As a Manchester United fan I know that task ahead of the manager for next season and since his performance was good for the team last season he is expected to even do more now that had has some good players added to the team and the coming back of Marcus Rashford should also be a good thing cause he is experienced in the champions League which could boost the performance of the team.
Michael Carrick is expected to win at least a trophy next season which is not a bad expectation but it is not mandatory for him to win the league if he happens to win the Champions League that won't be bad cause a good performing team should have a trophy to show for it .
I actually expected Manchester United to have made some top-tier signings by now, but it looks like you are planning to rely more on last year's heroes. I don't think Rashford's return will add any boost to the team. He hardly had any impact in La Liga.
We surely don't know how Carrick and team will perform this coming season, and time will tell.
You got a fair point about the lack of big-name arrivals in Manchester United so far, but they’ve still spent close to £85m on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to rebuild their midfield after Casemiro left. So it’s not as if they are just gonna be running it back with the same squad they had from last season.
As for Rashford, Barca won the league with him contributing 14 goals and double digit assists.
It might not have been a world-class season for him, but i think it’s kinda unfair for you to say that he had hardly any impact for Barca last season.
Now whether he can actually replicate that run again under Carrick is another question, especially after being away from the first team for 18 months.
Carrick’s half season last year was good enough to secure him with third and the Champions League football, but doing it over a full season with much higher expectations is gonna be a completely different challenge.
And the window is still open for another couple of weeks, so there’s still time for more business.
