For so many years now Arsenal had great opportunities to become champions of England but failed to capitalize on the opportunities they had but always joke with the opportunities at there hand but where very lucky last season. I know many will be asking why I used the word lucky. Last season they almost lost it if not for the lack of consistency Manchester City had lately last season. If the Manchester City or United of this coming season where same last season, Arsenal won't have made it to the top the same way they did.

It seems none is watching Liverpool's friendly against Monaco except me . I feel so good to see Iraola's tactic is starting to work in this game. although their backine is a bit on the edge most of times, but they can also move the ball so quickly to the upfront once they won it back. I see koumas can settle to the Iraola's tactic as well as Grav. I also see Gakpo is doing pretty good here, and i'm starting to think Liverpool may start to chance their stance on him to not to sell him. So far Wirtz also has good half by creating everything in the club. Nvertheles it feels a bit weird to miss Salah's face from this club because how iconic he was for Liverpool, but life must go on. hehe. It's interesting to see what rotiation will be doing by Iraola at 2nd half. The first half is quite impressive, but i hope they can do better at the 2nd half. I'm watching this on youtube for free. So far, people have not been paying too much attention on the ongoing preseason friendlies, it hasn’t entirely been favourable to most bettors. Big teams don’t just giving away wins or draws is one thing. Today I saw that Manchester City won Atletico Madrid 3:1 with Omar Marmoush scoring a brace and with the speculations surrounding his time at City even his coach isn’t confident with him, I believe he deserves to remain at City he’ll be a valuable asset to deploy anytime. Liverpool ended up losing this game 3:2 to Monaco, Chelsea played a 3:3 against Johor. Not the results we all expected. Friendlies are not that good for the betting purpose, but it give us a small insight about how good or bad the depth of the team. From the games you mentioned, Liverpool is obviously the one who give me disappointment to my expectation. You know City played with their 2nd team, they win. While Chelsea also deployed all of their 2nd team players, so no disappointment when they got a draw against a weak club. However, it's different feeling when it comes to the Liverpool. Their team is not depth enough. When they made the changes, their team performance has been dropping a lot. So this obviously telling how they is still lacking of something compared to the City to be one of main rival in title chaser. Even Iraola has admitted it in his interview. So he takes this game seriously as an insight what thing that needs to be solved.

Of the coming season? You seem to be saying that both Manchester City and Manchester United are likely to make it hard for a team like Arsenal which by the way also still has very good players playing for them will not be able come out on top the the premier league this season, I do think that Arsenal might not be as advantaged as the were last season but I don't think Man United especially has enough to give Arsenal a run for their money yet.

The truth here is that Man United has been on fire since Michael Carrick came along...They now play in an entirely new level, they now find it very easy to create goal scoring chances, which is always been utilized effectively..That African scoring machine Mbeumo is really killing it there in Man United..This kind of team is definitely gonna be a threat even for Arsenal...If Arsenal really value defending their last season victory, they should try improving their defense too, they shouldn't just be focusing on their attack..At least they have someone like Bruno and Rice in the midfield, that should count as something..

Let’s wait for next season to start. We cannot determine who is actually going to win the Premier league title next season because watching from the preseason matches Manchester United is doing very well. Manchester city is also doing very well, but Arsenal is not doing as expected. I don’t know if Arsenal is actually going to lift the Premier league title again, but I don’t have to judge them just because of preseason matches so I have to wait till next season start. If Arsenal succeed in lifting the Premier league titles again next season, they are going to be doing that for a long time the same way Manchester city dominated the Premier league during the time pep was coaching them.

Marmoush has performed quite well in the preseason matches, and he should remain at Manchester City. I don’t think Maresca would want to sell Marmoush because he’s been a great supersub when needed. Besides, Marmoush is the only backup for Haaland. Therefore, I don’t think Maresca would want to be without Marmoush on his roster.

What made Arsenal to win the trophy last season was their consistency when other teams in the league where not consistent in winning matches Arsenal was making sure they either win or share the points between their opponent.
Arsenal were the best in the league and they deserve to win the trophy, Tottenham and chelsea has one of their worst season so far while Liverpool manage to secure a champions league spot because of the increment in teams to qualify for the UCL spot, Man united wasn't good at the beginning of the season it was when carrick arrived that things begin to go well for them and then finish 3rd in the league so i think this season we are going to see a different ball game.
I think so too, arsenal is a great team that's an indisputable fact, but new season comes with different preparation by different teams, the top teams and the teams that just got promoted to the English premier League will want to play very well to remain in the league without being relegated, any team that will win the title race for the season will have to be very consistent, winning matches has to be their priority, if at all arsenal will win the title race this season, it means they have to be ready to win most of their matches as they did last season and how possible is that when Manchester city, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and some other good teams are already seeing them as a threat, so how do we think that it will be an easy sail for arsenal this season.

Arsenal won the championship as the least undeserving team in a pool where no one really deserved it... they ground out most of their matches 1-0, grabbing 3 points thanks to corner kick goals from players like Gabriel, Merino and Zubimendi.
How can a team that finished the season with the most points not deserve the league? Listen to yourself. You can say they were lucky Manchester City was in bad form last season, but you cannot say they didn't deserve the league. And saying they were grinding out wins... Are you using that to fault them? Isn't that what the league is about? Do you think it's every match that they would blow their opponents away and win with a big scoreline? Some matches you have to struggle. Nobody is going to hand you the league. Some games, you have to struggle and grind out your 1-0, or 2-1 win. That is how you win the league. I do not like the system Arsenal played, but there is more than one way to play football. If they chose a way that favoured them, then good for them. if it was easy why didn't other teams do it and win? Arsenal deserved the league. They fought for it, they finished with the most points. Corners and penalties are part of football. Every team takes a corner with the hope of scoring, so why do you want to antagonise the team that scored from the corner. And players like Gabriel, Merino and Zubimendi not Arsenal players? What is this? So players shouldn't score for their teams anymore? This is funny.

I disagree with you on Arsenal lack of consistency that made them bottled up the league in previous, I think it is because of lack of depth on the part of the squad, whenever there is injury to some key players the team do struggle which result to lack of consistency compared to Man City that has enough depth thus Arsenal opportunity gone, however Arteta thereafter strengthened the team before last season with Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyökeres, Hincapié and Mosquera that means in every positions in the team the team has a quality backup therefore the team live up expectations consequently won the league last season, Arsenal had also fortified their midfield this season with the arrival of Guimaraes one of the best midfielder in the world therefore became a team to formidable squad.

Arteta have done a good job with Arsenal even though it looks like it took forever. Coming into this season, Arsenal now have the confidence to try and win the league again, where others teams manager will be busy looking for the right players to use. Manchester United finished the season on a very high level, they really played like a different team in that second phase of the season. So I will consider them also to try and fight for the League. Manchester city also have a new manager, but he his not new to the league. So I think with the team they have they should also be a strong contender to win the premier league.

As long as the whole of England is concerned there is no team that has a good defense compared to that of Arsenal. Arsenal has a very good defence and there is no need for them to focus on improving their defense. It is their attacking midfield that they needs to work on. If you look at Arsenal performance last season, they were winning without scoring more goals because of poor midfield and this was actually what caused them to lose the champions League final. Arsenal defense as long as England is concerned is the best.

I don't even know why people deny the truth even when it is clearly in front of their eyes. Arsenal are obvious favorites for the Premier league competition, I have said this a billion times and I will say it again. The same way Mikel Arteta will continue with the good job he is doing next season. Most likely to challenge him are Enzo Maresca and Michael Carrick. I don't see Andoni Iraola and for some personal reasons Xabi Alonso but he can still leave us with surprises. My hot take is that they will finish second place again, I don't have a high confidence for their defenders. Enzo Maresca can do great things, but I don't expect him to win just the way Pep Guardiola won games. Interesting season ahead.

Arsenal have shown significant mental development in dealing with pressure and correcting mistakes like those that occurred in previous seasons. The assumption that Arsenal was lucky because of Man City inconsistency last season is not entirely correct, because Arsenal actually appeared very dominant consistently throughout the season. It must be admitted, competition in the EPL is very tight. Arsenal success in surpassing Man City points tally was due to their very strong defense. Arsenal ability to top the standings in a very competitive competition proves that the trophy they won was not just a gift from Man City decline in performance. The rise of other clubs such as Man City, Man United or Liverpool will make Arsenal steps harder. Consistency throughout the season is an absolute requirement to repeat success. Arsenal must prove that they can maintain a level of consistency without relying on other teams' bad results.

Personally I want to wait until few competitive matches into the season before judging arsenal, preseason can give hints but it is not always an accurate prediction of how a team will perform when the season starts. I believe fans should still expect some positive signs even in preseason.
Honestly a team does not have to win every match but we will want to see that organization, intensity and improvement. If those are missing it is normal to be worried. So I try not to read too much into preseason results and mostly managers even use these matches to test new tactics, give younger players opportunities and build fitness rather than just focusing on winning
In Premier league its not the case that a team that has won a title will perform well in next season also. We saw Liverpool winning 2024/25 title but wasn't able to repeat that performance in 2025/26 season and finished 5th on points table. Next if we look at season 2025/26 then till very end of the season, it was not clear whether it will be Arsenal or Man City that will lift the trophy. As defending champion, how Arsenal perform in upcoming season is not clear and we need to wait to see Arsenal in action before making any prediction.

As per Arsenal's success, I think it was largely thanks to Manchester City's bad luck. If Man City get their stuff together this season, Arsenal won't have a chance, imho. But there could be some internal problems there we are not aware of yet.

I wasn't expecting any spectacular performance form them after that, even in the UEFA champions League. Arsenal just moved differently and this is not about bad luck on City (because they lifted 2 European trophies), Arsenal were just the better side when in the EPL. As for this season, let's not battle with words--- it's about to begin in a week or so.

Arsenal is that team that always reaches the top stage but is always 2nd. They always manage to get past all the hurdles but except winning the trophy let it be a league stage or championships. But calling arsenal lucky just ignores the fact that they were very consistent and defensively dominant. But luck played a little part not that arsenal was dependent on it. Man city’s last season late-season stumble cleared the road for arsenal and made it easier. If city gets consistent then it will certainly become harder for arsenal.

I don't think we should argue about Arsenal facing a lot of challenges in the coming season, take a look at last season, Liverpool was not in a good form you still, Chelsea also was not in a better form and Manchester United were just battling to recover from their losses, we all knew already that Manchester City are still in their best performance even though not powerful as the previous season. This coming season is definitely going to be a big challenge for arsenal, because all the top teams are ready to be among the contender for the title, most especially Manchester United that recovered rapidly since last season with the assistance of their current coach which no one believe in him when he came. I consider Manchester United to be among the top contender because they have good players and they are ready to defend their self this time around.

It is true that a team that wins the Premier League once is likely to perform well in the next season, so it can be said this happens in the Premier League as well, as evidenced by the fact that Manchester City won the PL trophy in the 2022-23 season and we noticed that this team won the PL trophy the following season as well. Actually, Arsenal performed exceptionally well last season because they were worthy contenders to win two titles but they have been able to win the Premier League title after 22 years, so you think they might not be able to play well for another season, but this team is already trying to recruit the best players. As evidenced by the fact that they have added talented midfielders from Newcastle United. Maybe everyone has noticed this Arsenal were very consistent and dominant in defense last season but they are trying to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming English Premier League and it seems to us their goal is to reach the UCL final match again.

First of all, when it comes to Liverpool, they are still unpredictable. They don't know when they played well and when they played badly last season. We will know where Liverpool's position could be once the season starts. Arsenal will face a lot more challenges this time. Because this time some clubs are in good form. In most seasons we see one or two teams in good form. But this time almost most teams have good players, and they are all in top form in their respective positions. Manchester United and Manchester City will be the biggest challenges for Arsenal. So, if Arsenal leaves any match with weakness, then they will be left with a big gap later. This season is going to be much more exciting.
