I’m really looking forward to Xabi Alonso with Chelsea in the EPL. I’m curious to see how he will get Chelsea back into the top 3 in the EPL.

Chelsea will perform well by next season with the kind of players they are having, and the kind of coach which they are having right now, but I don’t expect everything to change in Chelsea within a short period of time, we should give Alonso some time for him to balance things at Chelsea.

The season havent started yet, and we don’t know how Chelsea will perform when the season starts, but they should be able to qualify for the champions league, am sure that’s what Alonso will be aiming for by next season. I have seen some people saying Chelsea should be able to win the premier league title by next season, I think we shouldn’t put Alonso under unnecessary pressure, let’s give him time.

We should just try and lower expectations on Alonso, so that if he ends up not performing well by next season, we not going to be disappointed at him. Lots of people’s expectations are just high, and I don’t really like it.

We have seen a lot of defending champions that couldn't defend the title the second time. Do you know that assuming Carrick handles the team in the beginning of last season, Arsenal wouldn't have near winning the title.

Manchester United beat Arsenal the moment Carrick took over and I believe that the same thing will happen this season because the squad is a formidable one. Let's watch and see.

You are right, even Liverpool couldn't defend the title last season, meaning it is not certain that Arsenal will win the title again. Honestly, I don't think Arsenal will easily defend the title just like Pep did seasons ago. I know they have alot of quality players, but teams like United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man city, have all rebuilt their team and changed managers as well. This means they will be stronger than last season, and we might see new tactics from these new managers.

Michael Carrick is a very good and tactical manager, and United is so lucky they finally found the solution to their problems for seasons now, he will certainly compete for the title next season.

Arsenal on paper are still the favorite and this means they can't be seen as a team who can't defend the EPL title but others team can still stand a chance yet for me these teams are few and I can say Liverpool and Manchester City.

The others are more expensive gamble because looking at the past seasons these teams have been so much inconsistent for me to trust them including my team Chelsea.

I so much believe in Carrick that he will surprise the world this season with his men. He is starting the season and has a lot of time to win as many matches as he can in order to top the table. Arsenal isn't a threat to United at all.
