Liverpool is said to be after a big transfer move for a right winger to fill Salah's void. Barcola and Diomande have been the names I have heard of so far. It's said they are ready to pay more than £100m...

The first round is a bit disappointing with the lack of big signs. There are a lot of even pairs and I hope the teams don’t decide to play reliably so as not to at least start the season with a defeat. It would be disappointing if last year's trend of a record number of goalless draws continued. It's disgusting that many games are played during the day, in my experience this is a bad sign for the number of goals scored and for the favorites. Games at 12:30 and 14:00, what kind of nonsense is this and who came up with it?

Yes man. It would have been nice to have at least one solid clash between 2 top teams. I can agree on the last part of your past too. The match times are too early as we are still going to be in August.

They should have thought of the players and put the matches much later for a temporary time period. At least until we leave the affects of summer behind...

So Garnacho is now on Aston Villa, the other day i saw a funny meme in which one guy said Garnacho is doing the Jadon Sancho journey  Cheesy Grin

And this is real, but i think this time is a step ahead for Garnacho Chelsea right now is a mess and they dont play in europe so for Garnacho it could be easy to have minutes in Aston Villa than in Chelsea.

Even without taking the temperature into account, I hate football games during the day. But yes, in August it can still be very hot during the day, plus the high midday sun can make it difficult for players to see the ball in the air. I can't understand where this idea of playing so early came from - like, ordinary fans dream of waking up early on their day off and going to the stadium? Weak logic, it seems to me that on the contrary, they want to sleep longer and go to the stadium in the evening knowing that there is still a day off ahead (if we are talking about games on Friday and Saturday).

Smiles I wish him the best on his new challenge, I only hope he picks from here else the banter still continues because he brought this upon himself because of pride and ego, now he's feeling it better than he thinks, and this would sound as a warning to those players that feel like they are bigger than a team, because some of them are actually nothing without some clubs, Ganacho is a true definition of that, Marcus Rashford is quite lucky, but that love from the fans is not really there he's divided it from the Manchester United fans, unless he changes his way.

The action by a manager to leave the best in players not to participate in major tournaments always leaves a query to the people involved in football. Big clubs such as Manchester City are ready to spend big on world stars even though their end game is to join Real Madrid in future in search of their dream winner trophy.
You're right, clubs like City always have what it takes to be champions, however, now with a new coach, not much changes, but we'll see from what point they want to change the playing system that the great Pep had in place. Now Pep has also declined to be the coach of Italy; it was presumed that it was because of the salary, but he said no because he had to risk some personal and family problems.

And Lacroix has also been signed by Chelsea... This is another good move after the Rogers one. The fee is said to be 52 million pounds which is less than half amount of Rogers'.

I hope they go on making logical signings like these this summer instead of filling the squad with useless names. They can easily sell some of them to make some more money as well.

In the end, Xabi Alonso won't use many of them probably.  Tongue

Here we have the 1st fixtures for next season...

There isn't a huge match on the 1st week already maybe but there are some good ones. Predicting the results of the first matches can be tricky though. Gamblers can come across surprising results.

But I think most of top teams will start with victories. Starting with Arsenal against Coventry.
The first two fixtures are truly among unequal opponents and following this thought we can say it's a walk-over games for Arsenal and Manchester United. But  we still need to tread with caution because in football unimagined results can surface. It might look impossible but one of the two big sides can lose or draw their first fixture of the season to the underdog.

I would be racking many of this games on my bet for the first week fixtures but it's gonna be a bet for the goals market just to avoid any surprises.

I hope this time around Chelsea gets it right and Alonso takes the team to better height as the new manager. I have been vocal on this aspect, since the UK government took away Chelsea from the Russian and sold it, the club has never remained the same again till now. For few years now, Chelsea has been very active in every transfer window but what happens when the season starts is what most of us can't comprehend. They have the money and players but are not replicating that on the pitch. If it's quality players, they do have those too but how they end up is something else. I think when it comes to having players, no club in Europe has more players than Chelsea and of course a greater number of them are all out on loan and they keep on buying more and more players. I really hope Alonso gets it right with Chelsea. I miss the old Chelsea even though I'm not their fan, the competition dropped when their are no much teams to compete with. If the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are all in form, every week will be like a final in the EPL. That's the kind of competition I want back in the EPL.

Manchester City has the most expensive squad in the PL currently. If you are building a team like this then the expectations will also be the same way.

Guardiola was doing great until he started making some changes in his usual system. Not only that but also changes in his player preferences during transfers...

Enzo Maresca will also be a good choice for them I think. They just need to give it some time as they have a new manager after 10 years.  Smiley

Honestly, I was so sad when I saw the news because after he has fight so much for Chelsea is leaving finally, Garnacho was so interested to going to Chelsea, which i expected that he will spend more time with them but unfortunately he left, his new challenge will be a very great one because aston Villa is Now among the top teams, which on the other hand, I was so happy for him because see him in Aston Villa is not a downfall. Aston Villa will be in Champions League and that was due to their performance in  just concluded season. Living Chelsea will also be an advantage to him, because Chelsea is not participating in any of European competition  for this season.

It's not only about that Guardiola made changes with his usual system; it's because the opponent teams started to understand his winning tactics and began to use them against him. You know when you spend a lot of time in a particular league side, your strategy will get known, and your winning results will start to go down immediately, and that's undoubtedly what happened to Pep—that he started to lose matches more than ever, which resulted in him leaving at the end of last season, and coaches know this.

Smiley

The fact that the opponent team was able to understand pep Guardiola strategy wasn't the issue because I believe Guardiola will always change strategy moreover as an experience manager he is, He understood that using the same strategy over and over without any changes that the other team will come to learn of it and deploy a strategy to counter his. So every experience coach will know that it won't be a good idea to be using the same strategy overtime because other teams will be studying there strategy to learn how to counter them. Every experience manager should have different strategies and should always change strategy when the other isn't working.
Pep Gaurdiola didn't leave Manchester city because of the fact that he was losing matches but rather he decided to take a break from coaching and to spend time with his family.

If Garnacho can do well there he more likely won't suffer similar fate like Sancho whose salary structure was the major factor nothing much came out from his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Garnacho move to Aston Villa is not about playing UEFA competition but rather getting back to his best and since he will be having less pressure there at Villa this is good for him, the UEFA competition is just an addition.

I don’t think Sancho case either was about the wage at the end because after his contract expired with Manchester United he was technically supposed to actually agree new deal with Aston Villa and if he was truly needed and wanted join he would have take a pay cut and the fact that Aston Villa wasn’t going to pay for his wages it would have actually been easier to make a decision of signing him but they let me leave been he wasn’t offering any extraordinary performance that they won’t get elsewhere.

Three players I will tell you have actually let their ego got into their heads are Rashford, Sancho and Gernacho and what was the direction of all three after forcing way out of Manchester United? They all have almost an identical route with Rashford moving to Aston Villa and then to Barcelona who couldn’t pay £27 million for him and signed to wingers who on paper he is better than for a higher fee and then now left at the mercy of Manchester United again.

Then Sancho and Gernacho with both actually forcing move to Chelsea and then Aston Villa. I will advice Gernacho put his head down because he is definitely not going to get a contract there and ends up being another Sancho.

You're right, things are as they are. Many have already determined what Pep's strategy is and how he handles many game situations. And although Pep is a very good coach, some strategies are easy to read. That's why many coaches can create their own mental strategy of how the game would unfold and recreate it. Many use this and it helps them a lot because it works for Pep in his case.

I know Emery is a great coach. Besides Garnacho has played for Chelsea and Man Utd only which are top clubs. Can he do better at a more average club in the league? I mean general quality otherwise Aston Villa had a great year of course.

I don't think that's the only reason because, despite everything that happened, Pep nearly won the Premier League. At one point, I was afraid that Arsenal wouldn't just let Arsenal be. I may not be a fan of Manchester City, but Pep is a great man because of the strategies he employs. One thing about football is that the game won't always go your way, so no matter how good your club is, it's better for you to know that not every game will be in your favor. Pep is one of the greatest managers Manchester City has ever had, and regardless of how poorly he performs, he also has his positive aspects. I'm confident that they will still miss him.

I really feel bad for the kid, but sometimes these young players fail to reach their full potential because they hesitated and didn't work hard enough to get there. Player like Garnacho has good qualities to become great, he was lucky to have played in two of the biggest teams in England, got enough playing time but failed to prove himself. Sometimes they forget they don't have always to prove themselves, when you play at a bigger team you are expected to do more as fast as you can because players are easily replaced there.

Sometimes the pressure from playing at a bigger team affects some of these players so I won't be surprised if Garnacho should play well at Aston Villa. He has the qualities and now the pressure is less if he knows what he's doing then he should be able to perform better.

Even if any team needs to thread with caution i don't thinks its supposed to be Manchester United, although with same players quality Manchester have lost to a weaker team in there first game but can never allow that to happen in today's game.
Manchester United did had an interesting performance today at Norway, the game was such an interesting one to watch and I was very comfortable with there performance. Among everything that happened in that game, the most interesting thing is how entertaining there first goal wa and I will never forget about it

A move to Aston Villa would be a good step for Garnacho, IMO. It could help him become a better player in the future. After all, the transfer is a loan, he remains a Chelsea player & whenever Chelsea needs him again, he will return to Stamford Bridge. BTW, I can't wait to see what contribution he'll make to Aston Villa, I'm hoping for something like what Antony did at Real Betis.
