the Premier League, and besides, Liverpool are in their worst form and played against Manchester City. It depends on who Manchester City will be playing in their match fixtures throughout the season; that will make the league trophy 🏆 still  possible to end in their hands, but if you are talking about City continuing to win their games, then what about Arsenal also keeping doing their good job? So you see that City would have no choice; they should pray for two things: Arsenal to drop points and for them to continue winning their games.

I don't really know what to say about Arsenal loss to Southampton because that actually signify weakness and if that mentality is taken to the premier league the I'm afraid then will have to go home Trophiless is season again but I pray it should not happen to the because they have really tried and played exceptionally this season. Manchester city also on the other hand has started picking up and who knows what is their plan and target as Guardiola can very dangerous.

Arsenal disqualification in the FA Cup yesterday is something that was surprising to me, I never expected them to lose that match, it seems Arsenal problems have started again but I pray they will be able to lift the premier league title this season, Arsenal players are just very useless set of people but I blame the coach what did he do in the beginning of the season that made them play very well. Why can’t he implement such thing again or change to another thing that we make them consistently playing well and winning matches I don’t know what is happening to Arsenal anymore. Is it that they are cursed or what how can you lose 2 trophies that would have been very easy for you to lift, if they end up not lifting the Premier league title they should just sack the coach because he’s not a good coach anymore.

Arsenal are currently nine points ahead of Manchester City, but Manchester City still have a game in hand, so maintaining consistency to avoid dropping points in their remaining matches is crucial. Arsenal lost to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, eliminating them from the competition which shows the danger of Arsenal not performing at their best, as such an incident could have a detrimental effect on the Premier League. The loss of several key players will impact the team's quality and I hope Arteta can maximize his strengths so that this season doesn't fail to achieve the championship again, as in the last three seasons.
People are just thinking that a 9 points  gap is much, but to me, it is not a big gap that Arsenal should be comfortable with or believe the Premier League is already theirs. They need to work much harder if they want to win the Premier League this season; if not, it may be another story.Manchester City is doing well now, and their remaining matches are not against very strong teams. However, for Arsenal, they have about two matches that could give them serious headaches. So, Arsenal needs to put in extra effort to make it happen.

But if Arsenal continue to play the way they did against Manchester City and Southampton, I don’t think the Premier League will be theirs this season. The most painful part is that Southampton eliminated Arsenal from the FA Cup a team from the Championship. It is very bad for Arsenal players and Arteta.Even though Arsenal’s first eleven were not on the pitch, their second eleven should have been able to handle Southampton, but see what happened they really messed up. If Southampton can eliminate Arsenal from a competition, what hope does Arsenal have in other competitions?I don’t think they are ready to win any big trophy except the Premier League, which they still need to fight hard for. As for the Champions League, I don’t see Arsenal winning

It's his choice, he believes that he's capable of helping them escape relegation lets see if he can really do that, although he stated that whether the club goes on relegation or not he'll still remain their manager that means he know the risk and willing to accept whatever his fate may be. If he succeeds, Tottenham might end up being very competitive next season.
De Zerbi is not a novice manager, he has done as much as he could with the teams that he managed, so there is a possibility that he could do better. But the real question is, how long will he stay?

If he does manage to keep the team afloat, then he could manage next year as well, but if he fails, and they do go down then I am guessing that he will be fired as well.

This is a very sensitive period for them, they are about to embark on a few game series that will decide the next five years for them.

Two defeats in two big games bring big disasters for Arsenal their campaign suddenly goes wrong. Once they were looking for many cups, but now they have a chance of ending their season with just one trophy Premier league, because injuries and poor runs are troubling them.

Mikel Arteta failed to set things at the top level despite having quality players in every season. After having an impressive start, they needed to be on the worst level because of the poor rotation system. I am expecting that they are going to win the title easily, but in case of having trouble, Mikel Arteta is going to lose his job because this is going to be the last chance for him to win the title, a title that can secure a long-term strategy at The Emirates.

Finally we are about to enter the next match week... There are only 7 weeks remaining in the season. There is no room for big mistakes as of now. Teams had more than enough time to chill and think about what they can do more.

The league title is just around the corner for Arsenal! They just need to keep the gap like this at worst to prevent Manchester City from being hopeful again. Tottenham also need to stand up and fight with their new manager De Zerbi to hold on in the PL...

I'm expecting both of these to happen by the way.  Smiley

I'm really disappointed at Chelsea and I hope Liam Rosenior used this break to restrategise and correct his mistakes, he should figure out a formation that would help him win the rest of the games and try to end in a position that would make the team qualify for an European tournament, at this I'm no longer hoping for the Champions League.

But if the team manage to qualify for the Champions League, Liam Rosenior should be shown the doo, he might manage to take them there but he's not capable of leading them through to a good stage De Zerbi really have a huge task ahead, glad the Premier League match days are back, can't wait to see how he'll handle it.

Arsenal getting evicted in the FA cup simply means it's another trophy for Manchester city because i no longer see any credible team that can stand in Manchester city's way no not even Chelsea, yes it might happen that they will meet with Chelsea in the final but i bet Chelsea coach doesn't have what it takes to beat Pep guardiola in a final so to me i will only say it's another trophy for Manchester city, and i think it's quite a fair season for Pep guardiola and his boys, if they end up winning the FA cup and for Arsenal they should be very careful with the league else they will have themselves to blame.

I can't believe Arsenal players faked injury during the international break to return to England from their various international camp just to lose to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter final yesterday. Arsenal have lost their last two matches in English football which didn't speak well of them in their pursuit of the Premier League title. If Arsenal brings the same attitude in the Premier League, we might see Arsenal bottling the title fourth time in a row.

I think EPL has to be Arteta's last chance to give a trophy to the Arsenal fans. It's very erratic to see how they went form quadruple, treble, and now double. I never expected Arsenal to be this bad. Something that surprises me that is happening even after Arteta faked his players injury.

Arteta deserves the sack if they bottle EPL caused by i think they have no potential to win UCL with this mediocre performance. 2 games, two trophies wasted. There's no worsen result than it. It's gonna be a record breaker if they also missed UCL and EPL. They have to be the only team that have potential to win quarrupple, then bottle them all in months.  Cheesy
