Yan Diomande is a talented player, no doubt. But I don’t think he worth the amount Liverpool are paying to sign him. Leipzig rejected the first offer from Liverpool, they rejected €100m for a player who has played only one season for Leipzig. Liverpool should learn a lesson from last season after signing Wirtz from Leverkusen €120m, Yan Diomande might struggle to adapt to the pressure of the Premier League.

It' is incredible that Liverpool can spent 120 millions for wirtz and this season another 100 millions for Diomande. I watch a match with diomande on the pitch and it is a very fast and dribbler player, but it is a incredible amount of money for a player with only 40 matches with Leipzig. In this years for the top team buy a young player it is a blood splash and not all of this player become the new messi.

To me Liverpool has been careless in their spending in the last two seasons, spending over two hundred millions on only two players if this Diomande deal goes through. Liver to me is missing something fundamental and that, is building a team from already what they have including the youth team they should promote some of their youth players and blend with the present squad, instead of wasting money buying more player when the already existing players have not been utilized to their full potential.


Liverpool spent a lot of money last season and only struggled to even qualified for the champions League. Liverpool should look inward and stop spending more money. This new coach should not make the mistake that Alot did by spending recklessly only to be sacked.

A clear indication that this Liverpool team has totally gone astray, like they are on the verge of embarking on another indefinite journey of not winning the league title once again, like they really spent so huge last season but end up making it to the UEFA Champions League with a narrow escape, if not for the fact that FIFA actually added one more spot for the English premier League teams based on their performance in the Europe competition, Liverpool wouldn't have made it to the UEFA Champions League last season, now they want to do same again this season, can those signings really save them?

I agree with you, if Chelsea wants good result from their coach then they need to give the coach time to build the team very well but I doubt if Chelsea will actually give him time to build the team very well,

Alonso is a good coach that’s why most Chelsea fans are happy that he is the new coach, but Chelsea management just have to learn how to be patient, they shouldn’t expect instant result from Alonso. They should give him money to sign the players which he want, and with time he will be able to rebuild Chelsea back. If Chelsea are in a rush to get result, then they might just end up losing Alonso also, because if he can’t fix Chelsea team within a short period of time, they going to sack him. Chelsea problem is not even from the coach alone, some players are not suppose to be in a team like Chelsea, Alonso will have to flush out those players.

Alonso is a good coach and is growth has been progressive, my issue is not that the management may not give him enough time but rather they might not give him t o support or allow him make the managerial decisions fully.

Although, while we understand the aspect of waiting it's important that a structure or a level of growth and identity will be seen on the team in general and individual players (even if it's not all but in a higher positive percentage).

The moment Alonso took decision to take in charge of Chelsea, I believe he will be aware of their expectation because right now chelsea expectation is very high. Chelsea have invested in their team for almost two seasons and despite that they have not achieved their him, it was because of this players that they have to let go of some of their former players thinking that there will definitely see a better result with them.

Alonso should know that he's not here for a joke and right now is effort is needed here and I don't think the management will give him more time, because already the damage is has been done, meaning they could not be able to qualify for any Europa League which is a very painful part for a team like Chelsea. And his involvement in this journey is to bring them out from that level.

Even without giving him time Maresca was already performing well he already won some trophies, I personally do not get the reason why they had to sack him, Im having a suspicion that it was not just all about football, there could be something more that made them sack him

A really big downgrade on Ipswich side if you ask my opinion on this deal... They should have continued with Kieran McKenna who has made them promote to the PL. You shouldn't part ways with a successful manager easily.

If he wanted his depature by himself then okay. But otherwise I don't think Gary O'Neil is a better choice. He has managed PL teams already maybe but I can't say he looked great most of the time.

Kieran McKenna has been in charge of Ipswich for a long time and he also brought success to this team in the 24/25 season before finally having to return to the Championship and again bring this team promotion for the new season, I heard that he was not fired, but resigned, do not know if this is true or not, but I think this is the truth, which means that if you look at his loyalty, it is not enough for Ipswich management to sack him, I think management has kept him to keep coaching, but Kieran McKenna said he wanted to take a break, so maybe the appointment of Gary O'Neil is the last step that management must choose.

Chelsea did not give their former coach Maresca time to build a team and they became impatient because we saw that they wanted results very quickly. Anyway they have already sacked that manager but I noticed that Chelsea's manager will be joining Manchester City next season, perhaps this manager will be able to fill the void left by Pep Guardiola by joining Manchester City and take the City club further. However Chelsea have now appointed an experienced manager so perhaps he needs to be given time to do a great job with this club,if Chelsea management can be patient and the players in this team can perform perfectly, so it seems to me that PL club Chelsea will be able to restore their dignity under the leadership of Xabi Alonso in the upcoming season.

I am expecting to see a lot of competition on the Premier League next season, because all the teams are set to be among the contender for the trophy, we all know that when it comes to completing for trophy it's actually look very interesting to watch because every team will bring out their best performance.

I think they are being lenient this time around because Chelsea that I knew before with Roman Abramovich as the owner of the club would have sacked alot of person as coach especially last season when they were so bad although this new management is also taking the same footsteps but I think they were lenient with the last coach because the man did a whole lot of damage with that Chelsea squad for some reason they still managed to keep him until ut was too late. I think with the stats that Alonso is holding to his portfolio as a coach he will for sure be given time to change things.

Coventry focusing on just improving the infrastructure should definitely help them. Hull City is also there and that's the team that I wonder the most. Because they did not went there via winning, they went to premier league by playoffs, and furthermore this was a team that stayed at the league and did not relegated barely a year ago, so a jump from almost relegating from championship, to playoff win to premier league is a huge jump and they are too much stretched out right now.

While I am sure they can use all that money to improve the squad and be better, they are not going to be great enough to stay easily. I am expecting them to fall back to championship quite quickly, and they need to be careful about that.

I don’t think we are actually comparing the two situations accurately, Enzo Maresca actually wasn’t at the club till the end of the season which Chelsea finished this low. He finished in champions league places when he had a full season. He also won them their first ever Conference league tittle and the club World Cup against all odds. So I would say his time at the club was definitely not a failure and was even better than this current Micheal Carrick era at Manchester United.

Compared to who Chelsea brought in as his replacement I think they made a huge mistake letting him leave. But the fact that it wasn’t just regular sack he was actually rumoured to be in contact with Manchester City then I think the Chelsea ego was bruised and that’s why they took that harsh stance and seriously let’s not deceive our selves it’s affecting them until Alonso liberates them

It’s just going to be better if they don’t put much pressure on Alonso when the season start, he will have to be rebuilding Chelsea, and it’s not something which he will be able to do within a short period of time. It’s going to take some time before he will be able to get things fixed, so Chelsea management should just give him some times, and Chelsea fans shouldn’t expect anything much from Alonso by next season, but I know Chelsea performance is going to improve.

I don’t know if Chelsea will be able to end the season in top 4 because they have teams that are better than them currently, but let’s see how other teams are going to perform when the season start, but we all shouldn’t just expect much from Alonso by next season.

You are right. Alonso seems to be good at developing young players. But these players have to be ready for the task ahead. The management too. It is not going to be an easy journey though and it’s the reason why Alonso needs to be strictly focused on the end goal which is to go for greatness. I also want him not to forget this is not Bundesliga or any other league, this is Premier League where the competition on the clubs are tighter and more competitive.

The sacking came as a surprise to everyone especially Chelsea fans. Maresca might be a bit struggling but he did give Chelsea a structure, a style even though they were not perfect but they were getting somewhere until the owners decided to sack Maresca. It's true with Maresca Chelsea would have definitely make it to the champions league and probably win a trophy as well.

There was improvements in the team, there was a strong structure and a style which made them a good challenge to top teams. Maresca also qualified for the champions league in his first season and won two trophies and he would have won another trophy as well and even qualify for the champions league if he was given a little more time. Maresca already proved himself in his first season so there's no reason sacking him in my opinion. The performance might be unstable but he was building something that would be great in future.

Another reason why I expect Chelsea to do well and finish in the top four without too many challenges is that they are not playing in any European competition. This will give them more opportunities to focus fully on the Premier League.Every season, we expect to see more competition in the Premier League every season and it usually happens. I would not be surprised if another team that nobody expects ends up competing for a top four spot next season. We witness this almost every season, and sometimes those teams even manage to finish in the top four.
